Kyras Darksoul |

Its doubtful that Kyras will use the mitral dagger. I say we sell it and up the gold each by 50 gp. Can everyone agree? 537 gp each.

Kyzen |

agreed

Kyzen |

No pressure, just wandering what is the holdup, no posting since Friday?

Kyras Darksoul |

Cool. I almost saw the Grateful Dead on one of their last tours in Cincinnati. Had tickets. Long story. Car wreck. People arrested. Bad scene.

Elemental Overflow (Ex) Class Ability (Kineticist)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
At 3rd level, a kineticist’s body surges with energy from her chosen element whenever she accepts burn, causing her to glow with a nimbus of fire, weep water from her pores, or experience some other thematic effect. In addition, she receives a bonus on her attack rolls with kinetic blasts equal to the total number of points of burn she currently has, to a maximum bonus of +1 for every 3 kineticist levels she possesses. She also receives a bonus on damage rolls with her kinetic blast equal to double the bonus on attack rolls. The kineticist can suppress the visual effects of elemental overflow by concentrating for 1 full round, but doing so suppresses all of this ability’s other benefits, as well. The next time the kineticist uses any wild talent, the visual effects and benefits return instantly.
As a kineticist’s body becomes more and more suffused with her element, she begins to gain more powerful benefits.
Starting at 6th level, whenever she has at least 3 points of burn, the kineticist gains a +2 size bonus to two physical ability scores of her choice. She also gains a chance to ignore the effects of a critical hit or sneak attack equal to 5% × her current number of points of burn. At 11th level, whenever the kineticist has at least 5 points of burn, these bonuses increase to a +4 size bonus to one physical ability score of her choice and a +2 size bonus to each of her other two physical ability scores.
At 16th level, whenever the kineticist has at least 7 points of burn, these bonuses increase to a +6 size bonus to one physical ability score of her choice, a +4 size bonus to a second physical ability score of her choice, and a +2 size bonus to the remaining physical ability score.

Kyras takes a level of Investigator gaining 5, +2 (con), +1 (Favored Class) hit points.
His BAB increases by 1, as does his Fort save. He gains another first level extract slot, Trap Sense +1 and Keen Recognition (but it does not help him much as he is now trained in all listed knowledge skills.)
He gains a feat and takes Power Attack.

He learns two new 1st level extracts and takes Comprehend Languages and Adhesive Spittle.
He gains 10 skill points:
+1 to Appraise
+1 to Climb
+1 to Escape Artist
+1 to Heal
+1 to Knowledge Nobility
+1 to Perception
+1 to Sense Motive
+1 to Slight of Hand
+1 to Spellcraft
+1 to UMD

HP: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Tamora |

Are we doing average hit points now? Or is always been an option if we don't want to roll?

Rannik |

Forgot to mention the level up rules for our newish players.
Now Character Creation:
Level 1
Abilities 25 pt buy
Races Core + ARG feature races. Alternate racial traits are fine.
Classes Any paizo classes that are on the PRD.(For the summoner, go with the unchained version)
No Evil. No exceptions.
Max HP 1st level, 2nd level and up are rolled. Rerolling any 1's.
Traits x2 No traits that increase starting gold. No drawback.
Wealth Average or rolled character wealth for your class.
Background Skills
Aslo, loot and next post is coming up soon. I'm a bit overbooked right now, so thank you for your patience.

Hoga the half orc |

Me, too. I hate rolling.
hp: 1d10 ⇒ 2
That's why. I had good hit points with average. If you don't have toughness, take it now. We are going to be hurting for hit points.
Not complaining. That's the rule, and it's cool.

Kakrish Stonetoe |

Hoga, I also got 2 points this time so I'm only up to 25 HP.
But that's fine. All the unexpected makes it fun. And besides, these low rolls will be offset by high rolls at some point.

