SHe let out a shaky breath. "Yeah, I guess I do need a bit to collect myself before I start asking future me questions. Lots and lots of question."
She stood up. "And Tam? What you said before about attachments not being a bad thing...you were right."
He chuckles as he gets up.
"Well, it took me a long time to learn that, so don't think I'm any great font of wisdom or anything. It's been one of the few drawbacks to travelling as much as I do."
"I'll be inside if you need me, then," he says, then looks around the garden briefly before returning his gaze to her.
"Okay. Thank you. I don't know how I would have gotten through all this without you. I'm calmer around you for some reason. Yeah, I know that's kind of a scary thought," she added with a grin.

"Positively terrifying, yep," he says with a return grin as he steps past her and heads back to the kitchen.
"And you still don't have to thank me!" he calls back as he sticks his tongue out at her irreverantly before going inside. :)
She laughed, and then started her meditation. She'd never been good at the sitting still sort of meditation, so instead she cleared her mind and began to run through the katas the monks had taught her.
Tam goes back in the kitchen, sits down heavily in one of the chairs, and lets out a ragged breath, only shuddering slightly in the process.
"Bit more than you bargained for at this stage. I know. I'm sorry. We had to change things. It's better in the long run."
Hm Ryo passes Tamrin S. a drink.
"Drink it all. It will help keep you calm while you think about things."
He glances over at Tamrin GoT.
"You're going to want to duck right about.. now."
As the older Tam ducks, Hm Ryo reaches up to catch the small vial flying through the air.
"Ooh, this is one of Razzy's more creative mixtures. It's really to bad I warned you, because seeing you bald would have been great."
"Just out of twisted intellectual curiosity - have you seen what happens in any futures where we don't actually...well, you know...?" Tam asks, gesturing between Aanandareavekki and his older self.

She glances over at Future Tam.
"For which one of us? I'm the last of my kind. That's a long, lonely life." She shrugged. "The timelines we've been in mostly involve at least the possibility of James and Ephebe existing. There's been a couple of others though. Basically we both ended up alone. There may be other timelines out there with other possibilities. I really can't say."
"Seeing Razzy in the form of a tortoise will be even better though. Adsila can have a new pet," Tamrin says with an evil grin as he spins around while ducking and looks like he's about to cast a spell. :)

Tam's face takes on a darker look.
"Then I guess it's for the best that she has a dragonslayer at her side," he says, not pleased at all with the irony of that statement. Conflicted or ill would be a better descriptor.
"If that demon can't be exorcised from Chan, then it's going to rue the day it chose a dragon's body to inhabit when I get through with it."

He effortlessly snatches the vial out of the air before it can connect and do any harm, chuckling.
She looked sad. "You can't save Chan. He chose to let the demon inhabit his body. He thought he could keep control of it. Aside from not wanting to kill his sister, he enjoys the pain and suffering of others. I wish it were different. But it's not."
"As for the other thing, I've never had a problem with your past, Tam. My people helped create this world so that they could have somewhere to flee from the other dragons. Somewhere for as many as wished it to get away from the constant warring. They wouldn't take sides between the Metallic and Chromatic factions and both sides tried to kill them for daring to stay neutral."
"I hope you can convince her of that," he says, turning back to Aanandareavekki.
"But no two timelines are identical either. Maybe it's possible in this one. Just like it may be possible to save your mother's life."

"I hope you're right about that. But there's a lot of ifs here. Especially now. I don't know how things will play out exactly. That's the problem with time travel. The minute you change something you no longer have all the answers," she said with a wry smile.
"There are many thing that are possible Tamrin. Each choice we make creates even more than I can see."
He pulls a locket out from under his collar, and stares at it.
"Lots of 'ifs' and lots of headaches from trying to think of them all," he says with a sigh.
"Right - one foot forward at a time. I'll shut up now and let you go talk to....yourself," he says with a half-smile.
"That's true. All we can do is our best."
She got up from the table. "I think it's been long enough. I'm willing to bet she's bursting with questions by now. Guess I'd better go answer as many of them as I can," she said with a grin. "Be back in a bit. Oh, and we're gonna need food when we're done. Lots of food. Just a heads-up."

"So how much food can this kitchen of yours produce, Ryo...?" Tam asks absently as he watches the events outside.
"Um... I don't really know. Guess it's time to call in the troops, huh?"
He leaves the room and goes upstairs, knocking on everyone's doors as he walks down the hall.
"Addy! Ormarr! Razzy! Ruji! Time to make lunch, and we're going to need everyone we can get!"
"And no spiking his Razzy, or I'll make you eat it!"
He returns to the kitchen from a different door and pushes the table out of the way. Food ready to be cooked begins to appear as everyone starts cooking their own specialty.
"If you happen to know what Aananda's favorite dish is, be sure to tell us so we can get it started."
He rolls up his sleeves and begins to cut and clean fish.
Adsila starts working on a grill that wasn't there a moment ago, placing fruits, vegetables, and tubers to cook.
Ormar begins to prepare different dishes that would make a carnivore behave at the dinner table, which is exactly what it is supposed to do.
Razule and Ruji pull double kitchen duty, working together on a large pot of soup and a few desserts. Their timing is near flawless as they assist eachother. It's easy to see Razzy's going to be a great cook one day, because he is also finding the time to find more of that nice blue drink from this morning.
"Er, anything I can do to help?" she asks tentatively, eying the cooking process suspiciously. "I should warn you, you don't want to let me cook. It's been tried. I burn water. But if there's anything else I can do..."

Seeing her for the first time in her natural form gave him pause. It's all well and good to talk about these kind of things in the abstract, but finally seeing her as a dragon in the flesh still was a heck of a thing.
Taking a deep breath to clear his head, he sits down on the stoop and watches the spectacle unfolding in front of him.
"OW!" she complained loudly after yet another crash. "How can parts I didn't have and hour ago hurt so much?" she complained as she tried to shake out her sore and slightly crumpled wing.
