Wesh the Summoner |
Thinking fast, Wesh points in the direction he can hear the Pee Goblin coming from and starts whispering in Goblin.
"Bu yaxın. O, mənim xəzinə işləyir. Bu şeylər üçün ən yaxşı gizlənmə yeri. Heç kim tapılmadı!"
"That close. He almost pee on my treasure. This best hiding place for stuff. No one EVER find!"
Bluff: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4, 4) + 4 = 14
Casting Message to the Goblin that just peed. Trying to lure it back to where it was. Hoping his greed will make him not tell the other two.
Milah Ashkenazi |
Milah smirks at Sileven's comment, then focuses on the situation at hand. "I will take the one on the right, but if he raises an alarm, I believe that is the direction more will come from; I might need your help," she nods at Wesh. She looks at Sileven and Ellyn, "You two take the two on the left; we can attack at the same time to maximize the chances of surprising them."
Stealth (ACP): 3d6 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (5, 2, 6) + 4 - 1 = 16
Milah moves forward as quickly and silently as she can, given her armor, and attempts to bring the single goblin down quickly!
Initiative: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) + 4 = 15
Standard action: Attack goblin
Attack (Rapier (threaten on 14-18)): 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 2, 2) + 7 = 13
Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
And the chaos of combat begins... luckily it wasn't a critical miss. Everyone else will need to roll initiative as well.
All at once the team moves into action, almost stumbling over each other in the process. They were new as a team and it showed. Hopefully this skirmish would help them learn to work together. Ellyn's chakram goes sailing by the goblin who is busy trying to figure out who was talking to him, cutting into the shrubbery instead of goblin flesh. The distraction is enough to allow Milah to finish him off quickly with a swift thrust from her blade. Now being in plain sight though, the feline woman is seen by the other two, who drop their dead bird and turn to grab weapons!
Round 1 (Surprise)
Goblins (17)- Surprised (Red 8 damage taken, Green, Blue)
Ellyn (??)- Sneak and Throw
Wesh (??)- Cast Message
Milah (15)- Stealth and Stab
Shalelu (14)- Ready to Fire
Sileven (??)-
Drek'Thar (??)-
Sileven and Drek'Thar are up for this round!
Drek'Thar |
Init: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 5, 2) + 7 = 20
Drek looks around, trying to find something useful to do. I can't find a battle map, so I don't really know who's where, but I'll give it a try. Sorry if I mess it up. He quickly thinks of Shalelu's bow, and invokes the totems of healing to help her.
Csting Invigorate + Adrenaline Surge on Shalelu. Basically, she gains 0 temporary HP and can use an Immediate Action to make an attack, move or other things.
Okay, let's see if I grabbed it. I've got 8 Spell Points total, and I've just spent one. I think I should roll 1d8 ⇒ 3 and so nothing is spent. Had I rolled a 1, I would spend 2 points and next time I would roll 1d6, right?
Milah Ashkenazi |
The battle map is one of the pages under the DM's name; click on RotRwT, then page 5. As for the spell points, that's correct as I understand it.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
This continues to d6, d4 and finally 1 item remaining. To know how much you have, reference the following:
1=1
2-4=d4
5-8=d6
9-13=d8
14-19=d10
20-29=d12
30+=d20 and subtract 30 from the total and determine another die type based on the chart above, so a Wand with 50 charges has d20+d12 charges.
In other words, the 8 spells points is actually 1d6 and then you only go down a die type if you roll a 1 or at the end of the battle. You always lose at least one die type at the end of any battle that you use your power, ammo, etc. Thank you for pointing out the map under my name, Milah. I should have made that clearer for the new folk earlier. Mea culpa. Rolling Sileven and Wesh's Initiative to keep us moving forward.
Wesh and Sileven Initiative: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 6, 6) + 4 = 203d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6) + 6 = 21
Shalelu, suddenly imbued with extra speed moves in a quick crouch to get a better sight line on the area. Sileven moves up behind the rest, ready to engage the goblins with his elven blades should they get any closer.
Round 2
Sileven (21)- <--- Here
Wesh (20)-
Drek'Thar (20)-
Ellyn (17)-
Goblins (17)- (Red 8 damage taken, Green, Blue)
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)- Aimed
Sileven, Wesh, Ellyn and Drek'Thar are up for Round 2!
