brvheart |
FYI, make a swim check Natalie. After that attack you are in the sewage!
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu grunts as the pain finally hits him from the four wounds. He extends the butt of his polearm for Natalie to grab and hoist out if she needs.
Natalie Desmee |
"Splash" barely any time to react Natalie finds herself in the sewage. She starts swimming to the rest of the party.
swim: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
brvheart |
While you are in there you are finding bones of small children. Make a perception check.
Beth Macara |
Beth come up to Oro-Tu, drawing her wand of CLW.
"All right, let's patch you up"
5 CLW for: 6d8 + 6 ⇒ (2, 6, 7, 4, 8, 6) + 6 = 39
While she does that, she observes Nathalie in the sewer. "Nice jump, by the way. What are you looking for?"
brvheart |
Not that Natalie had much choice in the matter. The landing was only 1' which was enough to make the stroke, but then she would fall after. You find nothing on that check Natalie.
Natalie Desmee |
"There be bones of children down here. Thought there might be something else, but I guess not. Time te get out." With that she pulls herself out.
Do you need another swim or a climb check?
Beth Macara |
"Gimme you hand and let me help you out of the water", says Beth extending her hand.
Once Nathalie is out of the water, Beth grabs a pebble and casts light on it and throws it at the center of the pool so that it illuminates the water.
"If the monster eats children for his leaving, there may be some still alive around here or in a nearby lair. Is there an underwater entry to a lair here?"
Perception check to scan the water1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 2 = 15 (the +2 is for water terrain)
Edit: Bah, shouldn't have bothered....
brvheart |
Beth should have bothered. She finds an unconscious young girl. She is dehydrated. The DC was 15.
Oro-Tu |
If told, or if he sees her also (perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18), he immediately drops his polearm and dives in to fetch her out (if she is in the water, otherwise go to where she is).
swim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 (unless someone else does so, don't want to get in someone else's way, but he would immediately react to that.)
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu carries her over and lays her at Beth's feet. Since he is already covered in muck, he turns around to head back in, "I will make sure no others..."
Looking for more bodies or anything unusual in the water
Silas Frey |
Silas palms the Walix away and a little more settled he prestidigates and then makes his way to the girl. He reaches into his pack and pulls out a canteen to give her water.
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu, with Natalie's help, recovers the last of the remains and climbs out from the sewage, turning to help Natalie out as well.
"Spirits cannot rest here. Must take them out."
Natalie Desmee |
Natalie accepts Oro-Tus help out of the rank water after helping him collect the remains. "Aye the walking dead down the other way proves that."
Leialoha |
"Squalid filth of these colonials is what brings creatures like that, but these children shouldn't have suffered. You're right. We need to bring the bones out and see that they get a proper burial." Leialoha also helps gather the remains, sputtering about the disgusting mess that the city has made for itself.
Wexley |
Wexley draws smelling salts from a pouch on his backpack, a very old-looking and worn container. He opens it and sniffs. "Damn. Kept these too long. We'll have to try something else to wake the child."

Beth Macara |
Looking into her bag, Beth swears: "Damn, I did not plan for that. I'll have to do it the hard way. Anyone who's got a dry blanket, take it out please, I'll need it. in The mean time, I'll start with the most crucial bit."
Whipping out her wand of CLW, she uses it to cast it on the girl for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4.
Then she casts detect poison to check nothing is threatening her.
brvheart |
The CLW revives her but the stress and exposure have rendered her senseless. You detect no poison or disease.
Beth Macara |
Using the blanket from Silas, Beth rubs her to warm her up, trying to wake her up while she determines if it is safe to carry her.
Heal check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Silas, Help another?
brvheart |
She is awake and drinks some water. She should be ok to be carried in the blanket now.
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu uses his fishing net to store the remains, tying it off with his rope and looping it over his shoulders to be dragged out. "Will carry girl."
After Beth has administered aid and they are ready to go, he picks up the girl in the blanket in both arms and proceeds to drag the remains along behind him.
"You lead and watch for danger. I follow."
Wexley |
"This is a respectable fellow. I can't remember why he's following us through the sewer, but I'm glad to have him."
Natalie Desmee |
At the very least we need to get the little girl out of the sewers. We can always come back after finding a safe place to leave her.
Beth Macara |
"Yes, back again to the chapter I think. How many people and kids have been killed down there ? I can't believe what a mess the authorities of this town have let grown. We've barely walked a single corridor.", fulminates Beth.
Still fuming, she gathers all the child bones in a bag. "Let's bring their remains up as well. We'll give them a decent sending."
Natalie Desmee |
"I would say I think the officials are worried about other problems than keeping their sewers clear of beasties. I agree their remains should be taken somewhere more appropriate."
Beth Macara |
Upon reaching the chapterhouse, Zalen asks inquisitively, "Who is this blessed child and what has happened to her?"
"Well, when we went back to the sewers, just past the place we found the Bozak, there was another horror. An oversized Roach larger than our new found friend there.", she says looking at Oro-Tu. "We discovered the girl still alive as well as remains of at least 20 other kids. Can you take her in and find her parents come morning? We also brought the unlucky children's remains so that we can give them a proper sending and maybe tell the families that the child-killer is no more."
Letting her anger show, she storms: "I know you've just arrived here Brother, but who can let a town degenerate as much as this one ? May all those who let that happen meet Quell wrath! And if not his, they will fell mine."
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu listens quietly. The affairs of the city dwellers ring hollow in his mind, but the fact that they allowed this situation to occur, if what Beth and the others said about them is true, breeds even more distrust in the mind of the large Tulita.
he said his name and that he was seeking the sage Milliauka, but unless questioned to introduce himself further, it would not occur to him to do so. All he knows is that he has come to this foreign place to seek the elder and is in the interim helping a fellow Tulita and his comrades to do something that seems important, considering the discovery of the roach and children.
Silas Frey |
Silas makes certain the girl is settled before returning to the others. "This place has gone to hell. No one is taking responsibility. Now I like a bribeable official when work needs to get done, but child killers and no one doing anything about them is a new low even for this place. How does no one notice something like that?"
Wexley |
"The dragoons aren't like what I was taught as a child. Not anymore. If you aren't in it for the power or the money, you have no place in this town. Your only place is here, in the gutter, with these children. Shameful business."
Natalie Desmee |
A curious look comes over Natalie when Wexley mentions the Dragoons. "From what I've heard recently their looking for some fabled treasure...I think it might be the same treasure that has multitueds of people selling "maps" to. That's only what I've heard no time or incling to confirm such a rumor. So back to the sewer?"
