Felix Gral |
These guys are determined to not provoke any AoOs, eh? lol
"Not today." Felix said as he easily deflected one of the cultist's attacks. He uses the momentum of his block to step up behind the enemy facing the dwarf and takes a swing...
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 = 15
...that goes wide. Or I assume it does. Will retcon damage if need be
5' step to flank one of the cultists between Rockjaw and I. Even though I missed at least he gets a flanking bonus now too xD
GM_Rorek |
The cultist senses your blade coming and is able to edge up just enough to get out of the arc.
The cultist to the far left of the room( from the doorway) moves up to Bill and swings his mace wildly.
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Unfortunately for him, you manage parry his swing with your shield.
The cultist left in the hallway once again raises his unholy symbol and channels the powers of his dark gods once again.
channel: 1d6 ⇒ 5 all but Felix again, DC 13
The cultist felix struck at turns as his partner moves to block Felix's way towards the man at the back wall. They swing there weapons in slashing arcs meeting at the middle, seemingly impossible to dodge.
The last free cultist in the room takes a 5' step behind you to block your way.
attack1: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 2 = 12
attack2: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 2 = 20
you manage to block one with your blade, but the others maces catches you in your ribs. You feel one of your ribs give and a faint cracking noise is heard as the full force of his blow lands home.
Ouch.
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Metal Bill Smth |
will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Bill takes the blow on his shield, deflecting the blow to unbalance his foe, then retaliates with his hammer. And again the fire within reduces the effect of the cold antilife energy. 2HP taken
warhammer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
POSSIBLE CRIT!!!
crit confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
YES!!!
damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (1, 4, 8) + 9 = 22
The cultist, off balance because of Bill's deflection of his attack exposes himself for a second. But a second was all bill needed as his warhammer slams the side of his head.
Arryn Dawood |
Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Arryn grits his teeth and lets fly at the channeling cultist with hook and torch.
Hook: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 1 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 non-lethal
Free Intimidate check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
If enough, Arryn summons a wild look in his eyes, promising extreme torture and sinister deeds with the prongs of his grappling hook, causing the man to be frightened for 1 round.
Torch: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 1 = 21
Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 +1 fire
GM_Rorek |
Bill- As you counter attack your off balance opponent your hammer strikes true. Such force and full contact did you land with your blow that his head burst asunder, leaving nothing but a stub. Torag has truly gifted you this day.
Arryn- The man crumbles to the ground in a heap, his cloths lite fire but he does nothing to put them out.
Rockjaw the Relentless |
Finally got a chance to look at the roll20 battlemap, I assume that I am the spiky dwarf right below Felix XD Ill have to get you a new icon soon, or, better yet, just use this characters icon, it will work well.
Next, it looks like it is my turn :)
Will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Rockjaw could not help but feel the hebejeebes radiating from the bad man :( He would have to deal with him soon, but for now, he drew his hammer, the idiot in front of him was going to die...
move action, draw weapon, attack the acolyte in front of me.
Hammer Smash!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Pain!: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Modifiers: power attack -1/+2, rage +2/+2, +2/+0 flanking.
Assuming that the last 16 hit...
Rockjaws arc flies upwards and catches the acolyte across his chin, completely demolishing the lower half of his face and dropping him like a stone. A tall stone XP
Rockjaw then steps crosswise, bearing ever closer to the man at the wall...
5-ft step diagonally upwards and leftwards
Nitrus-Shortspark |
Nitrus lines up his attack, aiming for a space where he can hit 2 of the attackers with his explosive splash, and not hitting his allies!
Throw!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 I marked it with blue cross. 6 splash dmg

As you begin to finish off the mooks. The wizard turns around, holding what seems to be a heart in his hands.
ah, Finished. hmmm. Such a shame, but, what can you expect of those so desperate.
he extends his hand and a sickening green beams slowly extends from it, wrapping the last cultist within it. The cultist begins laughing manically as if he enjoyed this. He began to shrink and when the last bit of green energy faded he was nothing but a skeleton.