Rannik |

I always preferred the rolled dice's way, then the static average. I know not everyone agrees, but this way not every level 5 fighter with 16 of constitution end up with the same amount of HP.
Also, the characters were built with 25 buy points instead of the usual 15 or 20. Allowing you with more points to spend in constitution or no dump stat.
On another note, here the loot I was supposed to post earlier. Sorry for the delay, it would seem that 24 hours in a day aren't enough lately. Maybe I can just stop sleeping for a while....
From the Kobold Cleric.
3 potions
chainmail, not magical, small
quarterstaff, masterwork, small
Cloak, magical
Cloak of resistance +1
spell component pouch, not magical
Gold unholy symbol of Nyarlathotep
From the Kobold Sorcerer
Scroll, magical
Scroll of Invisibility, caster level 5
Wand, magical
Wand of Acid arrow (5 charges)
dagger, not magical, small
Cloak, magical
Cloak of fangs

Tamora |

Hmm, let's see if she can identify them.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
At least she passes the difficult ones. Tamora has no interest on these items other than the scroll and the wand. And since our cute bloodrager is likely be the frequent target, has crappy saves and wants more rawr in his attacks, I'd say the cloak of fangs should go to him.
Nvm, Tamora will leave the wand with Hoga since he is the one who can use it at level 4 without a UMD check.

Kyras Darksoul |

Hmm. What is left?
Alchemy, Potions: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Spellcraft, cloak: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
I think that is everything.
Anyone need anything? I guess we all could use a cloak. The Cloak of Fangs might cool for me as it would allow an adjacent attack since I am a reach fighter.

Kyzen |

For my part, the fun comes from rolling... Any average or automatique system way of playing is not as fun... Fumbling in a sure situation or criting a boss and kill it, is what makes it fun...
LOOT
========
Even without knowing what the magic items are, there's nothing of interest for Kyzen...

Kakrish Stonetoe |

Updated my profile.
appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 I assume it is non-magical metal or gemstone
If no one else wants it I'll take the cloak of resistance. I don't need any of the other stuff.

Kyras Darksoul |

Happy holidays to all. I am already back at work today preparing for a busy 2018.

Tamora |

Did not see items from the barred room before. I do recall we have some gems, potions, scrolls and two mithral dagger. Uncertain if they are included. Going to link it so that we don't need to look for them and someone can add them to the worksheet.
If she has the gold, Tamora will buy a mithral chain shirt for herself, some blunt arrows, a longbow & one ghost salt blanch, selling her xbow and her old armor in exchange. You never know when we encounter ghosts.

Kyras Darksoul |

Or other incorporeal undead. Good thinking.
We have not split up loot and gold as far as I remember. Can we try to finalize a loot sheet soon? I'd enjoy moving forward.

Kakrish Stonetoe |

Ok. I updated the loot sheet with the items in the rooms that Tamora posted. I tried to calculate the values correctly for everything. I left a few things blank (5) because I don't know how to find the value for those. There are also a few items from the barred room (4) that we never were able to identify. I put those on the list too.
Can someone else, who is more knowledgeable than me about the costs, fill in the blanks?
Also, what do we do about the 4 unknowns?

Kyras Darksoul |

I added a value for the Wand of Acid Arrow and claimed the formula book. I think I have claimed some of the potions too. We handled that a while back iirc. I'll try to check.

Kyras Darksoul |

There is this post about loot as well.
OK. I mined the posts and this is what I found that does not seem to be on the loot list. Note a few questions:
1) Our reward was 500 gp. While I think we brought this up I could not find it. Was this 500 total or each?
2) We have a pair of mithral daggers. They needed some repair work on the handles but are quite nice and will count as both masterwork and silver, but don't take the silver damage penalty. Also great to sell as they are worth around 500 each and would sell for half. I recommend we keep them. Kyras would be pleased to carry one.
3) The Bronze Plaque
4) Parts from the construct. Note that these might not be worth anything.
5) Spellbook from around the first of August. Tamora had trouble reading it.
6) Kobold Loot. All small I would guess. This might be hard to sell but includes:
5 light crossbow with quivers
5 shortsword
2 bone club
1 dagger
6 studded leather
1 bone armor + helmet (same stats as a hide armor)
2 spell component pouch
1 unholy symbol (Circle with winglike arms)
8 furs from different animals (used as bedroll)
8 backpack (with waterskin and 1 week ration each)
59 gold pieces
5 shovels and pickaxe
1 set of small Tools (lockpick)And 1 formula book: Coward’s Cowl, Keen Senses, Locksight, Shock Shield, Targeted Bomb Admixture, True Strike, Vocal Alteration. Kyras will claim this book.
Oh, we also need to identify 2 potions and 2 scrolls.

