The bullets fly as the creature comes free of the goo, barely paying attention to the flames on his body. Instead, they seem to help burn the sticky substance away.

His slowed movement brings him closer to Boreana, the scythe swinging in a deadly arc, catching the woman across her midsection as she finishes a pirouette. Even as she tries to return the favor, she is too far away to catch the creature with her own blade.

Another bomb explodes near the beast and nothing seems to slow it down.

As the creature closes with Boreana to collect her head, Jolanda reloads as fast as she can and Jominda gets another bomb ready. Khamul winds up with another stone and lets it fly, following the thunder and roar of the sisters’ weapons. Even with the mountain of flame and lead hitting this thing, it comes through it with one last swing, but Boreana, grit in her teeth, rolls past and stabs it through the throat. Its hard eyes stop, mouth agape in surprise. The great weapon clatters to the ground and a sickly smell rises up from the thing. Suddenly, you hear a great roar from inside the top of the tower. ”NOOOOO!”

The creature itself glows with a fading necromantic light in Khamul's eyes. The scythe it was holding retains its dark green glow however. Some of the rags he is wearing also give off a green glow, but this one seems to be more of a natural color.

Through the front door then? I will edit the map soon and we can start the assault on the clocktower.

Map is on page 11. I put you guys in the entry way.

You enter the bottom of the clocktower, with stone bricks and old timber lying rotted on the floor. Even though the dust has mostly settled, there still remains a haze in the room. Most of the interior of the tower is made of wooden supports and a rather old stair seems to climb its way to the top around the inner portion of the tower. Even from here, you can see that a few stairs are missing and the climb may be difficult, at best. So far, it appears you are alone.

Depending on how fast you want to go, it could take several minutes to half an hour or more. It is 9 levels to the top. As far as making it there…

As Jominda starts to grow tiny, stiff hairs out of her hands that will give her the ability to climb the walls, the rest of you start the treacherous climb up the tower stairs. Your chances at stealth are pretty much shot when the first creak happens and a couple of boards fall away on the way up. Steeling your resolve and continuing, you make a few jumps, trusting that the old stair will hold. You make it about halfway up when you hear the sound of a rope snapping and timbers cracking. Suddenly a giant bell comes hurtling from the top of the tower right at you!

@Boreana, please make a DC 26 Defense roll or take 18 damage from the bell and another 12 from the fall to the first floor.

Jominda is at level 7 at this point, the rest of you are at level 4.

"Unnhg", Boreana moans as she scrapes herself off of the floor, thankful that she wasn't pinned by the falling bell. She fishes out her trusty wand of healing, and begins magicing her wounds...

Jominda looks up, trying to see where the bell came from. At the very edge of the gloom, she can see three more bells hanging up in the tower. How they fell is difficult to sense however.

You continue the climb, Jominda with her spider-like strength and the Boreana attempting to catch up to Khamul and Jolanda. As Jominda reaches the top, she notices two figures hacking away at the second bell’s ropes. A third sees her and draws a bow.

Jominda is at the top, Jolanda and Khamul are on level 8 and Boreana has caught up to Level 5. Roll Initiative!

Jolanda runs as fast as she can, almost reaching the stairs to go up to level 9. Khamul follows as close as he can, but has to dodge another bell falling from the ceiling! Meanwhile, Jominda is barely grazed by an arrow from the creature shooting at her with a bow.

Everyone else is up! Then Jolanda can start the second round. Jominda, Defense 21 used. Khamul, I will need you to roll a Defense v. DC 26 or you to will have to start at the bottom with 36 points of damage after the fall.

Boreana races back downstairs to help the fallen Khamul, the bell crushing his leg as he lapses in and out of consciousness. Meanwhile, Jolanda and Jominda attempt to keep the creatures at bay with fire and bullets. Jominda’s bomb explodes and not only sets the one with the green feathers on his cap on fire, it destroys the platform they were standing on, sending it, them and the last bell falling towards the bottom floor. Jolanda’s shot pegs him as he falls. Only the one that formerly had a bow remains at Jominda’s height, barely hanging on to the broken staircase.

The two on the ground floor attempt to recover, slowly getting to their feet and regaining their bearings. Full Defense for both. The one with the red sash on its waist scrambles to get back onto the remaining stair, lamenting the loss of his bow, but determined to jostle Jominda from the wall. He throws a shattered piece of wood towards her, striking Jominda’s shoulder. 6 points of damage. He is heedless of the growing flame surrounding him.

Green has taken 16 pts of fire damage, 24 points of fall damage and 13 points of bullet damage. Blue has taken 24 points of fall damage. Red has taken no damage.
