Ilyandrosa and Chianni shall carve only the wicked this day... Maysalkirii whispers in re-assurance, both to Adele and himself...

"Well we'll see when we get there Adele. We'll take the side route then." Narses pulls a potion and chucks it down, his skin gains a bark-like quality as a result.

Drink potion of barkskin, duration 10 min.

Findor prepares his bow with an armor piercing arrow then attempts to keep to the shadows as he follows his companions.

"We must do what we can to rescue the prisoner if there is one. Be careful where your attacks are aimed."

Let's finalize these plans. Who is going to the southern breach and who is going to the main entrance?

Female Halfling Bard/ Paladin (sacred servant) 7 (gestalt)

I think Feek persuaded everyone to go with his plan of going through the breach in the south wall. The goblin and Narses will go in first, and the rest of us will follow.

Yup, the group are actually following the scout's plan, this is a first for me in a PbP :D :P.

Through the breach and burst into the room where Feek heard the voices- Dragox and Adele are invisible as their stealth can't be trusted lol.

1/2 Orc Cleric Of Caydean 1 | HP 13/13 | AC 15/11/14 | F+4,R+1,W+4 (+2 to charms, compulsions, and emotion spells | Init.+1 | Perc.+6 | SenseMotive+2 | CMD 14 | Darkvision 60’ | 30’ movement

Dragox was caught offguard by the sudden invisibility. He made careful steps to not fall as the group entered the building. He took his usual place at the back of the group, silently following the rest of his friends in the keep.

Updated map HERE.

Findor, I forgot to change your token art. Sorry! I will fix it with the next map update.

With Maysalkirii and Narses in the lead, you venture forward through the southern breach of the keep. The voices and flickering lights coming from behind the ersatz barrier immediately to the west are obvious when you are this close. They do not seem to notice you, since their tone remains calm and conversational.

Perception DC 26:
You hear a scraping sound coming from the top of the building to the east of you.

Female Halfling Bard/ Paladin (sacred servant) 7 (gestalt)

Perception 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31

Feeling very glad she took Feek's advice and drank the potion of Alertness, Adele whips her head around to look up at the eastern roof. "Above you!" she hisses to the two in the lead.

DM, with that Perception check, can she make out the language being spoken or any of the conversation?

1/2 Orc Cleric Of Caydean 1 | HP 13/13 | AC 15/11/14 | F+4,R+1,W+4 (+2 to charms, compulsions, and emotion spells | Init.+1 | Perc.+6 | SenseMotive+2 | CMD 14 | Darkvision 60’ | 30’ movement

Perception 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

The 1/2 orc also hears the various noises pointed out by Adele.

Findor also drank a potion.

Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Findor immediately aims his bow upward, attempting to see what threat was above them now.

(Am I dazzled here, or is there enough shade in the keep to prevent me from being in bright light conditions?)

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Feek nods that he hears the noise too, but whispers-

Inside quickly, stick with the plan. We'll make it come to us.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

With that said, Feek bursts through the canvas hangings (hopefully with the group), weapons drawn and ready to smite Hobgoblin...

Findor, you are fine. The shadows from the walls of the keep are very easy on your eyes.

Adele, due to previous experience, you can identify the language as Goblin. It is too muffled to make out individual words, but you can tell that one of the speakers has a much deeper voice than the others.

As soon as Narses chimes in, I will get an updated map up.

Chime
perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

Looking up at his companions incistance, Narses cocks his head but pursing his lips he shakes his head.
Keeping a wary eye obove him Narses followes Feek through the curtain with his axes raised and a snarl on his lips.

The interior of this stone building is open and spacious. Wooden timbers suppor the roof above, and here and there the remains of what were probably once interior dividing walls are evident. Two large boulders sit on the floor to the south, near a large hole that has been knocked in the southeast wall. Rubble from this hole has been piled in a circle to form a crude fire pit. Against the west wall of the room are arranged four double-bunk beds, each strewn with filthy covers. Another bed, this one larger, sits near the south wall, partially obscured by a badly damaged wooden screen. A poorly stuffed owlbear looms in the center of the room.

The thick curtain of lumber and canvas comes down in a dusty heap. The room, however, is not empty. Four surprised hobgoblins and an enormous minotaur stop their conversation in surprise before scrambling for their weapons.

Findor 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

The beds count as difficult terrain. The stuffed owlbear appears quite heavy and acts as a barrier. (Please forgive the resolution. The owlbear is the squiggly object one square south of the middle hobgoblin.)

Thanks to your stealthy approach, you all can act on the surprise round.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Tanner, you get awesome DM points for remembering my init goes up from the potion :).

I'm guessing the rubble is difficult terrain?

Maysalkirii will use one round of his travel domain power as a free action to ignore difficult terrain, activate Bane (Monstrous Humanoid) upon Ilyandrosa as a swift action, and make a charge attack to the square the square next to the minotaur, running over the fireplace and plunging Ilyandrosa into the minotaur.

