Paemil |
Paemil's eyes track along with the leopard as she picks up the scent. Looking back at his companions and their attempts to enter the closest mausoleum, he gathers his breath a moment before speaking up.
"Lumi finds fresh trail. Attention should be there." while gesturing to the shadowy figure of the cat in the distance. Stepping off, he begins to move toward Lumi- paying only a little attention to if anyone follows him.
As he approaches Lumi he calls out "ทำได้ดีเพื่อนของฉัน พักและเฝ้าระวัง"
Opening up his mind to the essence of nature, Paemil reaches out to see anything magical in nature.

Polo Took stands before a tomb of baroque marble. The 15-by-10-foot structure is constructed of superior masonry. Its sole ingress is an iron door. The tomb clamors for attention like a gaudy flag waving for a once noble house. Its most audacious feature is a sculpted badger that looms, gargoyle-like, above the door. The iron door is decorated not only with the Tullivor name and crest, but also with an elaborate arcane rune.
As Paemil and Tsuk Sach approach the spired mausoleum to the southwest, they see that this alabaster tomb evokes a past age of Galtan architecture, including a ten-foot spire atop a broad dome. Its awnings teem with sculpted white raptors. An iron gate bears the motto, “Last to Fall.” This mausoleum is a 15-by-15-foot tomb of superior masonry. Through the ironwork of its padlocked gate one can see that the tomb’s interior contains four sarcophagi but, alas, no apparent valuables.
As Paemil cast a spell that provides different information per round and as there is a potential for combat, I am putting the party in rounds.

Feelo begins moving towards the spired mausoleum as he calls upon Desna for aid.
"Desna, bless these travelers that they may act with your luck on their side!"
The small halfling throws his arms wide to the sky to bring Desna's blessing to all of his Pathfinder allies.

She has a loaded crossbow that she keeps aimed at the party as she speaks.

I offer you no threat, if you offer me none. I do not wish to end up like the noble- bound and killed and propped up on a mantle.
My name is Paemil, Druid of the Angol grove. This is my companion and friend, Lumi.
GM Valen |
Just realized I read the wrong stat block. The adventure calls for the woman to be human, but I like the flavor, so I am going to stick with her as an elf if there are no objections.
Also, botting Feelo - Feelo delays
A slight smirk begins to form on the woman's face as she listens to Paemil's words. "Greetings, Paemil and Lumi. I am the Lady Rhiannon Sarvios. It would seem we share a common affinity for animals."
Then, turning to Tsuk Sach. "If you truly wish to bring honor to family ancestors, then you may be able to help me. The Tullivor mausoleum contains an object rightly belonging to my family. If you help me retrieve it, you may earn the Sarvios’ gratitude."
The woman and her mount stay put, though her crossbow remains aimed in the direction of the party.

@ Lumi - I'm assuming Lumi is on delay as I assume the cat is awaiting instruction and, it may make sense to have the cat at same time as Paemil.
Updated Map with location of hawk and Sirius.
@ Paemil - Perception roll for Paemil was too low to spot hawk (although Sirius may have pointed it out). Also, generally try not to make assumptions for PCs, so feel free to have Paemil draw any conclusions you wish from Rhianon's words.
@ Sirius - It is not clear to me whether your character pointed out the bird to others or not. I'd encourage including some physical descriptions with the dialogue as it helps the rest of us visualize what your character is doing.
Looking at Sirius, the woman responds, "You have good eye-sight. Must be the elven-blood. Yes, Triumph is indeed with me, although I suspect that he would take offense at the idea of 'belonging' to anyone." She reaches down to stroke an ear of her white horse, "I know you feel the same, Zephyr."

When Feelo speaks, the woman’s eyes turn towards him, taking a moment to refocus in order to better make out the halfling’s form from among the lengthening shadow of the mausoleum spired , given greater lengthy by the slowly setting sun.
”The treasure of which I spoke rightfully belongs to my family," the woman says in response to Feelo. “The hated Laban Tullivor stole a family heirloom, a platinum chalice, from my family shortly before his death. While I welcomed the man’s death, as I would that of any one of the Tullivors, I do mourn the fact that the chalice was returned to my family as it should have been. I believe, instead, that Laban Tullivor had the chalice entombed with himself.”.
"Do you know dead person? Body has marks of Hawk on face, and you also befriend hawks."
Rhiannon unsuccessfully hides a smirk, before speaking. “I was here, praying at my own family’s tomb. I believe I heard something unpleasant just as you showed up.” Her words seem rather accusatory in tone.
I have this sword. Will I need it inside? Are there dangers?
“I have not been within the Tullivor tomb, but it is obviously trapped.” Rhiannon replies. “It does not surprise me at all a Tullivor commissioned a complex magical trap for the tomb, even while on his deathbed.”.
The woman pauses for a moment, as if in thought. She then proposes, ”Were you able to open the tomb, I might be willing to split with you any treasures found within, save for my family’s chalice, of course.”
As Polo creeps along with his crossbow, Rhiannon and each of her animal companions give a glance his way.

Nothing about the language used sounds familiar to Lumi, especially after the switch from Sylvan to Common. However, she senses Paemil's tension, and her eyes keep darting back and forth between the lady on the horse and Paemil.
His hands flash several signals, and instinctively Lumi follows him step by step- aware of the threat posed by both the rider and the horse.

