She tried and failed to hold back her laughter.
"Okay, I think that's about all the progress we're going to make right now. How about we break for lunch and come back to this later?"\
After receiving a sullen nod from her younger self she changed back into a human and walked toward the house.
"Whatever they're cooking it sure smells good."
She passed Tam on the stoop as she headed inside.

Aananda |

She changed back as well, but more slowly. She stretched, trying to ease her aching muscles, but it wasn't really helping.
"I never knew I was such a terrible teacher," she said testily as she followed her older self.
"Oh." She blushed as she saw Tam sitting on the stoop. "So, you saw all of that, huh?"

Tam tries valiantly to choke back a laugh at the teacher comment... ;D
"Oh." She blushed as she saw Tam sitting on the stoop. "So, you saw all of that, huh?"
"You need to look at this on the flip side - most of us would have a hard time just getting off the ground after only a few hours of instruction. It looks like you got airborne several times, so that's pretty good. Right?"
"Maybe for the next lesson you could try some kind of mind link to speed up the process. As long as Aanandareavekki can keep the things you can't know yet locked away, that is..." he says with a shrug. "Just a thought." :)

Aananda |

"Getting off the ground isn't so hard," she said, sitting down next to him. "It's figuring out what to do with my tail once I'm up. And also, my wings get really tired. I don't exactly use those muscles as a human on account of not having them."
"This whole thing still feels so surreal."
"Oh, and we tried that. That's how I was able to learn how to make the transformation. Flying as it turns out, just requires lots of practice. You can't teach your muscles how to do it without actually flying."

Tam's Narrator |
Ah, the wonders of new pain. Anyway, I think I forgot to tell you all something. As of Monday at 6:17pm, I got another neice!
What, did they just leave her on your doorstep or something? That's just cold, man...... ;P
Seriously though, congrats on being an uncle...again! :)

"Yeah. I remember the first time I had to take a draconic form. A bunch of us were trapped underground with the only exit blocked off by a bunch of ISPD agents, and the only way to get out was to dig. So I polymorphed myself into a brown dragon and proceeded to make us an escape tunnel. It took me a few tries to figure out I couldn't breathe rock and dirt," he says, slightly embarrased. "But we got out. Strange day, that one."
"Anyway, maybe surreal is going to be our new 'normal'..." he says with a smile. "How bad are you hurting right now?"

"It's not too bad. I've been through bad training sessions before. I know that eventually the misery lets up. But the parts that hurt worst aren't there so I can't stretch them out or anything, but I can still feel how much they hurt," she said, making a face.
"It's weird thinking of you polymorphing yourself into a dragon. Not bad weird. Just weird."

At that last comment he turns to look at her.
"Well I'm glad to hear I'm not 'bad weird'," he says with a playful grin.
"I don't use form-altering spells on myself all that often (dragon or otherwise), but the magic does provide me all of the basics on how to use the form. Which is great, because it would be a pretty useless spell otherwise," he replies thoughtfully.
"....If you're still having problems with motor skills or whatnot after the future 'us' goes back, I can always try to take on an amethyst form to help you out. I obviously couldn't hold the form for very long, but still..."

"I'd like that. I got the distinct impression that flying is something I'm gonna have to practice a lot. It'd be nice not to have to experience the pain all by myself," she added with a grin.

Also? Tamrin polymorphing... probably how you two ended up with Jiminy and Ephebe in the first place. Oh, and ewwww.
Puts his Sage hat on, as we do need to spare some thought to this now :)
Well....
If they were both in a draconic form when the twins were conceived, then they would be full amethyst dragons. The problem that arises is that Aananda would have to stay in dragon form until she could lay the eggs - if she tried to change form while carrying them, they would perish due to the change in physiology...
If they were both in humanoid form, the twins would be half-dragons. Here again, if she tried to change form before they were born, they wouldn't survive the process.
I'm sure the twins have been either one of these, depending on the timeline visited.

Aananda |

Yeah, either way she'd have to pick one form and stick to it. Which makes it much more likely that they were conceived in humanoid form. This is definitely supported by Ephebe's human appearance, although that is partially a magical effect since as a half dragon she does have some nonhuman features. Ditto that for James.

Yep yep. Though I suppose it is possible that they could inherit the alternate form ability as a condition of Ryleh's wish...

Hmmm....Also possible. If that were true, they could probably survive transformations in utero....

"When you put it that way, how could I possibly say no?" he says with a laugh. "Alright, it's a date. Now I think you'd better get in there before your future self eats all the food they just prepared." ;)

That is a very interesting idea, isn't it? ;D

"Ooh, lunch!" she said, scrambling to her feet. "I'm starved. She better not eat all of the food."
She headed inside, more than ready for a good meal.

Tam smiles to himself as Aananda bolts inside and the folks in the kitchen run screaming for their lives.
What am I getting myself into, he thinks to himself as he walks in to grab what food he can. :)

She follows reluctantly, eying the food hungrily.
"It is almost done isn't it?" she asked plaintively. "I'm so hungry."
Tam gently pushes on her shoulders from behind, helping her along into the next room.
"Give the poor kids time to plate it!" he chuckles. :)

"I'm not so good at patience," she admitted sheepishly as she let him push her into the dining room. "Especially when food is involved."

Agarthian Storyteller |

A minute or two after Aananda and Tamrin sit down, the foodis starting to be brought into the room, what is to heavy to be carried floats along on it's own. It takes another minute for the food to be placed in the right spot. There is such a large amount of food it would seem extravagent to those who didn't know Aananda was capable of eating more than a giant! ;)

"Fair point, but it should only be a few more minutes until you can eat," he replies as he pulls out a chair for her. He then leans back into the kitchen to gauge their progress.
"I hope..."

As soon as the food is on the table Aananda starts piling food on her plate and eating at an alarming rate of speed.