Female Halfling Bard/ Paladin (sacred servant) 7 (gestalt)

A haunting melody emerges from the thin air Adele invisibly occupies, an old folk song about a maiden imprisoned in a tower by monsters and the adventurers who come to her aid. As she sings, Adele keeps a wary eye on the rooftop to the east.

Dragox invisibly follows his goblin friend through the rubble, and silently through the group of hobgoblins. moves just south of the closest hobgoblin to the group.

My movement should get me to the square just northeast of the #6 in the room, DM.

The sourcebook is silent on whether or not the rubble is difficult terrain. Since I didn't state whether or not beforehand, I'm going to say that the rubble has been salvaged for the most part and no longer impedes movement. The monsters are very close to you, so it should not be an issue if you have already stated your movement for the round. But please, feel free to amend your actions if you feel like it.

I was checking for the purposes of charging- you can't normally charge through difficult terrain but Feek can due to travel domain 6 times per day. If the rubbles not difficult terrain, 6/6 remaining :)

Findor moves up to Narses, moving 1 square north and 1 square west and augments Narses Strength score by touching his arm briefly, which suddenly bulges with a little more muscle.:

+2 Strength for the next two rounds.

Almost forgot to do my Lawful Good Deed of the round.

After augmenting Narses physical strength, Findor turns towards the hobgoblins and speaks in Draconic. Delay this until the end of the round after everyone has acted.

"Surrender, People of the Dragon, and let Justice be served this day without further bloodshed."

Erm, he began scrambling for his weapons? :) I'm afraid in this case we're just going to be guilty of profiling: We're looking for evil hobgoblins; we've found hobgoblins; ergo, the hobgoblins are evil. Kind of a spurious assumption for a party that contains a goblin and a kobold. They could be a Creature Scout troop on a campout unknowingly being stalked by the evil serial killer unicorn about to swoop down upon them from the eastern rooftop. (And don't think I wouldn't totally do that to a party if I were DMing.) I guess the next time we begin to sneak-attack something, Adele ought to spend 3 rounds Detecting Evil just to make sure.

Yeah, I know what you mean but no internet at work, sorry.

Gritting his teeth as he feels his muscle bulge at Findors touch Narses tightens his grip on his axes, calmly steps upto the hobgoblins and with murder in his eyes he starts hacking away.

Step 1sq west and 1sq north-west. Rage using power attack 2 strikes at the western most hobgoblin. If he falls on the first hit then the second att is on the other Hobgoblin within reach.

No worries man, was just a bit dismayed at spending all that time setting up the surprise round and saw it slipping away :(. Without SA dmg on minotaur is 14, and Narses only gets one swing (probably stil nasty).

Findor reacts to the sudden sound of waking voices around them.

Due to the retconned surprise round, Feek isn't grappled right now (although he might be again by the time your initiative comes up).

Round 1 Action

Feek unleashes a furious double slice on the minotaur, then takes a step back, hoping to see him fall.

Moving at half speed due to entangled, but I can still take a 5-foot step. AC remains the same (I was at max dex bonus before cats grace), CMD goes down by 2, attack rolls go down by 4 each. Taking this into account with my rolls.

Quickly adding "goblins riding boars" to the list of monsters imprisoning the maiden in her song and hoping her companions pick up on the hint, Adele lightly rushes through the room to the door on the north wall.

Double move to next to Feek; maintaining Inspire Courage +2

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

I really wouldn't consider Maysalkirii game-breaking in any way, maybe i've just played more gestalt than you guys but combining two high-skill classes with the same HD and medium BAB is hardly optimal. His power will also degrade over time as the spellcasters get their goodies. His HP and damage output are far, far below Narses unless he can sneak attack. We're also one level behind where the full BABer's get their second attacks so Maysalkirii's currently at his peak. That and i've been very lucky with the dice rolls.

Wincing as a hobgoblins blade slides into the joint of his breastplate as he is pulling up his trousers, Maysalkirii nods his thanks to Narses for taking down theHhobgoblin and changes his judgement to Healing as he steps beside Narses and readies himself against the incoming attackers with a quick divine blessing from Cayden

3HP down after this attack. Actions- Move next to Narses, by the wall and cast Divine Favor.

Active Effects-

Judgement, Divine Favor (+1 to attack and damage), Inspire Courage (+2 to attack rolls and damage), Cats Grace.

1. Oh, I'm very sure that they are shooting at Adele. Mwahahah!

2. Maysalkirii is not really game-breaking. Very effective and bordering on game-breaking, probably. ;) But remember, even with gestalt characters every PC still only gets one standard action per round. It increases your flexibility more so than your power.

Female Halfling Bard/ Paladin (sacred servant) 7 (gestalt)

Gotcha. Boar-riding goblins with true seeing? Or has she been dispelled without knowing it? Can she see herself?