Drek'Thar |
Drek stands waiting, in expectation for the goblins to close the distance.
Readied Action: Cast Affliction: Restore Health on the first goblin that gets adjacent to an ally. Fort save DC 15 or nauseated for 1d6 ⇒ 1 rounds.
Spell Points: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Wesh the Summoner |
You'll need to add another token for Wren. I assume my she goes after my turn?
Wesh and Wren step forward, Wren drawing her sword and placing herself in front of Wesh while he drew and loaded his crossbow.
Unwilling to move closer he instead moves into the clearing to the left, taking aim at the gap that the other goblins would need to take to attack them.
Sileven |
Moving forward enough to draw the goblins towards himself, Sileven readies an action to cut the first goblin that reaches him.
Movement halved by squeezing
Readied Attack w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (1, 3, 4) + 6 - 4 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
AC is also -4 for squeezing, so currently only +3 net
Defense if attacked to trigger readied action: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 2, 6) + 3 = 16
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Wren added.. for this battle, you can both go together.
Sileven continues to move forward, his blades putting up a front of elven steel, ready to cut down the first goblin to reach him. One of the goblins runs past screaming something as the other decides to loose an arrow at Milah.
Round 2
Sileven (21)- Readied
Wesh (20)- Moved
Wren (20)- Moved
Drek'Thar (20)- Readied
Goblins (17)- (Red 8 damage taken, Green, Blue)
Ellyn (17)- <--- Here
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)- Aimed
Round 3
Sileven (21)-
Wesh (20)-
Wren (20)-
Drek'Thar (20)-
Goblins (17)- (Red 8 damage taken, Green, Blue)
Ellyn (17)-
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)-
Ellyn and Milah to finish Round 2 and the rest of you can start round 3. Milah, I'll need a defense roll from you.
Milah Ashkenazi |
Defense (Squeezed): 3d6 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) + 9 - 4 = 16
Milah takes off - as fast as she can, anyway - in pursuit of the fleeing goblin and attacks!
Move action: As indicated on map
Standard action: Attack (green) goblin
Attack (Rapier (threaten on 14-18), Squeezed): 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (5, 6, 5) + 7 - 4 = 19
Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Critical Confirm (Rapier (threaten on 14-18), Squeezed): 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) + 7 - 4 = 14
Critical Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
The arrow misses and Milah easily dispatches the running goblin, but then comes almost face to face with more goblins answering his yells for help!
Everyone else is still up!
Drek'Thar |
Drek decides to incapacitate the goblin anyway, as it seems that Milah has discovered something. Shalelu or any other will be able to finish him afterwards.
Once more, Affliction, this time on Blue. Fort DC 15 or nauseated for 1d6 ⇒ 3 rounds.
Spell Points: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Sileven |
Seeing Milah's reaction and hearing the noise of the other goblins, Sileven moves into position to help protect the flank where reinforcements seem to be arriving.
Double move while squeezing
Defense w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (4, 4, 2) + 7 - 4 = 13 If you need it . . ..
Wesh the Summoner |
Wren moves to intercept the lone goblin guard, striking out with spear and claws.
Attack (shortspear): 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4, 1) + 3 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Attack (offhand): 3d6 - 5 ⇒ (6, 6, 6) - 5 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
If critical: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 5) + 3 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Meanwhile, Wesh moves towards where the others are gathering, hearing the other goblins moving in. He gets as close as he can.
Wren moves into range of the blue goblin.
Wesh moves diagonally from where he is with the aim of moving past Sileven.
I got the short sword and short spear mixed up. Wren has a short spear because she isn't proficient in martial weapons. Also penalties for her offhand attack are BAB-5 to hit and half strength damage.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Drek magic v. 14: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 6, 1) + 5 = 17
As soon as Milah runs into more goblins, Ellyn comes into the clearing to finish off the archer that tried to shoot Milah. Ellyn's chakram cuts deep into its neck as it drops to the ground. Wesh's eidolon arrives just in time to make sure the goblin stays down. With Drek's magic, he won't be getting back up any time soon. Even with that victory, it seems the goblins have more reinforcements as even more come charging out of the clearing towards Wesh, Milah and Sileven, waving sharpened pieces of junk and yelling. Two of them get close enough to Wesh to cut him.