Thank you, I had intended for your life forces to be the wick for the finishing ritual, but theirs will do just as well. He pulls out a wand but pauses for a split second.
Do come to the basement, or don't. Its fine to be afraid. hahahahahahah.
With that, the wizard begins to fade away.
Felix Gral |
I'm assuming the skeleton falls down but if it stands I'll overrun it if I have to xD
Felix stepped back as one of the cultists is seemingly absorbed by whatever the leader held in his hand. As the wizard began to fade away Felix called out "Oh no you don't!" Before the skeletal remains of the cultist hit the ground Felix was charging for the Wizard, his katana slicing down.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 B!+~+%%s. Only valid if he doesn't have Mage armor or anything up yet which...actually might be possible so lets see lol.
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 +5 str, +2 for two-handed wielding, +2 power-attack
Felix Gral |
Surprise surprise xD
"Damn it." Felix cursed under his breath before turning back towards the others. "Looks like there's more then just undead here. Any idea who that was?" Felix phrased his last question towards Daniel as he pulled a flask from his pack and drank its contents.
Potion of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Rockjaw the Relentless |
oh im aware :) we also did not SEE him kill that cultist ;) just that he shoved him into the other room. I also had the option of walking around the cultist, provoking an AoO to get to the wizard, but i was curious what would happen if we were late :)
My cureosity is going to kill me soon :(
As the wizard fades, Rockjaw rushes at him yelling..
But wha about tha hole by Tundar!!
Felix Gral |
Felix looked around. "Wait, where is Daniel?" he asked. When someone pointed towards the doorway into the previous room Felix headed that way, poking his head inside the room Daniel had disappeared into. "Daniel?" he called out.
Incoming hordes of zombie things!
Metal Bill Smth |
Bill looks at the body of the man he had just killed. Tragic.
How could someone become evil like that. And that...wizard, evil priest, Necromancer? How did he escape?
spellcraft to identify the spell used to escape: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
what have we gotten into?Sighing he turns to the others when Felix calls Daniel's name
What's wrong with Daniel? he says, concern in his voice.
GM_Rorek |
As you enter and call out his name, a wheezy laugh comes from somewhere in the middle of the floor. Upon closer inspection you see it is the cultist Daniel
hehehehe.. *gasp* Ye friend took a weee tumble afore he gutted me he did..... The master's probably already got em down there. *wheeze* For his sake, you should hope he's dead.
As he utters his final mocking laugh he slumps down and becomes quite still. You see up further a bit a large hole going seemingly straight down. Much like the one from the first floor.
@bill, you believe it was some type of teleportation like effect. But are not entirely sure, You are sure it was not a divine spell though.
Nitrus-Shortspark |
If Nitrus can heal him before he dies, he will, otherwise, the gnome will just kick the corpse and mutter something about betrayers and what they deserve
Nitrus-Shortspark |
Fix him Up: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
GM_Rorek |
You manage to patch up the cultist just before his death, but he is unconscious at the moment. As you are patching him up, Arryn lights a torch and drops it down the hole.
Anyone around the edge can see it goes straight into the hole in the first floor. There are also Several blood stains around the edge, unlock the relatively clean first floor hole.
So, at this point, you have several option open, go ahead and talk/do what your character will be doing.
Metal Bill Smth |
[b]Felix, you have taken quite a hit. Let me see if I can help with that.
Bill casts a cure spell on felix, speaking the harsh words of ignan. Felix feels a sudden warmth as his wounds reduce.
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Metal Bill Smth |
Bill smiles at that, oh I'm really good at falling. It's the landing I'm terrible at. And noisy.
He then looks over the drop. that's quite a drop
Felix Gral |
"Aye..." Felix agrees with Bill before turning to exam the rest of the room for an easier way down than simply falling. Assuming nothing is found Felix goes to check the other rooms for anything that might be beneficial.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Nitrus-Shortspark |
What do we do about the traitor?
