It's a pleasant day in Heldren as you exit The Silvered Stoat (or your house) this morning. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and there's not a cloud in sight. In other words, it's the perfect day for a festival!

The day starts off with a short speech from the council head, Ionnia Teppen. She gives a warm welcome to all visitors and promises that this festival will be the best one yet. "You may think you've seen it all before, but this year will be one you'll never forget! We gathered only the most beautiful butterflies, and I do believe that Desna herself couldn't have done better. I promise you, you won't believe your eyes when you see them." With that, the fun begins!

Normally a representative of the High Sentinels is here to oversee events and make sure nobody accidentally injures themselves. You haven't seen anyone.

If previous check is passed:
The High Sentinels are a group of rangers dedicated to keeping bandits and dangerous animals away from the town. They're based in the nearby Border Wood.

Percy wakes to a gentle touch and a screaming voice. The touch sends a ripple of heat down her arm, but it doesn't hurt. She blearily comes to, and slowly orients herself.
Oh, ya... she yawns and stretches, the crevices and cracks her blackened arms looking as horridly painful as usual.
After a short morning ritual of slaps and shakes, Percy quickly dons her specially modified hide armor and gathers her belongings. She is the wary sort, so she leaves nothing behind.
All this takes only a few minutes, and soon she, her sister, and her sister's goat are headed out.

Sigrun awakes in her room, an experience she always though of as odd since inns were not a common thing in the frozen north. The night before had been interesting, observing the camaraderie of travelers who barely knew each other, something she was still unused to after her years in isolation.

Arising from bed she washes herself in the washbasin provided, before donning her chain armor and gathering up her weapons and gear and heading down to the common room, seeking a meal.

Ered rolls over slowly, landing with a solid thud on the floor. The groan that escapes his lips is a combination of his body hitting the floor, and the sunlight hitting his eyes. "I keep forgetting...alcohol doesn't make it better. It makes it worse.."

He chuckles and grins, slowly getting up and brushing the dust off his clothes, and then he proceeds to get dressed, putting on his armor, strapping the waterskin and scimitar to his hip and the bow to his back.

Slowly proceeding down the stairs, he clings to the wall, descending the stairs to the main room. He grimaces, as he heads to the bar. "Water..." he mumbles to the keep, barely noticing he's nearby the rest of the group.

Even put together, his eyes and body posture clearly show that he had been drinking the night before and was still recovering. "There's some sort of competition?..."


Game Update
Maldrek and Vashti are attempting the Tug-o-War against Group Two.

I'm holding off on results for a while, as it's currently 2 PCs vs. 3 PCs. Feel free to participate in as many games as you want, explore the town, or whatever. This part's pretty sandboxy. :-)

The first round they pull in unison, but every round after that, Gruff seems to pull Allie off balance, and the last tug pops her on her little butt.

If Vashti eats mud, after her cleaning, she probably will try to guilt trip any clean players into buying scented soap for her. If they win, she tries to find some small gifts for each of them, preferring sweets or little tokens of strength.

Vashti know her limits and will watch the contests and will shout and cheer, but not join. She doesn't want to embarrass her self in front of her new freinds.

Ered chuckles, seeing the impromptu tug of war game starting and heads over, stretching his arms out. "Tug of war! That's better than any hangover cure!"

Charging over to the assembled group, Ered pushes random villagers out of his way, people a bit more surprised at a strong elf than anything else as he anchors himself on the rope.
