once Rye posts all i need to know is if you all plan to sneak out and investigate or grab some rack time.

Since Fahd is going to be tired anyway, he's fine with sneaking about this evening.

Not sure how many checks you needed, seems like I'm also missing breakfast before I manage to get it right.....but I think we safely say that copying stuff isn't Ryé strong point ;)
Rye's work get sloppier and sloppier as he grows more tired, spilling ink everywhere
Pretty sure I don't have time to either sleep or look around

qwerty71 |

So Rye, Tyranius Fahd and Chella both work till the wee hours trying to get their Transcription down right. Rye in fact gets almost no sleep as he struggled. They are fatigued for the day. Tametomo gets enough sleep (if he chooses to) to get rid of his work fatigue. Darvik seems fine and is slowly becoming a favorite...Does the team investigate or sleep and if they investigate where do they go?

![]() |

I think the level we are on would be a good starting spot. If there is a level
Above and below, that might be better for the next night, unless we have plenty of time and can get it all done in one night.

qwerty71 |

The group returns to the basement and to their beds. Rather than get some sleep the five who did manage to finish work decide to stay up and investigate while their companion still toils away at his task. Some of the other acolytes are already in bunks and there are not enough bunks for all the initiates so some sleep on the floor. a few are up and talking at the center table.
sorry Rye, no sleep or sneaking around for you... too busy
you know this about the basement:
T7- the hallway with a dirty rug running through the middle and the symbol of Razmir crudely painted on the west end wall.
T10-kitchen-
T9-dining hall
T11-restricted area
T12-the cells
who goes and where do you go...?

![]() |

Sounds good on the restricted area. Let's just jump right in!

qwerty71 |

A stout heavy door bars your entry into the restricted area. You know from throughout the day that Egarthis and Krant carry keys. You may be able to open it via picking the lock but you have no equipment for that right now since your gear is still confiscated.

![]() |

Fahd curses at the lock. "We have to grabs those keys sometime tomorrow, if we have a chance. Any preference on where we look first?"

![]() |

We could simply try to get a better lay of the land and see if there is anything to discover in places we've seen. Could help later when we get those keys.

qwerty71 |

So is the party going to go to the second floor? If so will need stealth rolls from those that do.

![]() |

Darvik does his best to move around quietly but he lacks the training some of the others might possess.
Darvik: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

![]() |

Fahd also heads upstairs
Stealth 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

qwerty71 |

The five head upstairs using the lower staircase and see Rye still slugging away at his miserable attempts to transcribe text.

qwerty71 |

The team sees Rye and he explains how one of the middle tier acolytes is somewhere on the floor observing him from time to time and how he will distract the acolyte to allow the team some time to search.
hang from the walls of this long vestibule, and a richly embroidered carpet runs down the center. Opposite the large doors leading outside is a pair of tall, slender doors, with a gigantic silver mask emblazoned on the front. A pair of smaller doors is set into the north and south walls. A flickering green light plays throughout this chamber from masked sconces that run along the walls. You know from experience that two acolytes are present at the double doors leading to the Worship Hall throughout the day.
staircase that ascends in the center of this grand worship chamber. The thirty-one white marble stairs, each carved with one of the tenets of Razmir, climb to the top of a pedestal that supports a gigantic golden mask, the symbol of the Living God. As sunlight streams through the great stained glass window high on the eastern wall, it passes through the eyes of the mask and reflects through a great emerald set into its forehead, bathing the room in shafts of green light. This is where the guard who checks on Rye is usually posted. But he is not here at the moment.

![]() |

"Do we want to push further? Those double doors at T3 might take us somewhere."

![]() |

Chella will cast Detect Magic in each room. "Yes, let's see what's behind these doors," she answers.
I suppose you mean the double doors leading to T1.
Yeah, those were the ones I was referencing.
DM, one question before we go there...have we gotten our gear back yet, or are we running around unarmed and unarmored? IF so, we might need to be a touch more careful.

qwerty71 |

you are not fully trusted yet to get your gear back and if you get caught out of bed....
You do know that T1 is the courtyard where the sap drill occurred.

![]() |

Fahd whispered to the others. "We know where that goes. No reason to head out there tonight. Should we give it another day or two and hope we get our gear back? I'm okay with my fists but the rest of you wankers might be in some trouble."

