Rogue Trader puts players into the role of the Rogue Trader (captain of the ship) and his close advisers. Adventures run from exploration, salvage, fighting aliens. Think of it as DnD in space.
If you do not have the books, send me a PM, I might be able to help you out.
As to the campaign I am still working that out. What makes Rogue Trader come alive for you?

With that, I am convinced that there is a market for a Rogue Trader PBP.
Psionichamster, Spazmodeus, Langsford, Jene, anyone willing to step forward and take on the role of Rogue Trader?
Note: whoever takes on the role of Rogue Trader will have the responsibility of drafting the history of the Dynasty and the preliminary stats of the groups starship. I am doing this because I have found that delegating this to the player/s makes the game more their creation than just mine.

I may be interested in playing the Rogue Trader, but would like to read up on the books before I commit to anything.
If so, he will be most decidedly interested in military matters, weaponry, and armor, leaving the negotiations and whatnot to his crew.
Basically, Jayne from Firefly, if he were the captain instead of Mal.

Juxxie welcome please indicate the character class you prefer to play.
I think I will close the recruitment at this stage so that each player will have sufficient opportunity to shine.
In this regard, please prepare 1st level characters using the Corebook. If you wish to use an option outside of the Corebook, kindly indicate those options in your character sheet.
psionic, i think the Rogue Trader's hat is yours. Congratulations, lord-captain.

Rogue Trader
It's just a site that has a roller, the rules built in, home worlds, single re-roll, etc, etc... Helps keep things straight. We had used a similar one for DH.
You can roll up a new character, but you cannot cheat on any given character. You choose to lock/save your character to a database and it assigns you a URL. For GM review...
I'd just copy that info into a profile here.
EDIT: Never mind.
WS: 25 + 2d10 ⇒ 25 + (4, 1) = 30
BS: 25 + 2d10 ⇒ 25 + (1, 7) = 33
S: 25 + 2d10 ⇒ 25 + (4, 10) = 39
T: 25 + 2d10 ⇒ 25 + (3, 4) = 32
Ag: 25 + 2d10 ⇒ 25 + (2, 4) = 31
Int: 25 + 2d10 ⇒ 25 + (3, 8) = 36
Per: 25 + 2d10 ⇒ 25 + (9, 7) = 41

Fel: 25 + 2d10 ⇒ 25 + (5, 3) = 33

Righto. Let's see what the Paizo dice gods will give me.
WS : 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (3, 1) + 25 = 29
BS : 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (3, 1) + 25 = 29
S : 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (1, 8) + 25 = 34

Fel : 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (9, 5) + 25 = 39
Re-Roll : 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (7, 2) + 25 = 34 replace BS
Think I'll be a Navigator
Imperial World -> Child of The Creed -> Duty Bound -> Dark Voyage -> Pride

Once again i am late to the party. Since I am not that familiar with Rogue Trader, I'll be able to build a character tonight at the earliest. Should I still do it, or are you full up?
Hello. TerraNova, i'll make an exception for you.
Characters so far:
psionichamster - rogue trader
Juxxie - voidmaster
Spazmodeus - navigator
Langsford - explorator
Jene - are you also rolling a rogue trader?
TerraNova - ?
I have no problem if someone makes an Ork Freebooter or a Kroot.

Langsford |

Putting up everything that needs rolling so I have it all in one place.
WS: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (9, 9) + 25 = 43
BS: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (7, 2) + 25 = 34
S: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (1, 6) + 25 = 32
T: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (9, 1) + 25 = 35
Ag: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (9, 10) + 25 = 44
Int: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (5, 4) + 25 = 34
Per: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (8, 8) + 25 = 41
Wil: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (5, 8) + 25 = 38
Fel: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (3, 6) + 25 = 34
Forge World
Wounds: 1d5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Fate Points: 1d10 ⇒ 5 -- 2
Stubjack
Insanity Points: 1d5 ⇒ 2
Renegade
Corruption Points: 1d5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Calamity
No rolls needed
Vengeance
No rolls needed
And since I can't decide on a starting gender...
odd-male, even-female: 1d100 ⇒ 56

Radavel, thanks for the chance. I'll focus on what the RNG provides me with, and try and make it work mechanics-wise as a second step. Leaning towards a missionary. :) If the dice don't make that seem plausible (horrible Fellowship?), I might instead make an astropath.
Ok, rattle them bones...
Weapon Skill (WS):

I'm foraging the internet for RT material, this guy compiled some stuff but references ItS. Just making sure.
Also, he references 100 point buy as core, basically take 25 in everything... and 100 points. Nothing can be modified more that 20 upwards, or less than 2 I suppose.
Let's you tailor your character, choose your strengths and foibles.
Another quick question, in DH you purchased Advances to Abilities. RT starts you off a little more powerful, but do we also get to purchase advances?
This games seems like it would last... considering buying the core book online/download. $30.
