You can post whenever you want. If for some strange reason you shouldn't, I'll tell you.

Obviously, I've been having issues again. Just want you all to know that I'm still thinking of you guys and the game and everything involved. I went to Brunei and they didn't have any internet! It was sadface.

However, it should also be noted, as I'm struggling at the moment, that I'm clinically and cyclically depressed - though the desire to post and my love of you guys and your characters and the game remains, a lot of my energy and will to actually do the things I genuinely want to do is gone. I think about the games, I read the materials over and over, and I genuinely want to talk to everyone, but I can't make myself sign on or write. I am constantly frustrated by myself, sitting and playing pointless bejeweled games when I know this is waiting for me.

I just can't describe it any better than that.

I am here and settled again with a Visa for another 30 days so hopefully I will be more regular. I understand if anyone doesn't really want to deal with a probably sporadic druid as I try to get back into my routines and patch myself up.

All that said, I'm fighting hard for this hobby of mine that probably literally saved my life in the last bad patch I went through.

And yeah, I get that this might be needlessly melodramatic, but I wanted to get it out there. I owe you all that much.

~L

It's OK. After all, it's a game, and games are supposed to be fun. If you find the enegry to post, post, and if you don't, at least don't feel bad about it; The last thing I want to do is to cause my players unnecessary stress.

And I think that I speak for everyone when I say that we love you too. *Hugs!*

(Also, how was Brunei?)

The scariest rolls I've seen in a while... good lord.

I hope you're feeling better Lexi. I would say "I've been in those shoes", but everyone's different, so, "I've seen those shoes before and they look like ones I had a long time ago." Here's a little guy with thumbs up: ( ' -')b

I hate to say this, but I have an obscene amount of work to do, and don't foresee being able to update this game in the next four or five days. So, if you have always wanted to go to a three day retreat, now is the time.

We'll commence regular programming again in the next Sunday/Monday.

Man, my life is a yoyo. Thanks guys, I'm back, have an actual computer, and still love yas!

Hope you're doing ok, Coluber!

And we're back! Sorry that I kept you waiting!

@Lexi: I don't remember how to link to specific posts, but the equipment-picking stuff is somewhere on the first page of this thread.

So, I went on holiday last week and it turned out they didn't have wi-fi after all... but I'm back now.

Sorry about that, will post soon.

F Human (Mwangi) Druid (Urban) 4

Same. Building internet haw been down. Still spotty and blips every blinking rainstorm ... given that its the rainy season right now, I've been grouching at building management all week, with little luck. Grump.

Just wanted to let you guys know, I recently admitted to my family that I was raped back when I was a young child. It happened years ago and at the moment I'm trying to come to terms with it. I don't really expect this to affect my ability to post, but I imagine if it does I'm probably not gonna jump on here and post saying it is.

Please don't take this as I may randomly disappear for a week or month or anything like that, but if I disappear for two or three days that's probably why. I'll do my best to keep it from affecting the game.

Sorry I can't share more details, but I felt like we've been gaming for a good few months now and it wouldn't be right of me to not be honest about this. Hope to keep gaming for a while to come as well. :)

You are in my thoughts and I applaud your bravery.

F Human (Mwangi) Druid (Urban) 4

We're with you! <3 Thank you for trusting us!

Those are some hard yards. I hope things play out as well as they can.

I hate to ask more questions, but how much stuff is there to carry off? Like a whole wagon full or just a couple of things?

Actually, when I said wagon, I meant cart. :P Got them mixed up.

Anyway, you are not close enough to make out which things you should take with you and which things you can leave there.

Guys?

I was gonna wait for someone else to post, but if they aren't going to I'll post tonight. Post incoming in a couple hours I guess. :3

Ok. I know I was gone again. >< This time it was a vacation. The good news is, I no longer have any more vacations, I have a computer, the building's internet seems to have stabilized, I'm working on schedules with my therapist to keep me organized, and most of my other friends seem healthy and unlikely to go into the hospital for emergency surgery!

In fact, next month my mother is going to the US for almost two months, giving me a lot of time to be lonely and clingy to you all. :)

Point being, I am here. Most likely my scheduling will put me on one post a day minimum to keep me organized, but that'll be better than on again off again.

Apologies again for the yoyoing. I've been trying different meds and not meds and its wrecking havok with sleep and general ability to focus; either I'm sleeping 14 hours a day, or I'm awake but a zombie.

Hopefully that will work out soon.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone call not having vacations good news before. :P

I'll move things forward tomorrow if no-one posts before that.

OK, since I love you all ...