Feelo |
Feelo considers Rhiannon's words. Ulisha said in her journal that she stole the chalice. Though Ulisha didn't say what the treasure in Tulliver's tomb would be, it couldn't be the chalice, could it? Not if Ulisha already stole that, right?
His brow furrows as he comes to a decision.
"Well, I think we should probably work together on this, then. What do you know about getting into the tomb? As a Sarvio, I imagine you must have some thoughts on the Tulliver's strategies?"
GM Valen |
"Well, I think we should probably work together on this, then. What do you know about getting into the tomb? As a Sarvio, I imagine you must have some thoughts on the Tulliver's strategies?"
“I know as much as you do, I’m afraid. It seems obvious that the front door is trapped. Tulliver’s strategies involve the discomfort and humiliation of his rivals. Whatever the trap does, I suspect that it is most unpleasant.”
The woman pauses for a moment, apparently being quite careful to calculate her next words. ”There is a stone bust of that hated man within this graveyard that speaks a riddle. But, if it is to be believed…” Rhiannon allows her words to hang in the air as she considers their audience and what implications might be drawn from them, “it would require the death of the Tulliver’s heir, Northis—Laban’s last son—to open safely.”
"I understand. Your witness of the happenings here must be important for the city watch. I will send for them for you"
Rhiannon watches Paemil and his companion closely, but makes no move to stop them. Instead she gives a knowing smirk and says with certain emphasis, ”Send for the watch if you wish. I suspect that they will be quite slow in coming this night and that my activities here, will already be long finished before their arrival.”
"This One wonders," Shruti says of themselves, "Whether you have some way to enter the tomb?"
”I know of no other entrance than through the trapped iron door.” she responds. ”But you all appear to be rather capable of handling any hazards that may still be posed by entering through that way.”
How very fortunate for you that while you were here praying we happened to come along to enter to tomb for you. Saves you the trip back.
“Very fortunate, indeed. Recovering stolen property can be dangerous work.” she replies.
With a slight jab from Rhiannon, her horse, takes a few steps back. 5 ft. step
From atop her steed she considers the assembled adventurers a moment longer, then lowers her crossbow.
“So then, are we in agreement?” The woman proposes, ”Shall we enter the tomb together?”

"Very well. Let's go." Feelo turns and begins walking towards the tomb with the spire.
She may still try to ambush us once we have the tomb open, but we're clearly at an impass now.
"There's a riddle that makes me think we need to get the setting sun to shine on the bust. That spire is in the way. Can you think of a good way to get it down?"
Shruti Afshur |
"If we are in agreement that we shall work together to retrieve this trinket, then This One thinks it might be appropriate for us all to lower our weapons." With the woman apparently behaving amicably, Shurti's words are directed at her companions more than the woman. For her part, she loosens her grip on her spear and leans it against her shoulder, the butt of the weapon resting in the dirt of the cemetery.
Polo Took |
Polo overhears, Shruti Afshur and lowers his cross bow while slowly standing up from his concealed position. Um...hi there, Polo waves meekly to Rhiannon. can't be too careful these days eh? Polo ask with one eyebrow raised. Polo respects his companion's wishes to co-operate but, he is still wary of the horse woman Rhiannon's intentions. sense motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 Well, let's go see about this trapped tomb shall we?...Um which one is it by the way? I found the bust. It says "When the last sun falls upon this spot, receive my thanks". It is over that way, beside the corpse of the young man. Tsuk indicates the direction with a wave of his left hand (the one not holding the greatsword currently)
GM Valen |
"There's a riddle that makes me think we need to get the setting sun to shine on the bust. That spire is in the way. Can you think of a good way to get it down?"
In response, Rhiannon quietly repeats to herself the words, ”sun” and ”shine”, as she seems to thoughtfully consider Feelo’s words. She turns away from the party to look at the spire atop her family tomb and the glowing clouds alit by the setting sun. She fixes her gaze upon them for several moments, then sighs and shakes her head.
Turning her gaze back towards the party, she says with some force, “Surely, you aren’t suggesting that I would allow you to desecrate the tomb of my own family.”
So, I take it that you are responsible for the body on the bust then?
Taking us out of rounds as there appears to be an agreement. Sorry if going into rounds slowed things down, but I wasn’t sure how the party would react to the NPCs and, I also wanted to convey the tension.
“Who’s to say?” Rhiannon responds, unconvincingly, as she descends from her mount. Although there remains tension in the air, the noble woman has obviously lowered her guard a fair bit, seemingly satisfied with the agreed upon arrangement.
”Perhaps it was the work of a pack of tomb raiders, dressed identically to yourselves.” she adds, sharply. “The testimony of a Sarvio holds a lot of weight in this town. We may be working together to secure the treasures stolen by the late Tullivor, but do not forget for a moment just who it is that you are dealing with.”
When Polo waves, she responds with a dismissive glance.
She stows her crossbow and waits for each of you to put your weapons away. She rests her hand on the hilt of her sword until the party complies.
Assuming you do...
Then, she walks her mount over towards the stone pedestal that holds the bust of Laban Tullivor, paying scant attention to the body that now lies at its base.
A falcon, which had been hiding among the statuary on the spired mausoleum, now swoops down over Sirius’ head, seeming to greet the woman before flying up to perch on the nearby tree.
Map updated with locations of NPCs and moved Polo in front of bust as described.
When Polo poses his question to the bust, a permanent magic mouth activates, reciting the riddle: “When the last sun falls upon this spot, receive my thanks.”
I’m enjoying the roleplaying. Keep it up!

"Perhaps someone took the message in the wrong way. This One wonders if someone believed the 'last son' to be the last male child. An easy mistake, if an unfortunate one."
Paemil |
Seeing the tide turn between his companions, Paemil releases the tension in his shoulders. A tentative truce is still a truce...
Hands flash, and Paemil watches Lumi back down and slowly return to his side.
