Very basic outline of the Havarro Dynasty and what has led to Pietro becoming Lord-Captain of his own vessel:
Noble-born, Pietro knew from a young age that his destiny was to further the goals and profits of the Havarro Dynasty. The Rogue Trader family had never been extremely large, but they had been successful enough. The family specialized in raising their children up through the Scholam and Collegium Militarium, ingraining deep wisdom, valuable training, and irreplaceable real-world experience.
Following the dynasty's plan has worked for the past seven generations, starting with the very first Havarro Rogue Trader, Esteves Raul Havarro. Like his illustrious ancestor, Pietro spent nearly a decade in the halls of Schola after Schola, learning logic, philosophy, religion, history, and the physical sciences. Savant
From there, Pietro was commissioned as an Ensign in the Imperial Navy. He spent the early years of his career working carefully to cultivate relationships, friends, and more than a few rivalries amongst the other officers, but remained ever mindful of the Havarro Dynasty's eventual goal for him. He took calculated risks, always with sufficient buffers between him and the true threats involved, and rose through the ranks of the Imperial Navy in good stead. Duty Bound
All went according to plan for both Pietro and the Havarro Dynasty in general, until one fateful trip. By now serving as Executive Office onboard a Naval Battle Cruiser, the Pride of Celedar, Pietro gave an excellent account of himself when their vessel was knocked out of the Empyrean and beset by Dark Eldar raiders. Pietro singlehandedly slew several of the xenos pirates after they boarded the ship, and led a successful counterattack with the ship's marines and junior officers. It was during this encounter that he was awarded the power sword that still graces his side to this day. Dark Voyage
After that failed expedition, Pietro contacted his family and informed them of his readiness to take on the life he was destined to lead. Agreeing with his decision, and fully cognizant of the satisfactory, if not illustrious and glory-draped, career he had achieved, they bought out his commission and set him up with his own vessel. Having accumulated talented and driven crew members from his years of wandering the stars, Pietro stands poised to drive the prestige and glory of the Havarro Dynasty to even greater heights. Motivation: Prestige
Feel free to elaborate and join in with any of the above incidents!

Sorry I'm not ready yet, but I will be.
Thinking a Forge World (or a Death World plundered for resources) where the Mechanicus deemed a city/colony inefficient. They harvested individuals and committed genocide (and left some to die on their own).
Jene's brother or love was taken away. So she survives and basically hates/grudge/vendetta against (Mechanicus).
Also thinking Dark Secret where she has opportunistically or pre-meditatively surveilled hunted and killed Mechanicus.
Is that too much of a stretch or too dangerous a beef?
Background-wise, perhaps the Rodriguez (far flung through-out known space) have traditionally been the military/protection arm of the Havarro Dynasty. After the devastation, she makes her way to Lord-Captain Pietro Havarro, offering her services even before he begins his career.
Not to take anything away from his valor, but maybe that (Dark Voyage) is when she found him and took up her duty before they even knew each other. Though a "rogue" and not officially recognized, he realizes that she helped turn the tide, even though not in his immediate presence.
Perhaps blowing up tactical location, sniping, dragging the wounded to safety. Just ideas. She's not a heavy armor, up in front glory hound.

When constructing this vessel, players must select 1 Archeotech Component of their choice. So the primary mission for as yet unnamed...suggestions? our fast little frigate should be exploration & military. While we could take on trade missions, Hit & Run, Military Endeavors, and Exploration Endeavors will prove the easiest and thus most profitable.
Of course, a little piracy seems in order as well! :)

Btw, here is a Google Drive spreadsheet I have been using to create my character Clicky Me!
It has the ship stats on the Equipment tab.
Es'trisi Melchinon
Well, you are the captain :)
Since I also have Dark Voyage, thought I'd try to link up a meeting between my Navigator (Es'trisi Melchinon) and the good Captain during that event:
Training complete, Es'trisi was assigned to a low priority cargo vessel, The Eventutal, contracted to House Vor'cle. Showing his skill, Es'trisi flawlessly translated the
cargo scow in and out of the Warp for a full 5 years, dutifully fulfilling the contract for his House. His true mettle was shown during an incursion of Eldar
into Calaxis space. Using some sort of xeno-technology the raiders succeeded in forcing a number of ships in an area to translate out of the Warp.
A quick strike and The Eventual's conventional plasma drive was damages beyond repair. The raiders left the cargo vessel alone to target the only
warship to be interdicted out of the Warp, the Pride of Celedar. Seeing as the battle was going badly for the Imperial, it appears it was being
boarded, Es'trisi somehow managed to translate back into the Warp and appear back in normal space within meters of the bridge of one of the raiders.
Obviously startling the pilot of that raider, it maneuvered to avoid collision but instead collided with another raider. With two raiders venting into
space the Eldar re-evaluated thier situation and escaped into the Warp, leaving thier boarders behind to be slaughtered.
A quick communication to the Pride of Celedar as a courtesy and Es'trisi was back on his scheduled run.
I guess after the fighting was done, a debrief would occur on the Imperial ship and Es'tiri's actions ( a crazy close translation that would impress many ) and communication would have come to light. So his name would stay in Silas' ear until the time came for him to recruit his own Navigator.

Not at all.
So long as they don't prove unduly risky, its only illegal if we get caught.
It makes no sense to take on an obviously suicidal job, though.
(Pietro does have peer (underworld) and I'd a bit of a pirate after all.) Not to mention, the Humanitas is pretty well geared for military and criminal objectives quite nicely.

Think I'm finally finishing up. Revamped history...
Went Battlefleet homeworld (ItS p12).
I probably don't have time to make it pretty... But, should be done soon.
Battlefleet > Stubjack > Crusade (Call to War) > Press Ganged > Exhiliration (Thrill of War) > Arch-Militant
As a young Cadet, her ship was attacked, defeated and boarded... she was kidnapped (cut unsavory few years)... she made an opportunity to escape, regained her freedom and stole what passed for a shuttlecraft after blowing lots of stuff up.
Out of fuel and nearly air.. she was rescued by Lord Captain Pietro Havarro, responding to/investigating a faint distress beacon. Upon boarding, he discovers her unconscious, obviously abused/mal-treated and near dead form.
But what sort of individual could this be?

Enginseer Epri
Character sheet is up (yay), and to get things more or less done on my end, a rough outline of her backstory.
A short-tempered Enginseer and former Skitarii Tech-guard hopeful, Epri was all but informally exiled from her homeworld of Tolkhan after her sometimes borderline heretical ideas brought her into clashes with her superiors. She drifted aimlessly for a time, always quick to find work and almost as quick to be sent on her way thanks to her temper and propensity for violence.
While working on a remote, nameless outpost in the middle of nowhere, she and the other members of the outpost were beset by Dark Eldar. Rescue finally came in the form of the Imperial Navy. Though she was one of the few to escape the situation relatively unscathed, Epri now harbors a very special hatred for the twisted xenos.
I suppose I could link this up with you Dark Voyage folks somehow? If not, I'll just assume she semi-forced her way onto the ship due to the Reliquary of Mars history and just... kind of hasn't left.
Remi Nall
After that Pietro Havarro was set up with his own vessel and he started looking for the crew to go on, he clearly looked at what kind of vessel he got, cause Remi was just born for this craft. After his first inspection, the new Lord-Captain saw that the piloting seat was alrdy taken, and never asked if Nall was good. Though he doesnt know if Nall has the same idea's as him, he knows that he will never let the ship down, and therefor the crew that is on it.
this is what i thought about the Captain and the Voidmaster meeting each other
