As the conversation takes place Trox moves to the final door and prepares to open it as soon as the others are ready. It is clear at this point that he is getting anxious to get this done.

@Trox: This oak-paneled chamber must have once been breathtaking, but is a sad sight now-the floorboards are warped with moisture and the paneling scratched and spotted with mold. A grand piano, its surface splotchy and keys warped, leans tiredly in the southeast corner.

Unfortunately, your knowledge of these things certainly seems to be lacking. Haunts are generally tied to a place, so perhaps removing the place will work, but it is just a wild guess at this point. On the other hand, what if burning the place brings everything down on you at once?

No doubt, we should all agree to huddle in one spot, but BEFORE we implement that plan, everyone needs to go individually and gather their most prized possessions and meet back here in 10 minutes. What could go wrong?

As René crosses B2 towards the stairs, the manitcore on the table seemingly comes to life and whips it's now fiery tail at him!

As suddenly as it happens, is seems to be over - except for the burning flesh.

After you react and do whatever you might want to, I have uncovered the hallway on the upper floor that stair 3 leads to.

"René! Faywen yells, rushing to him, water already flowing from her hands. She douses him to put out the flames, before using her same power to dry him off once the danger has passed. Finally, she channels some of her inner strength into a surge of healing power, transferring it to him.

Kinetic Healer with 1 Burn: 3d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 3, 4) + 9 = 17 HP restored.

I'll take the burn for this one.

Druamin flinches when the stuffed manticore whips its tail at René. "Whoa! I expected that when we first came in this room." He moves carefully around the taxidermy and then up the stairs.

At the top he sees a door right where the hallway bends. "Since we're exploring, we may as well try this door, right?" He waits for others to catch up then steps aside as Erond moves to listen at the door.

Not really sure if the Reflex save is really necessary what with Faywen immediately dousing him, but I'll roll anyway.

"Gah! René glared at the creature and then started spluttering as he was immediately doused in water. He gave Raywen a very wet, thumbs up. "Thank ya kindly fer the timely save and healing." As other people started to explore upstairs, he started to whistle, pulling out a vial of oil. He then proceeded to start pouring it on the manicore. Pulling out his flint and steel, he started trying to light a spark... He will stop if someone stops him, but otherwise, he's burning the stuffed manicore.

René lights the manticore remains on fire, and watches it burn. Erond checks out the doors on the second floor, and hears the sounds of someone crying beyond the door he is standing at. (The reset were quiet).

Druamin opens the door to B10 to find a small room with stairs presumably up to the attic.

Look at the map - some of you are still on the main floor, others have moved upstairs. Remember to move yourself to reflect your actions so we can keep it straight! @Faywen - if the room is uncovered, you have explored it. The manticore was a room you previously uncovered, but in this case the haunt didn't manifest itself until the second time someone entered the room - which you did as you headed for the stairway up.
