Moving up there doesn't seem to be anything amiss on the upper floors.............

Wolfgang, Karolina and Eris though are certain that something or someone is following them.

"Something is following us"

"I concur, actually" Wolfgangs nods at Karolina and turns back, studying the lower part of the room from the top of the staircase...

Wolfgang checks the room below, do I need to roll perception again?

"Perhaps this place has haunts," Eris observes. "I can hear it but not see it. If we can't find it, I'm sure it will catch up with us later..."

[ooc]Should we just keep exploring upstairs? Or did we already do taht and there's nothing amiss?[/b]

"I think we should go back down and clear the first floor. I don't like leaving myself open like this..." Wolfgang considers as he checks the stairs out.

"Lead on Wolfgang..the first floor should be clear"

Suddenly serious, Wolfgang nods at Karolina and starts descending the stairs...

This time, Wolfgang is sure that his senses do not betray him as Eris too spots the flash of something blue rushing about on a multi legged thing below. It may have realised it was spotted based on its frantic actions.

It's clear that the creature is armed for ranged combat after the brief glance.............

"Come out! We just want to talk!" Wolfgang shouts while preparing to shoot at whatever appears before him...

"You'd be wise to talk. This crossbowman would hit a tick at the center of your forehead...I promise you that," Eris says as she raises her own ranged weapon.

He;s holding a crossbow but it's a shortbow smh.

"You could end your lives instead!!!!!" as an arrow puncates his words. A blue Mite with Gross purple growth over his face appears, later on multiple legs emerges from beneath him as a multilegged centipede emerges from beneath the cloth table.
Wolfgang gets shot 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 2 = 101d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
His shooting though leaves mush to be desired as his arrow strikes deep into the wood a metre away from Wolfgang.....

Manaria spins around and launches a pair of force missiles back at the mite...

"Bad choice!" Wolfgang exclaims before shooting at the mite rider...

The first room the party chooses to explore contains nothing of interest.

The second room reveals two large tables that flank an oven built into the west wall of this kitchen. Jars of different sizes sit on the two tables in uneven rows. A narrow set of stairs leads down to a dark, musty basement.

"Let's check this floor before going downstairs"

"Wise words. I fully agree. Lead on, then!" Wolfgang says while sytudying the room for possible "surprises".

Placed yourselves on the staircase in the 3rd slide.
There is nearly 4 feet of water in the flooded area, which counts as a deep bog

Steep stone stairs descend into a vaulted cellar flooded with turbid water, in which dozens of wooden barrels idly float.
Wolfgang spots movement in the water!

We decided not to go down the stairs for the moment and check out the first floor instead

A few pieces of silver tableware lie strewn about on a 30-foot-long oak table, and more valuables are displayed in a large antique vitrine. The heads of three beasts—a dragon, lion, and goat—have been mounted above a fireplace on the north wall.

The party realises that they've being here already.

Once-fine furniture, now ripped and faded from neglect, adorns this chamber. Two large mirrors have been set on the north wall here, but cracks and dark stains mar their silvery surface, and many pieces are missing. A lute rests against the back of a stained red velvet sofa.

Wolfgang hears a voice in his head.
“Who are you, trespasser?”, “Who sent you here?”, and “What are you looking for?” in a rapid fire questioning voice.

The long bookshelves in these dusty alcoves are filled with books. The smell of mildewed paper hangs in the air.
This library contains a fine collection of books, maps, and other old documents, but mildew has ruined most.
A Book titled The Nine Secrets sits on a shelf.

Wolfgang feels something isn't right with the voice, he''ll need to try and coax more information from the voice.

Karolina manages to force the venom out of her body, managing to feel lightly better.

"Ahem... can you hear me? Honestly, if you want something from us you've better show up. We won't be able to help you, otherwise"

The rest
While Karolina is recovering, the rest seems to get the feeling that they arne't alone in this place.....

"Wait...you're hearing something right now?" Eris asks Wolfgang.

"I'm getting a creepy feeling about all this..."

"Lets check out the rest of this floor"

"My skills... well, uh... aside from my jolly personality I'm quite good at killing stuff with my crossbow... You'd have to interview the others if you want to learn what they can do. I'm just the most awesome of the lot, but they can be useful too..."

While wolfgang continues to converse with the voice in his head, he gradually gets the feelings that he's being played.

Meanwhile Karolina reads the book after throwing off the poison.
It proves rather interesting.

Eris is starting to think Wolfgang may have just lost his mind.....
