He half called out into the snowy gloom. He set his Naginata down inside the Slaygon and instead drew his katanna, The added reach wouldnt do him any good if he could barely see his own paw in front of his face!

After receiving Zes' spell, Neverhome steps toward the igloo and immediately becomes only another indistinct shape in the blinding snow.

A winter blanket, a pile of furs, and a small wooden chest take up most of the floor space in this cramped igloo. A small hole has been cut into the low ceiling to allow smoke to escape, but no fire has been lit.

Silence/Neverhome:
Working together, you're able to dispatch your attacker. Zes appears to be in combat with something, but the side of the hut prevents you from getting close enough to view what's happening. Meanwhile, Hobbes stops fighting for a moment and looks relieved. Then he rocks backward as if he's been hit with something forceful.

"Why? What's happening to Hobbes?" the witch will ask with a tinge of worry in his voice, startled by Silence's shout.

"As for you..." he will then add, turning back to the eagle.

To intimidate their enemies, Zses will try to emulate the laugh* that made the sprites flee a couple of days before.

Silence:
Between Zes, the deep snow, the hut wall, and the slaygon, there's not much room to maneuver. You end up having to crawl under the slaygon. By the time you get yourself to where you assume Zes' attacker was, there's nothing to be seen. All you can see is a banged-up Zes and Blik wiping blood off of his spear. Seconds later, an eagle materializes out of thin air and attacks! Fortunately, your feline reflexes and armor are able to protect you from injury.

Zes/Blik:

As Zes mumbles in Aklo, Blik takes careful aim and skewers the eagle with his spear. Seconds later, the creature vanishes. As this happens, Silence rapidly crawls out from under the slaygon and looks around for an enemy. Moments later, he jumps in surprise and drops into a defensive stance.

Hobbes/Neverhome:
In unison, you move toward the threat. It's rough going through the 3ft-deep snow, but after traveling around 20ft, you can faintly make out shapes 10ft over your heads (it'll take a reach weapon to hit them). The one above Neverhome looks tiny - like a Sprite, maybe? The one above Hobbes is larger - approximately the size of a runty Goblin. (treat them as having 50% concealment) As you approach, a faintly-glowing slingstone narrowly misses Hobbes. Neverhome feels his armor and sword grow unnaturally cold for a split second, but the feeling passes almost instantly (passed saving throw).

Just want to say that this battle is awesome. I don't understand what the heck is going on, but still awesome :D

Zses will mutter lowly to himself as he sees the eagle vanish "Maybe it's a spell of some kind, but what?"
As he was wondering the nature of the attack, the witch will finally be able to see Silence. Then, when he notices that the feline samurai takes a defensive stance, he will move to him dagger in hand, keeping an eye out for other enemies.


It's a battle in a raging snowstorm. :-) When I was playing the campaign, I brought a Winter Oracle. The snow sight revelation meant that I was the only PC with a complete picture of the battlefield. Guess who one of the baddies is....

1)A Winter oracle with snow sight.
2)A ZombieKing with a funky Snow-themed template.

Neverhome will take out the handaxe they acquired from the hunter and toss it up at his foe.

Both projectiles miss. The larger creature breathes a blast of cold air at Hobbes (take 1pt cold damage). The smaller enemy laughs at Silence but doesn't appear to do anything else.

The blinding snowstorm continues to prove a major hindrance as both of you miss. Behind you, you can faintly make out your comrades moving closer.

Zes/Silence:
You follow the rope blindly until you find Hobbes and Neverhome. Flying over their heads, you can barely make out two figures. One appears to be tiny - maybe a Sprite? The other is about the size of a runty Goblin (it'll take a reach weapon to hit them, but they have 50% concealment). The rest of your comrades slowly make their way over to you.

Blik:
You stumble along after Silence until you run into Hobbes. He appears to be in combat with a small flying creature. It's too big to be a Sprite. (it'll take a reach weapon to hit it, but it has 50% concealment)
