Background:

Spoiler:
Silas Tyr grew up in Scintilla. His status as heir to the Tyr fortune (what’s left of it any way) allowed him to stand in equal footing with the sector nobility. The pressure to excel drove Silas to vice and to violence, as he fought many duels to defend the name of the house. But always Silas felt that his real enemy remained just beyond.

The terrible news of the discovery of the dynasty’s flagship sans its crew and his father confirmed for Silas the existence of the enemy.

Creditors, seeking to secure payment before the expected bankruptcy, forced Silas to liquidate much of the House’s holdings in the Calixis Sector in exchange for a grace period of several years to pay off the balance of what is owed.

Thereafter, Silas outfitted the ship as best he can and left for the Koronus Expanse to seek his fortune.
