You do well, it's weird how this is apparently your first of them judging from post count

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

@Seth, I realized I messed up rolled one of your knowledge rolls, giving you +2d6 instead of +2. This was an error on my part, but I will still give you information that you got for that messed up roll.

To Seth, Knowledge of Agatha Agnes:
The Agnes family has always been involved in the trade of raw materials from mines, the Agnes Mining Company being one of the largest ventures in Flameberge. The family has had a penchant for finding silver. The parents of Agatha and Darius died in a cave-in during a visit to one of their mining operations, some say the event was orchestrated by bitter workers of the mine. At 14, the Agnes twins took the head of the family.

Known to have a slight drinking problem, though she is by all accounts functional. There are rumored to be many men who have proposed to her after hearing her sing, though she has turned away every single one. A strict contrast to her brother, she is by all accounts serious and business oriented until she finds a drink.

To be honest, I don't think I will be able to keep up with this pace for very long. On the other hand, I also don't think you will be able to keep up this pace for very long, so I'm not worried about asking you to slow down.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Currently on a break from college, in the next couple weeks it will surely slow a bit. Not a worry at all and I am glad you told me.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

Last I checked I have 20 posts a day for a little over two years.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Well, I'll see about slowing the pace down a bit, maybe going for a larger, more detailed single update instead of multiple small ones. I don't want anyone to feel left out, PM me if you got any suggestions or concerns.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Will update tonight, currently working on fixing every computer problem that has accumulated in my absence from family. Will probably be a late night/early morning update.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Traveling Saturday/Sunday, expect an update sometime in this period, I'll hold off a moment to let people update.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Posts are up, sorry for the delay. Internet was down at home. Should be able to keep a daily update +a bit more if needed.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

@Halcyon Would you like me to give you the dagger's info and you can make a post, or go over the history and just say you recounted it? Don't mind either way.

Also, highest roll I have ever seen at this level.

I apologize in advance for not posting recently. I lost my job which has led me to scramble to get things in motion to keep my bills paid. I will be getting a post up tonight to keep things moving.

Once again I apologize. Life throws a curve ball every now and again.

I emphasize, though as I still live with my parents it's not quiiiite so much an emergency to me (still sucks though)
In any case, get a post in whenever you can, just remember real life comes first, we all understand that.

I think you meant to use the word empathize. Empathize is to understand how someone is feeling, emphasize is to give importance to something.

Yes, sorry, typo.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

No worries Nishara, real-life is a priority and please don't feel forced to play if you feel you can no longer do so. That said, the game always has a spot for you,if you ever need a break just tell me.

Classes start again for me starting today, I'll have a post up by tonight. I'll try to keep updating as I can, expect 4-5 updates a week.

What is the scale of the map? Halcyon's radius of vision is 30' so I want to have an idea what she can see from a given vantage point. For instance, would she have been able to see de Beaux's sister leave the table and go upstairs. Also, would Halcyon have been introduced to the sister prior to dinner? Thanks.

@Nishara: do what you gotta do. With a campaign like this, when a player is unable to post due to real life, we can easily assume the character is likewise busy elsewhere in the campaign.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Update hopefully tonight, it turns out Wednesday/Thursdays are my bad days. I'll try to get something everyone's way before I head to bed.

Edit: Halcyon I have heard your plea and added a formal scale to the map. In addition, you now have a view range indicator on your character (the orange circle) seen on the map. As for the d'Beaux sister, let us assume you were introduced, but given her character you hardly know much besides that she is a meek, modest oracle.

Double Edit: All characters in the map are now in there place, you will only see ones who you can physically see. I will be taking NPC tokens off the board if you no longer see them.

Many thanks for the map changes. My work schedule is changing starting next week. I'll be mostly busy only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, although I may get to post a little in the afternoons.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

I actually embarrassingly read my own map wrong. The staircase in the Lounge room(s) lead upstairs, not downstairs, so Vincent Durant did not enter them and magically appear on the first floor. Let us assume he entered, realized he took the wrong entrance, and went back towards the first floor staircase in the corridor/hallway in the second floor.

Sorry if this caused confusion for anyone.

There is a big difference between the demands of moderating a combat scene (or a pre-written adventure module or path) and what this campaign is attempting. This is on the level of fiction writing. I know from experience that writing well takes effort and it's not something you can do (or at least do well) if you are burned out or short on time.