Rannik |

The reward was 500 for the group.
One of the dagger needs repair, but I understood that Tamora and Kyras were keeping them.
The Bronze plaque is worth 100 gp
Construct parts go for 250 gp
Spellbook, should really hold on to it.
Kobold loot was added to the loot sheet by Kakrish. I added the values that were missing.
I added the 2 potions and scrolls to the loot sheet. I also Identify the Bastard sword to save some time.
As for game progression, if you are going to report to the Baronness, we could move on and finish the loot here since it doesn't affect the game side.

Kyras Darksoul |

Kyras chose not to keep the second mithral dagger. He was just not going to use it much if ever.

Tamora |

Do we still have the previous loot sheet? The one after our first battle with Azar. I need to track Tamora's gold.

Kyras Darksoul |

We seems stuck over loot here. Unsure how to proceed. Lets not do this again. I'll happily track loot going forward.

Tamora |

Thank god. It's on the discussion post. No need to worry.

Kakrish Stonetoe |

Yeah. We get stuck on the loot a lot more than any other game I've played in. Not sure why.
Tamora, on the loot sheet (in google docs), there is a tab on the bottom for the old loot. I recommend that we close out the current loot tab (quickly) and then make a new tab for our new "current loot". Kyras, if you want to track it that would be great for me.
I would like to take the +1 breastplate and then sell my other 3 (!) pieces of armor I've been carrying: scale mail (50), mwk scale mail (200), +1 chainmail (1300). If that's fine with the GM, I'll add those 3 items to the loot sheet.
If no one else wants it I'll also take the cloak of resistance.
I'll leave the potions, scrolls, and wands to others.
Kyras, Tamora, and myself have added our names to the sheet. If Hoga and Kyzen add their name, we can resolve it.
Other than that, let's move back to the town. We have to go there to sell stuff (and buy stuff) anyway.

Kyras Darksoul |

I am curious about that Cloak of Fangs:
Wearing this animal-hair cloak grants a +1 resistance bonus on saving throws. Furthermore, the wearer can force its teeth to grow rapidly up to five times per day as a swift action. The oversized teeth last for 1 round, during which time the wearer can make a bite attack. Treat this attack as a primary natural attack that deals 1d6 points of damage (or 1d4 if the wearer is Small). If the wearer already has a bite attack, the damage of that bite attack increases by one step.
First its a resistance item and we all can use that. But also it grants that bite attack. I see two uses for that. First it would let Kyras threaten at 5' while holding his reach weapon. That is not that big a deal as he can just hold the reach weapon in one hand and pull another melee weapon to do that. But it would let melee characters gain a secondary bite attack at -5. Hoga getting a bite attack at 1d6+4 (or more if raging) damage sounds good to me.
On the other hand it represents a lot of our incoming cash. So, keep it or sell it?

It's fine with me.
Is there any other piece of information on the loot that we need to finish this?

Hoga's a frontliner all the way. A good secondary attack would be helpful. Seems best suited for him. Kyras should have the Acid Arrow wand until Hoga can cast next level.

Kyras Darksoul |

And a +1 to all your saves is gonna be helpful too. Kyras eventually wants a cloak of resistance but he can use inspiration on saves when he has to for a +1d6 so he can wait. He will happily safeguard the wand for Hoga for now, but go ahead and claim both items on the loot sheet Hoga.

Tamora |

Anyone finished claiming what they want before our dwarf finalize the sheet? I want to see how much gold Tamora accrued before I start buying stuff for her.

Tamora |

What about the +1 bastard sword or do you already have one?

Kyzen |

Kyzen took 1x potion of CLW. if no one else wants the CLW, Kyzen will take them all.

Kakrish Stonetoe |

The sword is a good idea but I'm not proficient with that weapon so I think I'll have to pass. I put my +1 chainmail, mwk scale mail and regular scale mail on the list too since I want to sell those and put the money in the pool to split.
Kyzen, as far as I'm concerned you can have all of the CLW potions.
So we're good to go. Just need to know how much gold we all get now.