Random question: anyone play in any Star Trek games? XD

Unexpected circumstances will delay the update a little. Check again tomorrow at this time.

So, lately the game has slowed to a crawl. I admit that I haven't posted as much as I should have, but only Ka'ta and Song have posted during the past week. The player of Fukarth seems to have disappeared all together, but the other two "missing lambs" have been pretty active, just not on this game.

Now, can everyone please state if they are still interested in the game?

Human Gunslinger 4; Hit Points 29/29; AC 17/12/15; Initiative +4; Perception +7; Fort +4 Ref +7 Will +2

I'm in.

To be honest, I'm at a bit of a loss to what Gorvy can do except for staying out of the way.

Dragons aren't really something we can fight or talk to (literally can not talk to them). Those are things Gorvy does. He has not utility magic, stealth skills, unusual movement, buffs for others...

Gorvy is sitting quiet (because others are stealthing) and waiting to provide cover/rescue/distraction if the others get in trouble.

If Gorvy was in this situation alone he would either find a hidey-hole and wait for the dragons to go away or maybe, if he had some cash and knew the value of the mcguffin, he might go to town and recruit support.

In fact, if Gorvy was here alone he'd probably conclude that being stuck between the rock of military forces and the hard place of necromancer lady was more trouble than it was worth. He'd probably roll out of town and head through Nirmathas to the next country he doesn't have a bad reputation in (yet).

So, I have been checking the thread every day. It just seems silly to post "I continue to hide behind a tree."
In fact, it seems risky because I might be asked for a stealth check but putting on the there/not-there cloak of silence might be what is keeping Gorvy alive...

Female Half-Orc Martial Artist Monk 4; HP 21/34; AC 21/17/18; Initiative +2; Perception +10(+12); Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +8;

I would have preferred to just attack when we saw them the first time, but now we've waited, are in the dark, lots of maluses to the fight...

"Do something smart" for my monk is "run at them with her fists up" so I've honestly been waiting to see if Song or Ka'ta would do something to help out; Song turned invisible (which includes loud casting and gestures) and unless Ka'ta does something I'm pretty sure I'm just running away, loudly, tailed by three creatures with a faster movement rate than me and blindsense or something.

I like the game; I check it multiple times per day with the rest of my PbPs. It's just annoying to try to get the group to plain engage, get shot down, "stealth" in and then get left behind on a failed roll.

The fact that we've been hovering around this wagon for that long is one of the things I hate most about PbPs; indecision on the part of the PCs to take any action for fear they'll TPK.

So here I am, certain I'm rolling init and that the party may ditch me, but yet waiting to see if Ka'ta will do something...

It may seem silly, but posting something is still preferable for nothing. If you don't have anything to post IC, at least post something OOC; Otherwise your GM will start panicing just like this. :P

But glad that you are still with us. :D Also, don't worry about TPK's. It would be very inconvenient for everyone involved if any of you went and died now, so performing poorly in this particular encounter will lead just to ridicule and humilation, but not permanent loss. So you can save your dramatic dying speech for the epic final confrontation.

Didn't mean to alienate anyone by trying to avoid fighting the drakes. Lianhua is just very cautious when it comes to situations like this and was trying to stay in character. She's not unrelenting though, if you guys want to just fight something she'll do her best to support you.

Human Gunslinger 4; Hit Points 29/29; AC 17/12/15; Initiative +4; Perception +7; Fort +4 Ref +7 Will +2

We've got a great character dynamic but are definitely a motley crew and maybe don't have characters who will co-ordinate combat options to exploit advantages and whatnot.

In my Kingmaker game we're like the elite special forces of our kingdom: planning our strikes and acting in harmony. THat totally suits the characters and the campaign.

Here we're an awkward bunch: a brawler, a drifter, a srong-willed bard, a dwarf... I think, after a few near misses and odd encounters, it might be time for our characters to have learnt that stepping back and planning is a good idea.

In game terms that can be a few signals and whatnot but in metagame terms that probably means discussing what we're going to do in this thread.

Human Gunslinger 4; Hit Points 29/29; AC 17/12/15; Initiative +4; Perception +7; Fort +4 Ref +7 Will +2

GM, any chance for a map or a more detailed desription of the scene?

We need to know where we are, and where everything else is, so that we can make some tactical decisions.

Check the gameplay thread. :)

All right, quick public service announcement:

So, I was fixing a tiny little problem on my computer, and due to being a dumb brute, did lots of heavy-handed crap to fix it. In the process, I managed to break the program I use to make these maps. I'm slowly backtracking my steps and seeing how to get it back without undoing the progress I made, but don't hold your breath. It may take me a few days to do it, and holding your breath for a few days may be a little dangerous.

