Ylosani is not LESS certain that their expedition is cursed when three of them attempting to cross the bridge tumble off into the icy waters below.

He grits his teeth, both from the cold and with determination and pushes himself up out of the water. "I will not yield," he mutters, low enough that he might not be overheard.

Maraxus' solid five minutes of cursing while he dragged himself from the water was only interrupted by bouts of chattering teeth.

Regaining the bank and slowly recovering his wits and body control he changes to a low muttering to himself.

"This is a test? It has to be? Why not glorious combat? It is punishment for getting dazzled, it has to be."

GM I forgot I'm wearing cold weather clothes, does it perhaps give me a bonus to my fort Roll? Hopefully enough?

as the wind picks up and tyrael is thrown off the bridge. he has a look on his face that is just pure dumbfound as he falls into the icy water below.

fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

as he hits the water he screems as the icy water shocks his body. he fights and struggles against the cold to get to any side of the river. looking for purchase on the the river bank he will try to pull himself back on to land.

climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

as he pulls himself out of the water you can see all of the water on his armor crystalize and it turns to ice. fits of shivering and convulstions of cold rack his body as he tries to stand. when he is finally able to he finds himself making his way back over to the lodge to start a fire and warm himself and the 2 others that also hit the water.

wool and some firs still insulate wet. Important thing to know when you hunt the Alaska tundra at 35 below. "Cotton kills" was a common phrase out there. I didn't figure it would work anyhow, couldn't hurt to ask

So, is our only option to wait another day and night for people to recover from the hypothermia/fatigue?

If so:

Are we losing another day already? I guess we have no choice. I can't ask them to go into a snowy wood if they're shivering with hypothermia.

"We should just go back to the lodge. It's still just right there, and it will be both the safest and warmest place." He gives the shivering people a stern eye. "Just go slowly across the bridge."

Eladorn and Shael move back across the bridge, still moving at an uncomfortably slow pace, and they head back to the lodge. Eladorn begins getting a fire going in the fireplace. Once the fire is going well, he heads out to hunt.

"I'm going to go wrangle us some dinner." And go get some peace of mind!

Despite his familiarity with these woods, Eladorn is unable to even find enough food for himself, let alone to feed others. He chalks it up to the winter weather. Well, that or the fact that we're going so slow I can't even think any more!

A fatigued character can neither run nor charge and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Doing anything that would normally cause fatigue causes the fatigued character to become exhausted. After 8 hours of complete rest, fatigued characters are no longer fatigued.

Ylosani growls and grits his teeth, both from frustration and from shivering. Looking at his soaked companions and knowing how he, himself feels, though, he knows there isn't much choice. The creatures and challenges they've faced have tested their limits even when they were healthy. Soaked through and freezing will be just the hindrance that might get them killed.

"Yes. Back to the lodge. We'll spend the night there then strike out in the morning. And cross the bridge slowly," Ylosani says.

He then does just that, crossing back over the bridge extremely slowly so that he doesn't end up in the water again.

That's a good plan, Mustafa. Since both Eladorn and Thorn were unable to find food, we'll all have to use a day's worth of trail rations. GM, unless you have other plans for us inside the lodge, shall we fast forward to the next morning and another attempt to cross the bridge, with everyone moving at Eladorn's pace to get across? We'll all be fully healed at that point, and free of any conditions.

As everyone makes their way across the bridge slowly as possible, they notice two things, one is a bag that had all the previous gear in it partially buried in the ground and snow. And two they notice a little further as they travel the trail

The forest stands deathly quiet here. Even the wind has grown still as snow softly falls through the stark branches overhead. Tracks, human in size but oddly misshapen, mar an otherwise unblemished trail through the trees.

"well look at this gift from the gods Apsu blesses us today." as tyrael reaches down to pick up the sack that was noticed on the ground.

after picking up the sack he straightens out a bit. "well will ya lookie here the wind died down. im hoping that is a good thing and works in our favor."

noticing the all the foot prints he looks aver at Eladorn. "hey there Eladorn is it what do u make of these tracks?" as he speaks Tyrael will pull out his really big hammer and starts scanning around trying to notice if there is anything moving around besides the group.

Eladorn starts approaching the sack of goods, intending to search it for traps, but Tyrael has picked it before he can get to it.

If it was trapped, Eladorn will assist with whatever the outcome of the trap is before continuing on.

Ylosani spends a night of frustration, alleviated only partially by the comfort that comes from being out of the elements and in front of a warm fire after taking a dunk in near frozen waters.

When they get back across the bridge (very carefully) he is somewhat relieved to have found the items his previous party found and is not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Though he will be surprised if it is not trapped.

He has the Bow of the Southern Winds in hand and an arrow knocked and watches for an ambush, the other tactic their opponents prefer.

Relieved to be dry and reasonably warm, though he would have pressed on if necessary, Maraxus edges his way across the bridge.

Seeing the paladin pounce on the buried gear he cringed, expecting the trap he surely would have placed if he was the enemy.

He scans the area, hammer ready for any ambush that might be sprung.

Tyrael looks at the group that all seem to have a shicked look on there face. "apsu protects me and his light has shown on all of us today finding these items here for us."
After passing off the bag to his fellow comrades he will re-ready his hammer and slowly start walking further down the trail keeping an eye out for anything that might want to cause them harm.
