Yes, the screaming continues. Gruk was within 10' of the purple ones which was why I attempted to cast defensively (their reach). Elathras was blocking the doorway making it the only spot available in the room. The Sonic damage was before you attempted to cast. Then it was your init, then theirs. This was NOT an AOO, it was their round.
