Beth opens her eyes and instantly wishes she hadn't as the beast dismembers Aurora. From her position, she sees the untriggered beartraps and remembers her encounter with the vampire spawns.

Quick question: is the creature a huge ogrillon as you said or a huge girallon as the creatures we met by the lake.

Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
knowledge religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

From what we know: the boat with the vampire swarms, the way the creature took us by surprise without trigering the traps, Beth thinks it is a vampire. I don't want to metagame that one too much, but with her general knowledge on religion and this rolls, can Beth know about mirrors and holy symbols vs vampires?

Last question, can we turn Traveller's any Tool into a mirror?

Male Human Rogue6/Clr1 Current Map

@Beth From your roll you would know this is also a vampire, but would not know much about them. It can form almost any tool, but that being said a mirror is not a tool. Nor would she know that it would have any effect on a vampire. And, FYI, it is one singular creature only. It also appears to be raging like Oro.

@Brvheart, from my recollection of vampires, their energy drain only works once per round. And I'm not sure it counts twice on a critical.

Male Human Rogue6/Clr1 Current Map

You are correct on the once per round, but not on crits

Quote:
If an attack that includes an energy drain scores a critical hit, it bestows twice the listed number of negative levels.

Thanks for the precision. This would mean Ivar should not get his two negative levels as Aurora already got some.

Correct, I edited as such. She does not gain the +5 either except in blood drain.

I hate to say this Oro_Tu, but she has combat reflexes and you have to provoke to get to her:

But she misses rolling a nat 1.

I think we are running towards the mummy tombs to get away, correct me guys if I am wrong. By the way if Aurora was actually dismembered will grab the other pieces at the same time if it matters, lol

Uraisia did you not choose traits? If not you should totally take that Davy Jones locker one lol

She is an eagle, but has yet to fly off so I guess her actions are done.

thanks everyone for caring about me, its unfortunate that aurora died, but it does add to the story of her life, her past was plagued by vampires and intelligent undead and now it comes back to revisit her, she will want to come back to seek vengeance on the beast if you guys can manage to spirit her away to be raised. I still have that scroll of heal on me for anyone that needs it, most neg levels and such, disease. I do hope you found all my arms and legs, no fun having to use prosthetics. Did that once with a character, sucked.

Ivar is in Aurora's debt for the two 'davy jones lockers.' If he lives through the queen he will assemble all the parts, may find the heal scroll in the process, just sayin'

It killed her, I owe her a debt, we'll get off of the damn island, and when she is hale and whole again we will come back and finish that monster Ivar can do nothing but stand and watch the stinking, burning, smoking husk that was the 'queen' turn to smoke and dissipate with the wind. Setting his axe and shield down he begins to gingerly gather the separate torn parts of his friend, motioning to Oro-Tu to bring the leg that he had grabbed in his attempt to rescue the body for resurrection.
