Mierul gives Kirraak a coy look and answers him Dyrene har lært å frykte meg. Og hva banditten ville våge overtredelse i landet av de hvite hekser.
Mierul smiles at your hospitable actions and she begins a tale she surprises you all by speaking in the Common Tongue (Taldan).
Once, ages ago the Queen Baba Yaga came here from a world unlike this one.... her story tells of Baba Yaga's mythical origins and tells a flattering tale of her "saving" of Irrisen from barbarism.
Gonna Fast forward in my next post unless you guys plan on doing anything else with Mierul.

Hassan doesn't like the look or words of this stranger particularly. She lauds the Mother of Witches, and looks like a winter fey herself.
He crosses his arms and frowns during the story, still trying to not speak per the instructions of Merisiel (although that is getting harder for him...)

GM Niles RoW |

The strange woman Mierul tells a few more tales and sings a few songs in the evening to pass the time before you retire. The next morning you are awoken by Nadya who says that Mierul departed sometime very early that morning.
I did not trust that one. Let us go to Waldsby. she says curtly, obviously troubled by the visit.
You travel for several hours before spotting the town and Nadya takes you into Waldsby
Once in the village, the locals stare and point at you and many of the villagers stare and point at you before whispering concernedly and leading their children away. Others are intrigued, hoping that you have brought new wares from the south to trade. Nadya does her best to lead the you past the throng, taking you to her home-a stout, unassuming cabin on the edge of town. She introduces you to her remaining children, twin boys named Orm and Mjoli, as well as an old woman named Kashka who looks after boys during Nadya's frequent travels. Nadya provides you with a hot meal and warm beds, bids you to stay put while she delivers her food shipment to the fortified storehouse on the other side of the village.
Once Nadya returns she brings cold weather gear that is better made than the gear you currently have. +7 vs Cold rather than +5 she also brings snowshoes. She also offers her own pair to assist you.
We will wait for two days, then we will go to the Pale Tower. My daughter Thora is there, you will help me get her yes?

Hassan looks at the fair and kind Ulfen woman, frowning. "Your daughter is a captive of the witches in this Pale Tower? Tell me, fair Nadya, this daughter, is she fair-haired and blue-eyed? Are you certain she still lives? I pray it is not so, but am afraid we saw her spirit (or one very much like hers) inhabiting an enchanted doll on the other side of the portal."
Without much social grace, Hassan does not know how to break this to her, but profoundly hopes it is not the same girl.
"If they have harmed her, I swear the Dawnflower's vengeance will be terrible to behold, indeed."

GM Niles RoW |

What did you see of her?! What did she say?! Nadya cries, her eyes alarmed. Small items begin to move around the room and she says
Hatch, Hatch be still. Nadya says to the room around her and then she lapses into Skald. Hun kan ikke være død Hatch. Hun kan stil leve!

Hassan turns to Merisiel, his flinty eyes meeting hers. "If you say so, Lady, then let it be so. But I fear you are mistaken."
Turning back to Nadya and placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, the Qadirian man continues. "The child-spirit we met was of the North and cried out by name against the winter witch Nazhena Vasilliovna, whom we now know resides in the Pale Tower on this side of the portal. She called often for her mother, whom she missed terribly. The rest, I am afraid, was unclear to us. It may be, as my friend Meri says, that the girl we saw was from the Taldor on the other side, but my heart tells me it is not so."
As the items move around in the room, Hassan looks up in surprise. "What devilry is this! Is this house haunted?!?" he draws his scimitar in surprise and begins to search for the cause.

GM Niles RoW |

Nadya raises her voice Hatch, vennligst slutte. Thora vil ikke at du opprørt som dette!
The movement ceases and Nadya, with tears streaming down her face, turns to Hassan and says Hatch is Domovoi, house fairy. He...lives with us. He once lived with Nazhena Vasilliovna in the Pale Tower, but she cast him out and he arrived here almost dead. He was Thora's special friend.
These helpful fey can also tell the fate of the family they protect, but grow annoyed when asked to do so too often. They have many magical abilities including shape changing and telekinesis

Hassan looks for this 'house fairy'. He has heard tales of such but never seen one. "Your...Hatch. Used to live with the Winter Witch, you say? Inside the Pale Tower? Can he speak? what can he tell us of the Tower and it's defenses? If we are to seek vengeance and justice for Thora, such things will aid us. Perhaps, make the difference in success and failure. How do you conjure him?"

GM Niles RoW |

He likes gifts of food and milk. He loved Thora and would reveal himself to her frequently, but he rarely shows himself to me. Nadya says she sighs and says I must see to my boys. and she leaves the room to enter her chambers.

Domovoi Hatch, i know of your kind and their powers. Since we are about to confront the Pale Tower can you please use you power and tell us the fate of the one you cared fore, of Thora. she says after getting some food from her pack and setting it in front of him

Sven looks around the room with a mixture of fascination and hesitation. He is cautious of spirits, especially those that can manipulate the physical but can not be seen.
He unconsciously rests his hand on the hilt of his longsword, though it's doubtful such a blade could accomplish anything here should he want it. He watches Nadya leave, then steps to Kirraak. "Should we see if there are ways we can help her? I am uncomfortable here..."

"Hail house-spirit!" says Hassan looking around. I am Hassan al'Akbar of far Qadira. I am trained to be a witch-hunter, and again, I pledge to bring to sword-point those responsible for the girl Thora's harm or death. If she was truly your friend, come and tell us what you can of the Pale Tower so her loss can be more easily avenged."
It comes off sounding a little blustery, apparently.

"Leaving..." he ventures with a grin.
As if further explanation is probably essential, he finally continues. "Nadya might need help with things around here, as she has been gone for a bit. Even if she is uncomfortable talking about her daughter. But I am more uncomfortable being in this house."
He takes leave of the others, cautiously leaving the room with the house fairy. He looks for Nadya outside to see if he can lend a hand in any way, especially as she has already been so helpful to their group.

Sven Ragnarson |

The Ulfen nods in understanding before taking leave himself, fairly confident he can partially blend in with the surrounding.

GM Niles RoW |

A small creature which looks mostly like an old man steps out of a corner. He speaks in skald. Du så til at Thora ånd flyttet på?
The pitiful creature begins sobbing uncontrollably.
Jeg visste ikke! Jeg visste ikke at hun ville gjenta meg! Det er min feil. Dårlig Thora, dårlig venn Thora.
Skald:

Kirraak |

”Ro deg ned lille venn” Kirraak says to the little faery ” tross av det som har blitt sagt, vi vet fortsatt ikke om det vi si var Thora. Hun er fortsatt i live, jeg er sikker på det.” and then he continues ”Men hva handler dette om å gjenta deg? Og hvorfor er det din feil?”

Again, left out of the conversation, Hassan rolls his eyes to Sarernare, asking her for patience.
"Can he help with any details of the fortress?" the inquisitor asks brusquely.

GM Niles RoW |

Jeg lærte henne alle de stygge ting om Nazhena Vasilliovna. Jeg trodde ikke hun ville gjenta dem foran Jadwiga. Betyr dette man snakke sant, vil han drepe Jadwiga? Hatch points at Hassan.

Hassan turns towards the little house-elf "I pledge that I will end the threat from that tower, or die trying." He draw his weapon and hands it hilt first to the creature.