Felix Gral |
Felix looked over at Nitrus then down at the cultist. "You saved him, you decide. If it was me I simply would have put him out of his misery. Assuming he does survive he'll just end up getting executed most likely. Unless he has some incredibly useful information." With that thought Felix walks over to the cultist and attempts to wake him up. "Hey, how does one usually get to this 'basement' of yours?" he asks him at the first sign of activity.
Felix Gral |
I wasn't worried about tying him up considering I could grapple him without much trouble lol
Felix puts pressure on the cultist's wound the man's wound. "Listen you, one of my friends is down there so you tell me the quickest way down or you're going straight through that hole and I'll decide if it's safe depending on the sound you make at the bottom." Felix's voice is barely able to contain the anger he feels and he truly considered carrying out his threat.
Felix Gral |
Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 Good enough. I doubt his wisdom modifier is high enough to make a DC above a 20 lol. I'm going to assume this cultist doesn't weigh 300lbs lol
Felix drags the cultist to the edge of the pit and pulls his rope from his pack. Taking one end of the rope he ties it securely around one ankle of the cultist and wraps the other around his arm before shoving the man into the pit and bracing himself against the sudden tug as the cultist reached the end of the rope, suspended upside down by a single leg.
"Now listen, this rope is plenty strong but my grip might not be." Felix releases a bit of the coiled rope to drop the cultist another foot or two. "So I suggest you talk quickly before I get tired."
Felix Gral |
Felix sighed. "Let me guess, you don't know how the master gets down there either, do you?" With that he began to hoist the cultist back up over the edge and recovered his rope from around the man's ankle. "You people are the worst helpers I've ever seen. Making your master do all the work while you sit up here being lazy and bleeding like a pig." Felix turned towards Nitrus, "He's all yours."
He turns back to the others. "So now what?"
Rockjaw the Relentless |
sorry, been kinda busy :p
Rockjaw looses a section of rope, looking at the cultist.
We take em with us. Ill carry him. Nothing else, he can be made an example out of.
With that he starts to tie up the cultist and then tie him around his back, looping the rope over his shoulders and waist like a backpack.
I say we head back down. Leas that way we got less distance to climb down. You good?
With that, 400 pounds of dwarf and rock along with 150ish pounds of human head towards those rickety stairs once more.
dang it, i dont think i can actually do that without going over my weight limit. Would you be willing to say he is a rather light cultist and im at my maximum heavy weight limit?
Other alternitave is that i drag him along the ground...
Metal Bill Smth |
Bill looks at the cultist. How could someone fall so low. Didn't he have a family, friends. Bill was looking at a different world, and he did not like it.
Rockjaw, just tie him up and leave him. He not going far, and he will answer for his crimes. We must prioritize here. He, unfortunately, is a low one. And he may warn he confederates.
Bill though was not certain of his words. Did he want to leave the cultist because of pragmatism, or because he wanted to be away from him.
Nitrus-Shortspark |
Was in a accident yesterday, so will post again after weekend. And yes, I'm okay. Just muscles and such that are sore. :)
Rockjaw the Relentless |
ya, that sucks :(
Btw Bill, dont you realize that as soon as we leave the goon alone he will either escape, become a reoccuring enemy or die a tradgic death? Theres no story to be had by simply just sitting there tied up!!
Metal Bill Smth |
As opposed to taking him with us, encumbering you and warning the enemy at every turn. Also if you are carrying him in a fight, he could flick around, giving you penalties. If we tie him up and leave him, he has to make an escape artist role or str check to get out. Also I'm lawful good so killing him is kinda out. You could punch to unconsciousness I suppose. And if he becomes a recurring villain, that's good from a story perspective
Felix Gral |
besides I'm pretty sure he just pissed his pants from being tossed into the pit. Not sure you want to carry that xD. I suspect that if we tie him up well enough he'll be stuck there for a while. Knocking him unconscious wouldn't be difficult either.
Arryn Dawood |
"If you want him knocked out, I can do it so's he sleeps until next week."
Arryn grins and hefts his grappling hook.
