MOLG// WOTW// Murder's Mark

The talkative slave says "Zamir has the keys to our manacles. He is in the other room to the south. Most definitely he heard the boisterous one yelling and is preparing a nasty surprise for you all. "

Eponine once again asks for a peaceful surrender, shouting at the southern door indicated, "We are not necessirilly here to kill you. We can use your talents. If you are willing to free these slaves, and come speak about future business collaboration, you may well survive. Please, use some sense, and listen to the offer we have come to make. If you are dissatisfied, we can kill you later."

To her companions and the slaves, Eponine speaks in a much lower tone, "I could certainly use some help here. Remember our first objective is to recruit this man."

If the answer to Eponine is not positive, Ragnar will try himself:
"Zamir! Zamir! You probably didn't hear what happened because your guards died so fast they couldn't even make a sound before choking on their own blood! Corpses of your other men who were stupid enough to try and stop us litter the courtyard above as well. You have two options. You can either join us and our organization and continue to live and prosper in your business. I highly recommend you choosing this option. On the other hand, you can try to fight us, although so far your men's record hasn't been the best, to say the least - you have eight dead, while none of us is even injured! Ha! You know what, I'm feeling good today so I'm even willing to balance the odds in your favor a bit - come fight me out here, man to man!"

Might work? Sometimes simplicity is the answer.

This is to activate Danger Ward for reflex saves.

Short version of danger ward says if anyone botches a reflex save roll in the next minute, they get a reroll with a +4 insight bonus. Now watch a fort save come up. We are going into that douche's lair after this I presume.

Henrick shakes his head. "And they say dwarves are dour and rough around the edges?"

MOLG// WOTW// Murder's Mark

There is no answer coming from beyond the door and the party decides to open the door. The next room is a large hall is relatively clean and empty. A few racks on the walls contain wooden training weapons, and targets and straw dummies stand here and there. A strange wooden statue stands in front of a large alcove in the south wall. It has three tiger faces on its head, each facing a different direction, and six arms. The statue’s hands hold a variety of weapons; quarterstaff, sai, nunchaku, siangham, and kama. In the back of the alcove is a large wooden door.

My character wanted to be first in the door. Halflings, esp. those with LE faction, really don't like slavers.

Must be the surprise they were talking about. Well, I guess that explains a lot. Hard to reason with a wooden statue. Paul says as he moves back into position.

An idea flashes into Paul's head.

Once again, Eponine bellows her request at the door ahead, "If you come out now, peacefully, so that we might negotiate a new agreement whereby ow work for us now . . . we might be able to keep the Halfling from removing your head with a very pointy lance, otherwise, we blow the door to pieces, and let him have at. I prefer a more peaceful and slightly less bloody approach. It is your decision though, and regardless, we will respect that decision."

Eponine moves to a side of the hall to help keep the charging lane open for Paul and lowers her voice. "The rest of you should chime in, if you don't want the slaver to die. . . "

Again at full volume, Eponine adds, "Just so you cannot accuse us of hiding the ball, regardless of your decision, these slaves will be set free within the hour, and you will not be allowed to ever use a slave again."

Ragnar then turns to the door, "Whatever your stance is, I am sure we can be flexible with our terms and reach an agreement without more bloodshed; if you'd disagree this friendly offer, based on the blood trail leading here I'd say I'm quite sure it'd be your blood which will be spilt. The two burly men break down the door with their weapons and the party can see into the room ahead. This room is nicely decorated and comfortably furnished, unlike the rest of the complex. Cushioned chairs create a comfortable sitting area, and a large tapestry depicting a battle of dozens of dervishes in a bright yellow sandy desert adds color to the room. The air is scented with cinnamon and trophy heads and animal skins decorate the floor and remaining walls. Standing behind a couch is who you think is Zamir and a powerful tiger is at his feet.

Perhaps you might be interested in making a name for yerself that expands beyond this small reach? Or, I can let me friends here have at ye. I ain't had tiger steaks for breakfast in a long time."