Sileven (21)- Readied
Wesh (20)- Moved
Wren (20)- Moved
Drek'Thar (20)- Readied
Goblins (17)- (Red 8 damage taken, Green, Blue)
Ellyn (17)- Move and Throw
Milah (15)- Move and Attack
Shalelu (14)- Readied [/ooc]
Sileven (21)- Double Move
Wesh (20)- Double Move
Wren (20)- Move and Attack
Drek'Thar (20)- Cast Affliction
Goblins (17)- (Orange, Purple, Cyan, Green)- Attacking
Ellyn (17)-
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)-
@Wesh, I will need two defense rolls from you.
Ellyn and Milah to finish round 3, then the rest can start Round 4!!
Milah Ashkenazi |
Milah steps forward over the body of the downed goblin, then brings her raper to bear against the new arrivals.
Not an action: 5' step, as indicated on map
Standard action: Attack blue goblin
Attack (Rapier (threaten on 14-18), Squeezed): 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (3, 4, 6) + 7 - 4 = 16
Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Shalelu moves up as the rest of the party continues to press the attack on this group of goblins, another one falling to Milah's sharp blade. "These are Birdcrunchers, they usually fight against the Thistletop goblins."
Round 3 Complete
Sileven (21)-
Wesh (20)-
Wren (20)-
Drek'Thar (20)-
Goblins (17)- (Orange, Cyan, Green)-
Ellyn (17)-
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)-
The rest of you are up!
Sileven |
Dang it! Haven't dropped the pack yet, so 20' move, halved for squeezing. In order to get an attack in, I have to provoke. Guess I will.
Sileven scoots forward, getting past Milah so he can swing at the close goblin.
Defense for AoO I provoke: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (5, 2, 5) + 7 - 4 = 15
Once he's clear, the elf tries to skewer the goblin on his thornblade.
Thornblade attack w/ squeeze: 3d6 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (5, 6, 6) + 6 - 4 = 19
Tornblade damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Thornbalde confirm w/ squeeze & weapon: 3d6 + 6 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (6, 1, 5) + 6 - 4 + 2 = 16
Crit confirm damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 For 12 total, if confirmed.
Defense rolls in case needed:
Defense 1: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (3, 5, 4) + 7 - 4 = 15
Defense 2: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (3, 6, 2) + 7 - 4 = 14
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Sileven is easily able to dispatch yet another goblin, even in the confines of the brambles, his elven blade neatly separating head from shoulders. Even in their fervor, they can't seem to harm any of you, but yet another group of them is awaiting their turn to crash against your skills.
Wesh, Wren and Drek'thar still up!
Drek'Thar |
Sorry, I was totally broken when I got home yesterday.
Drek moves to benefit from the cover the bushes have to offer him, while invoking the spirits to bless one of the redhead twins... the one with the weirdest look, if that's a thing.
Invigorate (+0 thp) and Adrenaline Surge on Wren.
Spell Points: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Aw, man...
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
In the interest of moving along, botting Wesh and Wren. Drek'thar is down to 1d4 Spell Points.
WeshBot Daze v. Will: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 1, 5) + 4 = 15
Wesh waves his hands at one of the goblins and it pauses for a moment, as if pondering its relatively short life, giving time for Wren to make her way around to the fight, with the help of Drek'thar's Life Magic. The rest of the Birdcruncher goblins rush forward in an attempt to overwhelm your defenses, screaming as they go.
Sileven (21)- Move and Attack
Wesh (20)- Cast Daze on Green Goblin
Wren (20)- Triple Move
Drek'Thar (20)- Cast Invigorate with Adrenaline Surge on Wren
Goblins (17)- (Cyan, Green-Dazed 1 round, Red, Yellow, Crimson)- Move and Attack
Ellyn (17)-
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)-
The Crimson, Red and Yellow goblins have provoked an AoO from Wren, so you will get a free attack on any one of them, after that, you will need to make 2 Defense rolls against them, Sileven 1 Defense Roll and Wesh 1 Defense Roll. After that, Ellyn and Milah to finish the round and then we can start round 5, if the goblins live that long...
