Memnosyne slaps Oster's hand as it reaches for the shard. "Wait a second, please. We need to "diffuse" it first."
which one of us has the doodad that makes it so we can touch this thing without being corrupted?

Memnosyne takes out the ioun stone Sheila had given them for the shard of greed and sees if she can fit it into the shard.

Devlin digs through his stuff looking for the ioun stone. "Not me, at least I don't see it in here." Devlin says just before glancing up and seeing Memnosyne with it in hand. "Oh..."

Devlin takes a quick moment to check the area for magic before Mem tries interacting the shard.

You see a towering statue of a beautiful woman holding aloft a stone sceptre, standing atop a bluff surrounded by a tangled seaside swampland....And then the vision fades

Memnosyne seems to stare out into empty space for a moment before her vision clears. "Whoa. I saw a towering statue of a woman with a stone sceptre, next to a seaside swamp. Sound familiar to anyone?"

she doesn't have geography, but that sounds like the other side of the bridge they saw on the murals down below. She might remember that

"Perhaps there might be some maps back at the manor that we could check for markers as to what you describe." Devlin jots down a few notes, including the exact description of Mem's vision, so that they can do exactly that when they go back.

You head back to Heidmarch Manor. I'm assuming that was the plan

Shiela Heidmarch is impressed with your progress. She tells you that her research has revealed that the next shard is the Shard of Lust. From Memnosyne's description it is a statue known as the Lady's Light, an ancient statue of Runelord Sorshen which provides an unnatarul light which helps ships steer away from the coral reefs in the region known as the Mushfens about 50 miles from Magnimar. You could either travel there on foot or by boat. The region is home to tribes of boggards and kobolds who are often fighting each other.

She also tells you that the Princess of the Market, Sabriyya Kalmeralm is interested if anyone can make a trade agreement with the two tribes for people to pick valuable herbs which she can then sell.

She asks Lady Heidmarch, "What about the ioun for the shard of lust? Do we have any idea what we might need for that one?"

"Lady Heidmarch, do you per chance know of or perhaps even happen to have a cartographer on staff? I ask so that we might get a map of the over land route to Lady's Light. I, for one, don't wish to get lost in the Varisian wilds."


Sheila is able to provide a basic map that will show you the way through the Mushfens. She advises that the mahority of the path is a rough trail although there are parts where you will need to wade through the swamp.

She is able to provide a bit more of a detailed map of the area immediately around the Lady's Light.(See Map 2) and call tell you the following:

Area A: An island inhabited by a grouchy half Orc called Maroux who lives as a hermit.

Area D: Troglodyte Caves

Area F: Boggard Village

Area H: Lady's Light statue. There is no obvious way in to the statur in this area.

After about 6 hours of trudging along on a series of poor roads and through swampland you eventually reach a trail leading towards the coast (see map- you are coming in at area A).

On a small island is a medium sized hut. A rickety looking but apparently sound wooden bridge crosses the water. Curls of smoke are visible coming from the chimney of the hut. The bridge is decorated with bleached humanoid skulls with weird sigils painted on them in crusty, reddish-brown dried blood.

Cooking smells pervade the area although the odour is not altogether pleasant.

"Not the most welcoming sight, is it?" Mem asks rhetorically. "I assume this to be the hermit. Perhaps he has useful information."
She calls out across the bridge, "Hello-oo-oo."

if he comes out she'll see if she can find out any information from him about the local inhabitants, particularly the boggards and goblins. If no one comes out, she'll ask Oster to make sure the bridge is safe before heading over to knock on the door. I'll go ahead and throw a diplomacy roll out to see what we can start with

After a few moments a foul tempered and nearsighted female half-orc appears with a raven familiar on her shoulder.

I tell you what I'll tell you what I know if you do something for me first.

There's an old shipwreck off the north coast of the larger isle to the west. Several patches of delicious and relatively rare seaweed known as kelpie's hair grows there. If you bring me a few clumps of it then I'll help you...Oh by the way I think the shipwreck might be haunted.

A ring of jagged coral surrounds the hull of this sunken ship. Its decks are thick with blooms of seaweed, particularly near the wreck's bow.

Following the others to the site of the shipwreck he keeps glancing worriedly about as if expecting danger to come charging out of the muck.
