Fukarth knows precisely what she means and glares at her for nearly a full second before he bursts out laughing. He pours himself another shot and lifts his glass with his pinky extended.

"Here'sh to the brutesh!" he roars. "And the teabags!"

Fukarth Firebeard wrote:

First game on the boards to start with all the characters completely hungover.

Fukarth nodded sagely as he strained another shot through his mustache. "Grown-up woman oughtta -hic- have hair on her chesht."

"Hell," she said with a considering shrug while staring down her shot glass, "I do," and catapulted the aqua vitae down her throat.

Imp coughed a second later and moved to rub her lips with the back of her glove. "Lord in iron, that's coarse. You should be glad they made this with your kin in mind, Fukarth, because I can't imagine a dwarven woman looking good without at least three bottles of this swilling in yer gut."

She laughs and clanks her glass with his. "I think yer a dwarf after me own heart here, Fukarth, and that is to say a warning to not try to mine it out of m'chest 'cause it ain't made o'gold."

I'd like to throw my name in the hat for recruiting purposes. Talwas Lefthanded, monk of the open hand, at your service.

Crunch:

Spoiler:

Talwas Lefthanded
Lawful Neutral Human Monk (Monk of the Open Hand) 3
Attributes:
Str: 20 (17 Pts) +2 racial
Dex 13 (3 Pts)
Con 14 (5 Pts)
Wis 13 (3 Points)
Int 7 (-4 Points)
Charisma 7 (-4 Point)
Statistics:
Will +4 (+6 vs enchantment) Fort +5 Ref +4

Fluff:

Spoiler:

Talwas was not what you would call a people person. All throughout his life, coming from a lower middle class family in Molthune, he had avoided the spotlight, staying behind the louder, more confident individuals and constantly funneling his social frustrations into his training. He soon learned that he was far more fluent with his fists than with his tongue, and often put his physical linguistics skills to work on the bullies who would try to gang up on him. Not considering himself important enough to warrant a proper weapon, Talwas would use whatever was handy to defend himself when others saw him as an easy target to pick on. He learned a fighting style all his own when he continuously used strange and improvised tools to defend himself and stay alive.

He sees the opportunity to enlist and serve his country as a responsibility, a duty. Besides, soldiers weren't often called upon to give their opinions. Talwas felt much more comfortable when he wasn't being asked to lead anyone, leaving it to more high-minded folks.

Appearance:

Spoiler:

Talwas never felt that he was dealt a very fair hand when it came to his appearance. His eyes are set slightly too far apart, giving him a bland, simple expression that makes him appear slightly slow. Despite being perceptive and self-aware, he never took to formal studies, which further solidified his martyr status among his peers as a child.

He could never seem to get the hang of fashion, either, and always seemed to look as if he dressed himself in the dark. It came to no surprise to his parents that he turned to a religious life as soon as he was of age to do so, entering the formal worship of Irori. The faith attracted Talwas because he knew that although he would never be a scholar or an orator, he could at least attain the highest level of physical perfection possible.

A man with Talwas' meager ambitions did not rise through the ranks of the faithful, and he has remained at acolyte status ever since his inception into the church. This matters little to Talwas, as long as he was allowed to study the forms of the monk. As an added benefit, being a part of the church allows him to never have to worry about what outfit he will wear that day, and it affords him precisely one accessory - the medallion on his neck that bears Irori's symbol. That level of fashion, he could manage.

(If I am allowed into the campaign,) Talwas sits a stool or two over from the loud carousing of the dwarf and half-orc, sipping water and trying to appear friendly. His hood is down and he appears simple and unarmed, his only decoration the holy symbol of Irori around his neck.

Seeing that the dwarves purse seems to be keeping the drinks flowing Runk, largely unnoticed, takes his pint of ale and walks about the tavern taking note of all the interesting folk who seem to be there tonight.

Guys, I don't want to be a spoilsport, but you are kind of cluttering the thread. Let's keep this relatively on-topic so that relevant information can be found more easily by me/people making their submissions.

Am I in or out, Mr. Coluber?

Well before we started a tavern seen (Runk glares at the dwarf passed out beneath a nearby table) the GM had mentioned he'd be taking apps until the end of day tomorrow (GMT). So I imagine we'll hear between Friday and Monday.

Sorry, I had a busy day and forgot to respond. :(

You're fine. Though if I might suggest, a 20 in a stat usually isn't worth it, especially for a monk. You'd be better off with a 18 and putting the rest of the points in Dex and Wis.

And like the short guy up over there said,

Applications will be accepted until Thursday 28.3 23:59 GMT!

Yeah, my build is rather glass cannon-y, isn't it? I'll shuffle around some points for better Wis. My previous post is locked from editing, so I'll repost here, with slightly shuffed stats:

Changed a little more around in the backstory-- read up on Gorum, added more on Gorum, added some things the people talked about in thread like the half-orc ghetto and why she's blind in one eye.

** spoiler omitted **...

I would probably swap Dex and Wis around, (after all, wisdom adds to AC too) but then again, I have never played a monk. :P So do what you think is the best.

My logic is that Wis is going to matter a lot more to me when I get a ki pool, and that'll happen next level. I also gain an ability score increase next level, which I planned to put in Wis.

Until then, my Dex will help my Acrobatics checks, and it isn't hurting my AC. :)

Really excited for the campaign to start!

Just bumping, keen to see if I make the cut.

I'm guessing that Easter probably ate the GM. :)

I've always wanted to see a metal oracle in action, Jafo, I hope you get in. :)

Didn't he say he was going away for the weekend and starting things up when he got back?

Important Announcement!!!

I was first planning to end the recruitment next sunday, but realized that it will be easter. :P So...

Recruitment will close on Thursday 28 at 23:59 GMT, and the game will start on the monday or tuesday after that.

He said he'd start the game monday or tuesday but nothing about when characters would be chosen. I guess we all kinda assumed it would be right after recruitment closed, but that could have been a wrong assumption for sure. I guess we just wait! :)

Actually, I chose the characters before I started the recruitment. Now let's see... Bob? Is there anyone named Bob here?

Oh crap, seems like my crystal ball has malfunctioned again. :(

Never mind, seems like I have to do this the old-fashioned way...

Could the following characters kindly post in the discussion thread?

Fukarth Firebreath
Imperia Ulvauno
Gorvy
Song Lianhua
Ka'ta

Thanks for everyone who made a submission! I appreciate every one of them, even though I regrettably can't take you all in...

Have a great game guys. Don't worry, I'll keep your purses safe here :)

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber
