'Gar' Duncrick |
"The moaning is from under these wood panels."
Gar pulls out his small tools to work at an edge of one of the panels. If that fails he will us his adze and bust through.
Dorin Zstel |
"Hey," Dorin called from near the huge body. He had unsheathed his dagger and was about to plunge it into the neck of the creature. "things down here have to be cut up, remember? They heal quick. Don't want any surprises." With that, he proceeded to cut off the green thing's head from its' neck.
Kast Phaer |
Kast will begin to gakk the zombies with his reach weapon.
Going to one pit at a time and enlisting Malc's help, he will carefully uncover every pit and kill what he sees (if there are more zombies in the pits).
'Gar' Duncrick |
Gar quickly puts it back. "Can't say I am an expert on all things, but whatever is done there is dead, hungry, and beyond our saving it. I wouldn't walk here..here...and in these areas. Might be we were supposed to fall down in there." Thus Gar will point out the wood panel areas and have the group walk around the edge of the room. Until, that is, that Kast and Malcolm swing into action.
"Dorin, anything special about those weapons it was carrying? They sure hit me hard enough."
Still at 6 hp if we can spare a shot or two from the wand.
Dorin Zstel |
Dorin, finished cutting the green monster, looked up. "Oh. Weapons. I forgot." (Look over the body for weapons.)
When Kast and Malcolm started opening pits and trying to get at the zombies, Dorin stood up. "Zombies? I have a spell for that - one the caravan elders were impressed with!" With that, he went over to the pit Kast had opened and waved his hands, pointing at the zombie. "Disrupt Undead!" Dorin shouted. (Obviously less than 25 feet distance.)
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Dorin laughed at the effect his effortless purple ray (From the Ruins of Myth Drannor PC game) was having on the helpless undead. "This is easy!" he told the others. "I can do this all day! Like apples in a barrel! Open another pit, Malcolm!"
(There's 11 zombies under the pits, if I read the map correctly, robin. Do I really have to roll for each?)
robin |
Dorin laughed at the effect his effortless purple ray was having on the helpless undead.
Are you quite well , Dorin ?
It is not necessary to roll anything . The zombies can not counterattack so they are dispatched with ease while Dorin cackle ...As for the weapons , at first sight , the long sword and the axe are both masterwork and the dagger is silver. But the name Koruvus ring a bell and you remember that Shalelu spoke of it . And yep the sword is magic !
Kast Phaer |
After the zombies are dispatched, Kast will rest on his ranseur, panting and rubbing his leg. As he tries to catch his breath, he will try to recall what he knows of the name "Koruvus".
I wish Zees were here, he might remember things like this.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Knowledge (Arcana) +7, Knowledge (Dungeoneering) +7, Knowledge (History) +7, Knowledge (Local) +7, Knowledge (Nature) +7, Knowledge (Planes) +7, or Knowledge (Religion)

After we have cleaned up the loot and searched a bit, Kast will lead the group to the other way to go.
I think it's the South door a ways back.
'Gar' Duncrick |
It looks like there is a little room just south of the previous room we just came through, or we can go south from this room. I say check the little room and then head south from here.
Gar leaves the others to do their worst against the undead. He will pick up the MW handaxe, "Its got a nice balance to it." as he tucks it into his belt.
Dorin Zstel |
Dorin, done with the zombies in the pits, goes back to the green monster they defeated. "Shalelu spoke of a Koruvus. But she was talking about the gobins. This" the boy gave the carcass a kick, "was a goblin? What happened to it?"
(Gar, the little room (AM11, AN11, AO11) was the one with the strange deformed skeletons.)
"The sword is magic, Gar. The dagger is silvered. I'll take that, if nobody wants it. And I think we should continue." Dorin said. He looked up and over his shoulder. "A prison, torture chamber, and holding pen. This place is evil, but we knew that. There's still that doorway to the south. We haven't finished."
map is undersandpoint round
Kast Phaer |
Kast jumps up as he remembers!
"Ah, by Irori's burning incense!! I remember now." Kast looks to the group.
"It's what Shalelu told us: "Koruvus is a champion of the Seven Tooth tribe, who is as well known for his short temper as he is for his prized possession—a magic longsword sized for a human that the goblin stubbornly kept as his own (despite the fact that it was too large for him to properly wield)." Kast picks up the longsword and points to it.
"But Shalelu said Koruvus was a goblin! And this here is no ordinary goblin! It's been mutated and changed a bit...or are all the goblins the same way? Anyway...some pieces are coming together. The quasit and the goblins and Tsetsu were all working together. On something. Right? RIGHT!?" Kast looks at the rest to see what they have to say.
'Gar' Duncrick |
Gar looks at Kast and Malcolm. "There is the matter of his magic sword. Seems one of you two should put it to use. Might be downright handy and grow you an extra arm."
"But yeah. One Goblin chief. One sea cave. One corpse. Looks like everyone has come to regret dealing with that Quasit."
Gar will head south peer into the hall, then move to the door for a listen.
Perception in hallway to east -> 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Perception listening at door -> 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Perception looking for traps on door -> 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Disable traps on door if needed -> 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
but first Gar needs a hit of two from the wand. Thinking Kast or Malc is carrying this. Should make this a known thing in case it is needed in the heat of battle.
CLW wand -> 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
CLW wand -> 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
That gets him to 14. 48 charges left on wand.
Kast Phaer |
Uhm, sure. Kast was somewhat excited about his ranseur, Quasit's Bane, but is happy to take possession of the true soldier's weapon, the longsword.
"I can use the sword?" Kast asks, his eyes growing big.
"I mean, it's magic, right? And *I* get to use it?" Kast makes a few cuts in the air, testing out the blade.
"Wow. This is amazing. Thanks."
Like a soldier...with his own sword! And it's magic!
Kast looks around for Zees to show him his blade, but crestfalls when he remembers that Zees is not around.
Dorin Zstel |
Dorin took in the talk between the others. Hmmm...I need a better weapon too. Maybe a magical light crossbow, the quasit's tiny dagger that could fly back by itself was too small...no! Must raise Ameiko! The boy shook off the woolgathering and went to go pick up the torch he had dropped, then slung his crossbow on his backpack again.
"Maybe the quasit changed the goblin, you know, to make it more like those demon creatures we fought." he said. Dorin went to help Gar look down the other corridor to the south, and cast Dancing Lights down the stone passageway to illuminate it.
robin |
The passageway on your left end in stairs going down
The door open on a strange room which has the form of a room without any corner . The walls are plated in sheets of a red metal . Every once in a while some sort of black lightning appear on the surface and form thessalonian runes which might be words before disappearing again . The room is not empty since floating in the air are some items ( a book, a scroll case , a bottle , the corpse of a black raven with maggots floating around it and a wand ...
Kast Phaer |
Kast looks at the floating garbage and wonders what keeps them afloat.
"Anyone have a butterfly net?"
Kast will look around, deciding whether he's going to step in.
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18 Perception
Kast will hold the Wand CLW and keep track of charges. Duly noted on my profile. 48 charges left. Feel free to use it at your discretion, no need to ask each time. Kast (as long as he is standing and not in combat, will be happy to use it repeatedly as necessary.
'Gar' Duncrick |
"Here..a little trick when up on a spar and a rope is out of reach"
Gar drops his back and takes off his shirt. "Normally I would use the shirt like a whip to wrap the rope but these require something a little different. Point that Goblin-poker down here." To the end of Kast's ransuer, Gar ties his shirt in two places near the end like it were a flag and then a sleeve further down the shaft. "There a little jib sail when you swish it. Should do the trick....but try not to get the maggots on me shirt."
robin |
Despite some mishaps , you succeed in retrieving the items from the room. The raven , the book and the bottle are not magical but the others are

The bottle is in fact a bottle of wine as Ven Vinder might sell
The book has a leather cover and is written in a language unknown to Dorin
Kast Phaer |
Kast will look over the book.
Zees might like this. Ah yeah. Kast frowns.
* * *
"Well, that was fun." Kast says and he undoes Gar's makeshift butterfly net and returns his shirt to him. "Down the steps then?"
Kast will lead the group down the steps when they are ready.
Dorin Zstel |
(The corridor with the statue sounds good, Kast. I don't think we were down here earlier - the quasit met us beforehand, and the second time we went straight to the prison to free Gar and Malcolm. So this corridor with the statue that we took the ranseur down from is new.)
Dorin, still holding the flickering torch, sent down another Dancing Lights ahead of Kast to light the way.
'Gar' Duncrick |
"Bah. Who decorates this pla..." Gar musings are cut off by a scream that seems to pierce his skull.
