On top of the GameDay commitment, work was rushed last week with the end of the fiscal year. Next week should be better, and we're also winding down the GameDay special.
DM Carbide
Thanks for your patience. The special has wrapped, so I should have more time for this (although I'll be going to a conference next week where I'm chairing one session and presenting at two others, so time will be short for other reasons).

So, I leave on Thursdays and will be out of the country until the 30th. My wife convinced me to allow myself to be trapped on a large boat with strangers and then told me that TTRPGs are not a valid conversation starter. Every night I get to sit with my family and strangers at the same table for dinner. We will see how this goes. If you don't hear from me send help.
Trox Ragmend
I saved up a few episodes of Glass Cannon and Find the Path, about six hours of content. Supplementing with four books that I have varying interest in.
Trox Ragmend
Back at home. Cruise wasn't so bad. They no longer sit you with people you don't know at dinner so I didn't have to make that 90 minutes of small talk a day. Boat was great, food was good and the kids had a great time.
Druamin
Glad you had a good time on the cruise. Be careful, if you enjoyed it too much, it might become a habit.
DM Carbide
What do you plan to do?
DM Carbide
I'll be slow to post until the weekend--work-related time sink.
Trox Ragmend
Happy holidays folks if you do that sort of thing.
At the moment I am killing time until my seven and four year old actually fall asleep so I can set up presents. No one tells you before you have kids how annoying it is that they wont sleep when you want them too.
Cheers all.

Our kids and son-in-law were over for dinner and gift exchange, and I'm winding down from that. We've done an inordinate amount of cooking over the past few days--daughter made ginger beef & basil rice last night and I made barbecued pork steamed dumplings to go with, and dinner tonight was broiled salmon, ginger carrots, sweet potatoes (microwaved, then sliced and fried in butter), and cheese-broccoli soup. We're going to be eating leftovers for a while, I think.
Enjoy whatever holiday(s) you celebrate, and I hope you're spending them with people you want to be with.
Druamin
Wow. Lots of great sounding food! Our holiday tradition for both Thanksgiving and Christmas is to make a dozen or so appetizers and no big meal. For Christmas morning the appetizers are centered around bacon, sausage, eggs, and potatoes. But all the rest of the time, they are a random assortment of hold and cold, savory and sweet.
This started as my wife's response to not liking to spend many hours cooking just so that we could all sit down and eat for 45 minutes. But now, she still spends hours making all the appetizers. The only consolation is that we eat them all for many hours (or days).
DM Carbide
Have fun, Erond!
Druamin, we did appetizers for a Boxing Day meetup with some of my extended family--various spreads, dips, and an assortment of cheese & sausage. (I also made a raspberry Yule log rollup, but that's a tradition.)

Unrelated to anything I am doing a very small bit of recruiting for another site I play on. I GM and play in the other game and have been doing so for several years now. Its different, homebrew and really has stuck with 3.5 over all the wonderful additions Paizo has made. The one rule that is hard is they ask for a post a day, most players are willing to sub for people from time to time though.

They have been doing for quite some time and it is a good community so if anyone is interested let me know.

I'm open to hearing more about that. Feel free to shoot me a PM so we won't distract everyone in this thread.
Trox Ragmend
To get ahead of things GM, what is would you say I need to do for a vertical charge attack. Trox won't even try to stick the landing in exchange for the damage and crit chance.
DM Carbide
Now that it's upright, it's actually within reach from the ledge--no vertical charge needed.
Trox Ragmend
Well that is less fun. :) I guess I can just do a full attack at its melon when the time comes then.
DM Carbide
Stepping briefly into metagaming here, this is a CR 8 encounter--four exhausted normal ogres and one exhausted ogre fighter. How about if we save some time and just say you take them all out without taking any damage?
Trox Ragmend
Honestly they can probably barely hit Trox so I am good with a hand wave. The AC 29 is a bit much for an ogre.
DM Carbide
FYI, I'm the Overseer GM for the GameDay PFS1e special, and I have no idea what the time commitment is going to be for it--I've frontloaded all of the overseer posts and saved them on Google Drive, so I can drop them into the various game threads quickly, and that will help. I may be slow to post some days, though.
Druamin
I apologize for my slowness in posting for the last few weeks. I was in a bit of an overworked funk. I'm doing better now. I should be responding quicker now.
DM Carbide
We all have down stretches--good to hear you're doing better. Speaking of pacing, I have several scenarios (and the Outpost special) wrapping up soon, so I should also be able to pick things up.
DM Carbide
I'm also running a Giantslayer game on the boards. We're on the verge of finishing Part 2, and the party wizard will be stepping away at that point. I know a few of you are in Briccone's GS game already...would anyone else be interested in joining mine?
Druamin
I was on another Giantslayer game and it died. I don't know what part we were on but I'd be interested in joining yours.
DM Carbide
Excellent! I'll let you know when we wrap Part 2.
ETA: Looks like you were a ways into Part 3, so the first sections will be familiar. I'll ask you to keep player knowledge separate from what the character knows.
Druamin
I will keep the player knowledge separate. What level of character do I need? Any particular class? I know you said that the wizard is leaving. Do they want a replacement wiz?
DM Carbide
The party consists of a warpriest, an arcane duelist bard with one level of oracle, a fighter, an alchemist with trapfinding, and the wizard. Another arcane caster would be a good fit, but since they've got weakness in healing a shaman might work as a compromise. Certainly a full caster of some kind. Starting level 7th with typical WBL.
The post with the character generation guidance is HERE.
Trox Ragmend
Glad one of us OG Giantslayers gets to go on.
Reynard Freeman
There aren't enough Giantslayer games on this board.
Also, sorry I've been absent for a few days, between picking up some shifts, the eclipse, and messing a tooth up, it's been a hell of a last few days for me.
DM Carbide
Just waiting on Erond.
DM Carbide
My wife is out of town, so I'm having to deal with a geriatric cat and a bunch of other house stuff. I'll try to get a post up tomorrow.
Trox Ragmend
Sounds great. I did a Disney cruise last October and enjoyed it.
DM Carbide
I'm dealing with some serious homeowner hell this weekend (cleaning up after getting the floors replaced), so I will be extremely slow to post.

Ok Heroes, today begins the last of great adventure of my summer. I'm off to Summer Camp with the Scouts BSA Troop today for a week. That will be immediately followed by my family's reunion.
I should be back online and ready to continue saving, or subjugating, the world on 19 July.
