Ok, will save Mitleid and anyone else that enters the hallway, DC 15.
Kaztor Strongforge
Will 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
DM, look at my header to see my save bonuses. Do I make the saves counting them?
brvheart
It is a fear affect so anything that gives a bonus to that counts. It is not a spell, but frightful presence.
brvheart
It is unfortunate that two of you missed by one. A bless running would have made the difference.
brvheart
You made your save, now what are you going to do? One party member is down and three have run!
brvheart
I was actually referring to Irenicus. Mitleid has already taken his actions for this round, sorry.
Irenicus
Irenicus, hoping to save the elf, casts web far enough back to catch the skeletons, hoping they get stuck, and then flattens against the wall in the room to hide from sight until his next action.
DC 18 reflex
brvheart
reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
brvheart
On their turn the skeletons make combat maneuver checks to attempt to break free of the webs.
cmc: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
cmc: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
cmc: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
cmc: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
cmc: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
They all fail and are stuck in the webs. Elathras can attempt to stabilize and Mitleid and Irenicus can take round two actions.
Irenicus
Irenicus whispers for Mittleid to drag Elathras out as he summons a floating disk from a scroll. Std action to cast and spending move action to help move Elathras and/or move it down the hall.
Elathras Narcinal
Good idea Irenicus, thanks! 16 damage, HP -2, -1 str.
stabilize: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 - 2 = 3
Elathras falls to the ground unconscious from the combined attack, the battleaxe clipping his shoulder and the shortword piercing his ribs, both wounds still oozing blood. The Black skeletons attack appearing to effect Elathras' strength as well.
so -3 HP, now
brvheart
You will need that move action to pull the scroll. Mitleid will need to make a cmc to pull him out.
The other three continue to run to the south.
brvheart
golf claps around! Presuming you beat feet in a hurry the party might all survive this.
brvheart
The party ends up back on level one. Considering it all I will give full XP, 360.
Elathras Narcinal
@ brvheart: since Elathras is in the hands of friends on this comfortable floating disk, do I need to continue rolling to stabilize?
@ Team: shall we just regroup on the first floor and then return to stomp the skeletons? That way brv doesn't have to swap out the map. Unless of course the skeletons followed us and were going to run through the first level for a while, brv?
Kaztor Strongforge
Just for the record, we are less than 200 xp from next level. Sounds like time to blunder into one more encounter, then get out to town for leveling and recovering!
Kaztor Strongforge
Anyone else beat up? If so, gather together for a round of healing!
Channel 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4
Channel 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
Elathras Narcinal
Elathras awakens, Still feeling worse for wear, looking around in the room with the four doors, he asks "how did we get back up here?" thinking for a moment, his face drops into a frown and he begins feeling his head for ooze, smiling he stops. "I remember getting hit by a skeleton, I was afraid I lost more brains."
Looking back at the team and then Kaz, "Did you kill them all or are we going back to finish them off, if we are, I will need more healing, then should we rest?"
It would be tempting to go back to town now. We have three options: would you rather go to town now and go to RA proper after we come back and finish level two? Or would you rather finish level two, then go to town, and then go to RA. Or would you rather go to town, skip the rest of level two and go straight to RA? I just don't want to make two trips to town before we head to RA proper, we loose a crap ton of time every time we go to the village. That's my two cents worth.
Kaztor Strongforge
[ooc]Im out of channels for the day. So I vote we rest. We can either do that here, or we can head back to town and do it. Im fine if the group wants to clear out this level before moving on to RA, proper or vice versa.
Wdrozgrúk
I'm fine with clearing out this level first. Maybe a rematch with those skeletons, now that we know what to expect (?!) Wdrozgrúk just needs a couple days' rest, or another lesser restoration from Kaztor, to get his strength back to full. We can go sooner, though. I'd just prefer to be at full nick first.
brvheart
So you are going to the bunkroom to rest? Elathras is still in poor shape and Gruk is still down a couple points of STR. As far as cleaning out the level, there are a lot of rooms left, but not a lot in them as far as XP or treasure.
Elathras Narcinal
in discussion:
There are three keelboats that carry almost all of the trade upriver to and from Zelkor’s Ferry: the Yellow Dagger, the Lucky Oak, and the Brawler.
After returning to town Elathras asks, pulling his scarf back over his inflamed nostrils "Does anyone want to come with me to rent a keelboat? We should find out how long it will take to sail to the mouth of Rappan Athuk and how much it will cost. That way we know if we can leave today or in the morning."
I assume if we need to make purchases we should do it now, but lets get out of town soon.
Elathras Narcinal
Elathras smiling of course no one can see it because he is covering his mouth with his scarf he heads to the docks, slowly reading the names painted on the boats prows in festive colors 'the Yellow Dagger, the Lucky Oak, the Brawler, 'the Lucky Oak' I like the sound of that 'the lucky oak', yes definitely like the sound of it.' Walking up to the man nearest the boat he ask "Can we rent 'The Lucky Oak' to take us up river to where we can find the entrance to Rappan Athuk?"
brvheart
"Tis dangerous area. You pay double rate? If so I kin take you as far as the rapids. You must walk from der."
Elathras Narcinal
While Beltin and Gruk haggle with the boatman, Elathras sits down on a nearby bench, so he can take his boots off. After several times of trying to count on his fingers and toes, how many it would be if each member gave eight, he looks up and shakes his head in confusion.