Milah Ashkenazi |
Milah thrusts with her rapier at the single goblin she can reach, efficiently skewering it.
Standard action: Attack yellow goblin
Attack (Rapier (threaten on 14-18), Squeezed): 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (4, 6, 5) + 7 - 4 = 18
Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Critical Confirm (Rapier (threaten on 14-18), Squeezed): 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (6, 3, 2) + 7 - 4 = 14
Critical Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
I see that now, Sileven. Teach me to go through a combat on cold meds. Anyway, you're good and you're up, along with Drek'Thar, Wesh and Wren.
Sileven |
Having a target immediately at hand, Sil unleashes both blades . . ..
Full Attack
Thornblade w/ Squeeze vs Red: 3d6 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (2, 6, 2) + 4 - 4 = 10
Slashing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Leafblade w/ Squeeze vs Red: 3d6 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (5, 6, 5) + 4 - 4 = 16
Slashing: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Confirm Leafblade w/ Squeeze & Weapon vs Red: 3d6 + 4 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1, 3) + 4 - 4 + 2 = 10
Slashing: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 7 total, in the unlikely event of a confirmation
As I doubt that will drop Red, Sileven will not try to inch forward.
More pre-emptive defense rolls. I'm providing them in order to help reduce slow-downs waiting on me to post.
Defense 1 w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (4, 6, 2) + 7 - 4 = 15
Defense 2 w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (5, 1, 5) + 7 - 4 = 14
Drek'Thar |
Knowing he's really low on spirit power, Drek decides to bring out his knife and expect for the worse. Some of those folks might need healing afterwards.
And Drek will be down to 1 SP after the combat. I think I miscalculated the cruelty of the consumable dice system.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is bad... that's why I'm testing it out with this campaign. Did we lose Wesh and Wren already?
Sileven fights with a goblin wearing a red scarf around its neck. It must symbolize something to the Birdcruncher clan, as the elf is unable to get through this one's defenses.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Everyone still here? I will bot Wesh and Wren again to keep us moving through this fight later on, but if they don't return, I will have to write them out so we can continue.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Awesome! As I said, will bot those two through this fight and go from there.
WrenBot AoO on Red: 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 5) + 1 = 111d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
WrenBot Defense w/ Squeezing: 3d6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (5, 1, 5) + 2 - 4 = 93d6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (3, 4, 4) + 2 - 4 = 9
WeshBot Defense w/ Squeezing: 3d6 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (5, 1, 6) + 6 - 4 = 14
Goblin Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 11d4 ⇒ 1
WrenBot Claws w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (4, 3, 6) + 2 - 4 = 113d6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) + 2 - 4 = 9
WeshBot Daze: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 4, 5) + 4 = 18
WrenBot Defense Round 5+ 1 Confirm: 3d6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (4, 3, 4) + 2 - 4 = 93d6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (1, 2, 1) + 2 - 4 = 23d6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) + 2 - 4 = 5
Goblin Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 32d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
The brawl ensues with the goblins, each hacking and slashing as you return in kind. It appears that the spirit of Wesh's sister is faltering under the assault.
Sileven (21)- Move and Attack
Wesh (20)-
Wren (20)- (9 damage)
Drek'Thar (20)- Draws Knife and Waits
Goblins (17)- (Cyan, Green-Dazed 1 round, Red 4 damaged, Crimson)- Attacking
Ellyn (17)-
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)-
Everyone is up!!
Milah Ashkenazi |
Milah moves into the empty space created by the goblin she felled and continues her assault!
Not an action: 5' step, as indicated on map
Standard action: Attack red goblin
Attack (Rapier (threaten on 14-18), Squeezed): 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (5, 5, 2) + 7 - 4 = 15
Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Sileven |
Also still here. I left work early yesterday, took a shower and went to bed, where I stayed for about 13 hours. Didn't eat yesterday and haven't eaten much today.
If Red's still standing, then Sil will attack Red, if not, he'll have to move into Red's space and attack Green (once and once only, since you can't 5' while squeezing. Can you?