So bravo for what you're attempting and don't worry about the schedule. It's a very good experience so far.

Why thank you! I'm still going through everything and have no questions so far.

I had a fruitful conversation with Valentina while you guys were still at the table. :) Where has she been, now that you mention it?

Post will come today. I am sure PC conversations will occur once more when I round everyone together/when networking is over.

I have not been giving the posts a close reading if they do not involve Halcyon. So I look forward to sharing tidbits once we are back in the same room. I assume Lucia will convey some things she's learned about Halcyon and other guests as well as our host to Seth. Once we are again around the same table enjoying dessert, we will all have interesting things to share. I'll eventually read the posts, but I think it will more fun to see how everyone filters the information when they dicuss things directly.

I'm reading a fascinating book that everyone in this game might find a worthwhile read. I am into the second book of the Baroque Cycle trilogy by Neal Stephenson, called The Confusion, which is actually two books interleaved about events happening to characters introduced in the first book but now widely separated by fate.

The books are a kind of historical fiction, weaving together real people and events taking place in the late 1600s. The books are mammoth, but well worth the time to read. The first book included such interesting topics as the aftermath of a major battle from the perspective of a vagabond/mercenary who rescues an English woman from the Turks. Together they cross paths with Leibnitz and his efforts at improving mining methods, among other things. The woman, Eliza, eventually becomes involved in the intrigue surrounding William of Orange and his bid to become the king of England. In the process, we learn fascinatig details about how the concept of a stock market evolved and was used to affect France's war efforts. Eliza becomes a spy and uses an intriguing code to keep track of things, using embroidery and an obscure language.

The second book has already outlined some of the fascinating details of how the slave trade was managed as well as foundations of modern banking involving ledgers recording who owned what in place of hard currency. It also describes in some detail what merchants had to go through to make a purchase of lumber in one part of France and get it transported to another part. It also gives insight in to court intrigue and how nobles got and lost their titles and all the tawdry details of bastards and inbreeding.

In short, it is describing many of the things this campaign is delving into.

Valentina, tell me where to go and I will take you there. I can give you a small update before I do a universal one. I can do that for Nishara too to get everyone back to speed.

On the note of the book, I loved Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash, so I will have to investigate this! Thanks Halcyon!

My favorite as well. Remember how Stephenson spent many long chapters in Snowcrash going into details of Sumerian mythology? Well in the Baroque Cycle, he does the same thing but for all aspects of life in the 17th century. If you've read Cryptonomicron (also very good), it has several characters who are descendants of characters in the Baroque Cycle.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Valentina, would you like to make an alias for your bot and operate it as Seth does Lucia? Or do you want me to do it? I see it has 100% under your control and would operate it as such, so its your call really.

female human rogue 2 | hp 18/18, AC 16, touch 13 FF 13 | CMD 14 | Fort +1, Ref +6, Will +0 | Perception +5, Init +3

I mean, I can probably operate my bot most of the time from my own profile. It's unlikely to be separated from me, it's not a person and so is unlikely to have RP interactions...an alias seems a waste.

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Yup, just wanted to make sure. No need to make an alias if you don't think you will need it. If you ever need information on what it hears (as surely it hears things if you are in a different room) just ask in a post/discussion and I will make a robo-report.
EDITS:
@Raphael. I am loose with the time, as some actions seems to take more space that other ones. I am going to check again and do some brief math, but I would put it at ~10:20. I'll make a confirmation of that in the next universal post.

@Tina, tell me if there is anything more you need. I'll include your reaction to your lead-in as part of the universal one.

@Nishara, I missed your edit. I have kept you in the smoke room thus far, just for the sake of autonomy. You can act however you like from here, finding your brother included. I am giving you a couple minutes in-game rewind to act as you want to catch up.

Will do small updates for Nishara and Valentina to catch them up a little, everyone else will have to wait for a larger update.

Writing an update right now, sorry about the delay. Halcyon, would you like me to do a "Halcyon tells her story..." and then follow with Caroline's reaction, or would you rather tell it yourself?

Party Warehouse Map | Second Warehouse Map

Updated.

@Halcyon, you can still choose to tell the story how you wish or just do a quick summary.

@Raphael, small posts are good! Glad to still hear from you.

I am happy with how this is going so far. My first play by post, a bit slow, and takes a bit of time for me to write things, but I am really enjoying it. There is a direction the party/game will take soon, I promise it isn't all walking around and finding who interests you.
