This is the gnoll den, under one of the flagstones in the room they keep a somewhat larger treasure; a small wooden box containing five 100 gp gems (sapphires).
Elathras Narcinal
finding the loose flagstone Elathras moves it finding nice wooden box, "He look Gruk a box, would you like to look at it?" as he walks past Gruk he hands the box to him and then proceeds to the only door on the western side. He carefully checks the door for locks and traps, listening for a moment to make sure there is nothing on the other side, if clear he then opens the door.

opening the door and finding a hallway Elathras turns to Gruk and says, "This looks like the hall we were in, shall we go north to make sure?" turning right out of the door, Elathras follows the hall.
Elathras Narcinal
after reorienting himself to the location of the hallway, Elathras leads the team south down the hallway, past a couple of bends until they reach a door on the west wall, stopping at the door Elathras smiles and says "Look Gruk another door!" He inspects the door for locks and traps, and then if clear he opens the door.

The western alcove in this room is filled with a large stone statue of a man in armor riding a dragon. The man’s helmet (or possibly his head; it isn’t clear) is in the shape of a demonic-looking mountain goat with large curved horns. He carries a heavy mace in his left hand, and bears a shield with the device of a bat. There is a large, oval-shaped pool of water directly in front of the statue, apparently intended as a reflecting pool. The water in the pool is green and stagnant, covered in algae.
Elathras Narcinal
Elathras nods his head in agreement with Gruk "Do you think it's on of those gargling creatures?" as he reaches out his Lucerne hammer and pokes it with the tip.

Beltin gets an alkali flask in each hand and hands a third to the monk archer.
He tosses one at the pool. The basic solution explodes with a smell like ammonia on the surface. He proudly claims: "Made these myself!!"

was Elathras able to tell if the shield and mace are separate from the statue?
watching the bat on the shield come to life, "That's not a gnoll shield, they don't do that" Elathras drops his torch and grasps the hammer in both hands.

Well, you make the CMD, but how do you trip a flying bat and what affect would it have?
Irenicus
I think they fall, but I am not sure. That's what happened in 3.5 but haven't done much maneuvering in PF. Edit: looks like creatures that are flying are immune unless touching the ground/not flying.
Elathras Narcinal
Some creatures—such as oozes, creatures without legs, and flying creatures—cannot be tripped. PFSR

Elathras watches the bat hover about, getting fairly frustrated he begins to rage, "Stop flitting and stay still so I can hit you!" and swing at it with the hammer.

Elathras points at the flying stone bat, calling out "Shoot it Mitleid! Shoot it!"

Not necessarily, it is not above Elathras' head.

Seeing the stone bat fall to the ground, Elathras slumps a little from the fatigue of rage, going over he kicks the stone bat carcass, "Stupid bat" looking carefully at the rubble of the bat, he then takes a closer look at the statue and then a closer look at the pond.

The pieces of the bat seem to be very slowly reassembling. You find nothing else interesting with the statue. As Gruk is in the pool, you can see a few glints of metal. By scraping the pool you find 20 gp, 100 sp, a broken tooth, and an old boot.
Elathras Narcinal
noticing the bat parts slowly reassembling, elathras kicks them apart again and then helps gather up the money in the pool, holding up the tooth and the old boot he asks, "Does anyone want these?"
Elathras Narcinal
holding the boot up so everyone can see, Elathras notices that there is odd stitching on the boot. "Hey Gruk, look, odd stitching on the boot" dropping the tooth back into the pool, Elathras takes his knife out and carefully cuts through the stitching to see what is sewn into the heel of the boot.

admiring the gem Elathras places it in his pouch, heading on out of the room he turns south again, torch and hammer in hand and walks down to the next intersection looking to the east into the hall and then looking to the south and the stairway.

To the south is a stairwell up. To the east is a hallway that turns south.
As Elathras gets to where the hall turns south a portcullis drops in the hall behind him.
brvheart
In the center of the portcullis a demonic looking face has been fashioned onto a disk of metal; when the portcullis falls, the face issues a deep, amused chuckle before falling silent.