Full Attack
Thornblade w/ Squeeze vs Red: 3d6 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (2, 6, 1) + 4 - 4 = 9 +2 for Standard attack vs Green
Slashing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Leafblade w/ Squeeze vs Red: 3d6 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (2, 4, 5) + 4 - 4 = 11 Not used versus Green
Slashing: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Drek'Thar |
Drek remains hidden behind the bushes, ready to attack any goblin that passes close by or cure any friend in dire need.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Correct, you can't 5ft step in difficult terrain, which Squeezing technically is.
The Red Scarfed Goblin is too busy paying attention to the elf and fire spirit in front of it to notice Milah's blade coming from the side and he is easily downed. Taking advantage of the confusion, Sileven moves forward to attack the dazed one, but it only serves to wake him out of his reverie.
While Drek is holding back, he hears something coming through one of the piles of thorns behind him...
Ellyn, Wesh and Wren are still up!!
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Wren withdraws from the fight, wounded, and her brother follows to see to her wounds. The goblins then focus their attack on Sileven, attempting to take him down before moving on to the rest.
Rejuvenate: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Sileven (21)- Move and Attack
Wesh (20)- Move and Cast Rejuvenate
Wren (20)- (1 damage) Withdraw
Drek'Thar (20)- Ready
Goblins (17)- (Cyan, Green-Dazed 1 round, Red 4 damaged, Crimson)- Attacking
Ellyn (17)-
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)-
Gogmurt(14)-
Ellyn and Milah are up again, I will need 3 more Defense rolls from you Sileven.
Sileven |
I thought I added a post with 3, just in case? I don't see it, either, honestly. IIRC, they were 14, 17, 14. I should get the same rolls if the post was eaten, right?
Defense 1 w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (3, 5, 3) + 7 - 4 = 14
Defense 2 w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (4, 5, 5) + 7 - 4 = 17
Defense 3 w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (6, 3, 2) + 7 - 4 = 14
Well, same numbers that I remembered . . ..
Ellyn Fields |
Ellyn sees the opening left by Wren and decides to use that, before the goblins do. She drops the Chakram and draws her second Shortsword while dashing forward, finishing with a strike at one of the goblins.
move two squares down-left, attack red goblin
attack: 3d6 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (3, 2, 5) + 6 - 4 = 12
damage : 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
defense, if needed: 3d6 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (4, 2, 5) + 8 - 4 = 15
Milah Ashkenazi |
Moved Ellyn; adjust as needed
Milah continues her assault, taking on the goblin foolish enough to enter the range of her rapier.
Standard action: Attack green goblin
Attack (Rapier (threaten on 14-18), Squeezed): 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (6, 5, 6) + 7 - 4 = 20
Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Critical Confirm (Rapier (threaten on 14-18), Squeezed): 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (1, 5, 5) + 7 - 4 = 14
Critical Damage (Rapier): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Must've gotten eaten, but no worries, still no hits on you Sileven.
As a team you press forward, felling another goblin and though the two in front remain fierce as ever, you can see the fear starting to grow in their beady eyes. That is until Shalelu shoots at the thing in the bushes. "That druid is back!" It returns fire with a bolt of flame that the elven woman easily dodges.
Sileven (21)-
Wesh (20)-
Wren (20)- (1 damage)
Drek'Thar (20)- Ready
Goblins (17)- (Cyan, Crimson)- Attacking
Ellyn (17)-
Milah (15)-
Shalelu (14)-
Gogmurt(14)-
Sileven, Wesh, Wren and Drek are up!
Sileven |
"Congratulations! We're currently busy!" Obviously unhappy to find the group facing foes from more than one direction, Sileven simply tries to do his job . . ..
Continuing to pick on the one in red, he tires to simplify the situation.
Full Attack

Defense 2 w/ Squeeze: 3d6 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (5, 3, 3) + 7 - 4 = 14
Drek'Thar |
Drek stays attentive to whoever this druid Shalelu speaks of is, and prepares for it. Invoking the spirits of life, he holds his hand, awaiting the proper moment.
Readied Action: Affliction on that druid when on sight. Will save DC 16. Fail=Nauseated, Success=Sickened, 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds.
Spell Points: 1d4 ⇒ 3