![]() |

As the party passes back through his room Rye suggest that they be careful and it might be a smart idea to not walk around unarmed..just in case we do end up having to fight our way our of here.
Maybe wait another night and try to make some saps out of some stones/sand we can gather tomorrow and a (spare?) sock or possibly try to steal a knife during breakfast tomorrow, or try to locate a sturdy piece of wood to use as a club?

![]() |

wankers...lol... is he british?
Haha looks like he is! :D
Tametomo nods to Fahd and whispers "Yeah, I'll be happy to have my bow back. Not sleeping well without it."
Tametomo will be happy to have a night of sleep instead of a night roaming outside.

![]() |

Tyranius follows quietly. What are these fools doing? Sleepwalking? I will have to speak with the tomorrow....

qwerty71 |

So i take it the group is going to go back to the room and sleep? those that finished their transcription? Sorry Rye. If so I will continue.
The next day is more of the same.
* Woken up by the pudgey Krant for a meager breakfast where you all see Rye join you (fatigued conditions for Rye, Chella, Tyranius and Fahd). Krant seems to enjoy seeing some acolytes tired and thus susceptible.
* Work in the Yard cleaning (chopping wood, raking debris etc). You all are not the only ones tired.
* Prayer in the temple with Egarthis.
*Lunch of diminished portions
* First Floor cleaning (DC 9 Fortitude check, remember your fatigued status)
* Afternoon Prayer to the Living God (DC 5 CHA check to stay awake)

![]() |

Fatiqued is only a -2 to dex and str (and no run/charge) isn't it..so it shouldn't effect a fort save? Or am I missing something?
Going straight from his transcribing stuff and skipping most of breakfast Rye stumbles through the day trying to stay awake as he cleans the floors
fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
and then tries to look like he's paying attention during the prayers
cha check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

![]() |

Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Charisma: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6
Darvik handles the physical chores with little trouble. Using the toothpicks he found in the kitchen he was able to fool everyone into thinking he was awake for the prayer session.

![]() |

Fort 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Charisma 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Despite being tired, Fahd fakes his way through all the menial tasks.

![]() |

Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Charisma: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Tyranius spends the first part of the morning cleaning the floors though his work takes a bit longer than usual.
I feel like crap this morning. We need to end this tonight...

qwerty71 |

Once again Krant is up to his usual sadist ways and catches another acolyte falling asleep. After the afternoon prayers he brings the whole group back out into the courtyard and says "You all come here for purpose, you come here for direction, we give you a purpose and a direction to serve the Living God yet some of you take advantage of our hospitality. Some of you had enough energy to sneak out of the barracks and move around the temple last night. Some people were undisciplined last night. Some people were not in bed when they had the chance. Some people need to learn a lesson. You- you were up working, did you see anybody?" he points to Rye...
The party is confused since they know they were not seen.
thanks Darvik, forgot that part

![]() |

Fort save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Charisma: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Tametomo barely makes it through the work part but can't resist to fall asleep.

qwerty71 |

"No! No! Not him. I speak of one of you initiates. I speak of him."
Krant points to the larger initiate that gave you all the warning. "Someone was out of their beds and he was the guilty culprit in the kitchen sneaking more food. I want you" pointing to Tametomo "and him to test against each other." And with that Krant moves everyone to watch as the archer and the larger man face off in the courtyard. Krant drops the flail in the middle of the courtyard once more and gives you both saps...
Large Man init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Tametomo init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
The large man comes charging at Tametomo as soon as Krant gives the signal to begin...Charge: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 11...DMG: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
and swings wildly missing badly

![]() |

Dodging easily, Tametomo adopts a defensive posture.
"Look, friend. Not everything is solved with violence. You have nothing to earn if you beat me. I have nothing to earn either. I don't wanna fight you and I'm sure you don't want to either. The only way to break the vicious circle of violence is to either return against the ones who wish you harm, like our friend here." says the palarcher, pointing at Krant.
"Or to just let go and make the bold decision that you refuse a plain act of evil, attacking an innocent for nothing else than false glory."
Seeing the man frown, the tien warrior adds "And my friend Darvik here was greeted by his display against authority yesterday. Maybe, if you like it this way, you could gain glory from it too."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 Oh yeah!
Total defense, for an AC of 18 (+4 dex, +4 dodge)
