I can't find anything about cloaking fields for ships, but you can get defensive countermeasures that make it more difficult for enemy scanners to target your ship.

Just to check, but can't we actually fire ALL our weapons? The laser cannons will take massive penalties, sure, but their maximum range is 50 hexes!

Great question! Weapons fire in their designated arcs, based on where they are mounted. So a fore weapons can fire in the forward arc, port and starboard on their arcs, and aft mounted to the rear. The turret is the only one that can fire around all 360 degrees.

You can combine a turret and a mounted weapon to fire against an enemy in the same arc, it's just two Gunnery checks (one for each weapon).

There's really nowhere to go. My whole state is going to get hit to one degree or another. I'd have to go to Tennessee to get away and with evacuation traffic that can take days. I have a good solid house and it should only be a category 2 when it reaches me so I'm just going to stay put and be safe. And hopefully I won't lose any power because I don't have a generator.

I'm a bit confused, sorry. Wasn't Exegara on the Endless Threnody, which we're shooting at? It feels like there's a series of events missing between my last post (firing the guns) and the GM post that follows it (Exegara handing me a data pad). Or did I just have it wrong in my head?

So Irma is heading strait for me now. This will be my last post until everything is over. No hard feelings about botting or even booting me. I'll post again with news after all this, assuming i have power or whenever power returns.

I'm alive! Thanks for all the kind thoughts. My in-laws lost power but my mom's place was pretty much fine. Same with the rest of my family and friends. Irma actually downgraded to a cat 1 and moved a bit east so we never got the eye of the storm like origionallu thought. My work is even fine despite being in a major flood zone. I'll try to get a post in tonight if possible or tomorrow as i'm still getting my life back in order.

You detect a gift from the gods... Thurston Hillman, lead developer for Starfinder Society scenarios, has written in that there is a misprint for the Loreseeker's stats. I've linked them up top as an update. Nothing major (their big front cannon blast would have still hit), but you can now apply a +1 bonus to two checks per round (See the Modifiers section). Enjoy!

Here's a good video review of the Captain Sonar board game to get you started, GM. I haven't gotten a chance to play it personally, but a good friend of mine who owns it (and whose opinions I often share) agrees that it's awesome. :D

I think there might be a gameplay video on the same site, or I might be thinking of one I saw on youtube somewhere

are we still level 1? if so, can we buy level 2 items or strictly level 1? even with my own copy of the CRB i still find item levels confusing for some reason.


Yep, still level 1, and so only level 2 items are available.

It may be helpful to think of it as a combination of both building reputation and ability to cut through the necessary red tape to get permits for certain items.

There also needs to be someone out there who has created a spreadsheet that lets you filter by item level for character creation - too many items that are too high of level to worth sifting through. I bet the SRD has it, or will soon.