Update without map coming in a few hours max.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUGh sorry guys. :( My life is ... uh. Not fun. I'll check up on this, I'm cutting down my games but this is one to keep.

Hey all!

I'll be in a place without internet access from about a week to a week and a half, starting next friday. Sorry I didn't mention this before, but I wasn't 100% sure of the date I leave until now.

Leaving now, update coming when I return! See you all then!

Human Gunslinger 4; Hit Points 29/29; AC 17/12/15; Initiative +4; Perception +7; Fort +4 Ref +7 Will +2

So, we have treasure!

The magical crafting stuff doesn't seem that useful to us, I wait to be corrected, but could be valuable.

The bullets and bolts would be useful and arrows aren't free.

so, who wants what?

I want the bullets and might take a buckler if nobody else is interested.

Sharing out the potions makes sense: I'm sure I'll make use of mine.

Remember that the stuff isn't yours, and that you are supposed to bring it all to your contact in Skelt. You can probably get away with using the stuff if the need arises, but you can bet that your superiors will not like it if you sell the equipment you're supposed to be delivering.

Of course, if you don't care about that...

Human Gunslinger 4; Hit Points 29/29; AC 17/12/15; Initiative +4; Perception +7; Fort +4 Ref +7 Will +2

Well, I'm not too keen on going back to the people who sent me on a high-risk, do-or-die mission.

I don't know if anyone else has ties to, um... that place.

Of course, it also depends if we'll be massively disrupting Coluber's plans.

Female Human Bard (Geisha) 4; HP 28/28; AC 11/11/10; Initiative +1; Perception +7; Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +4; +4 against bardic performance, sonic, language-dependent effects; +2 against charm and compulsion, +1 against mind-effecting

Lianhua wouldn't sell off the equipment or take it just cause they were sent to get it. She still has her honor and she's not a thief. On the other hand she's going to find out what the gem is. She didn't sign up to be getting stuff that gods are looking for and she's not the type that likes being used.

All right, there would seem to be some confusion around about the story. So a little recap: Your mission as Molthuni agents is to bring the cart to your contract in Skelt. The letter tells you to take the gem into the temple of Abadar in Skelt. Additionally, the necromancer lady has asked you to meet her in Skelt after you got the gem.

Additionally, there's going to be a railway station in Skelt. :P So unless you have a consensus of going somewhere else, I'd suggest you go towards Skelt.

Female Human Bard (Geisha) 4; HP 28/28; AC 11/11/10; Initiative +1; Perception +7; Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +4; +4 against bardic performance, sonic, language-dependent effects; +2 against charm and compulsion, +1 against mind-effecting

Do we know if there's another temple of Adadar around or not?

Abadar isn't very big on Nirmathas, so there's only a few, and only in the bigger cities. You could always make a Knowledge(Local) check to know exactly where, but Skelt is probably the nearest.

Also, sorry for not updating yet; I'm having the surge of lethargity that comes with the end of the summer and start of working. :P I'll try to update in under 24 hours.

Sorry guys, I'm terrible at estimating how long it will take me to make a post. :/ I'll post tomorrow, I promise, but now I'll have to Ctrl + C what I have done and go to sleep.

So, I have a little problem here. The scene with the archbanker will probably keep going for a while, but I don't want to keep Gorvy and Imperia on the sidelines for its whole duration. So I'll want to ask the players of the afromentioned characters:

Are you okay with me introducing your characters to the scene, even if it means I'll have to be a bit "cutsceney"? I don't want anyone to feel like I'm hijacking their characters. I'd stop it when you are all in the same room again, so it wouldn't be more than one or two posts of "GM power trip". :P

Female Half-Orc Martial Artist Monk 4; HP 21/34; AC 21/17/18; Initiative +2; Perception +10(+12); Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +8;

I don't mind!

Human Gunslinger 4; Hit Points 29/29; AC 17/12/15; Initiative +4; Perception +7; Fort +4 Ref +7 Will +2

Fine by me. Just make us look cool. :D

So, as you probably have noticed, my posting has been way slow. This is because I'm super busy and unfortunately will be until the end of this month. I'll still try to post but I can't guarantee anything.

Female Human Bard (Geisha) 4; HP 28/28; AC 11/11/10; Initiative +1; Perception +7; Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +4; +4 against bardic performance, sonic, language-dependent effects; +2 against charm and compulsion, +1 against mind-effecting

Are there any plans to pick things back up now that we've reached the end of the month or is your schedule still too packed?
