Moving again back to the cave you see the gremlin standing on a pile of trash. Seeing you he throws something pointy in your direction.Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

"Guess that pretty much says it." Aelden steps forward and swings at the little menace.

Att: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11


And Aelden suddenly yelps in pain. Looking down he sees dozens of tiny caltrops lying around. One of them is in his foot now. His aim is true though and a little ugly creature missing half its chest falls to the ground.

"Bloody..." Aelden looks around about his feet. Carefully...carefully he backs away from the area, with a noticeable limp.

"Watch out there, nasty caltrops."

Aurora sighs at the sight of the horrid metal devices. Speaking a word of power and throwing a hand forward towards Aelden, the caltrop embedded in his foot flying free and landing on her outstretched palm.

She drops the caltrop in to Aelden's coin pouch

A little reminder of the blood you spilled for the cause

She then makes a sweeping gesture with her staff and the remainder of the metal shards on the floor tumble and tinkle across the stone, crashing up against the far cave wall. She turns and addresses the party.

Aelden kicks the form of the dead gremlin. "His? Or mine, lass?" With that, he sets off in the lead.

You come into a cave filled with little scrapmetal. You have no idea how to navigate, but 2 of those gremlins are standing there with a very cleverly designed ballista. With a zing a bolt races toward you.attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 224d4 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 2) = 101d20 ⇒ 19 Who was first? The whole area is considered difficult terrain. Aelden can see a little bolt penetrating a soft spot in his armor

How far away are they? Can't tell on the map.


10 feet. Actually your ac was 4 higher thanks to cover but a nat 20 is a hit. Confirm did not work though. You can carefully walk to them but not charge.

"ARRGGGHHH!!" Aelden roars as the bolt finds his flesh. "Someone better bloody well do somethin' about these gits!"

He moves forward slowly, using all of his training to defend against another shot like that. Total Defense. HP 2/12. Y'all better get all offensive on these guys...

Aurora levels her staff and fires off a jolt at one of the gremlins.

That's the best I can do at level 1 Aelden, I don't get sparky spells of death for a while yet :s


Well after Auroras spell zapps the goblin it explodes in gory liquid.
The other looks at the soft tissue and .... starts to laugh like mad. Your turn again!

The barrel on Uran's rifle turns with a click and he fires another round at the creature.

Gregory moves forward and takes a swing at the remaining creature.

Greatsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11, for 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12 Slashing damage.


Urans Bullet strikes the creature solid in the chest and he toppels over. Combat over. Again you find trapmakers tools with them. After searching the other caves you enter another huge cage.


You reach Several different passageways converge on a narrow ledge
overlooking a rubble-filled cavern. The far wall is made of a
smooth, dark gray metal. A single circular door, tightly closed,
sits on the metal wall just above the upper level of the rubble.

Rules for this encounter:
Difficult terrain and Jinx aura. Roll every d20 twice take worse

Aelden pulls a potion from his pack and quaffs it. The first seems a bit stale, so downs another.

"Ahhh, that were proper 1420, that were..." he sighs contentedly.

He then looks to see if there is a safe way down.

Aurora pauses for a moment, and you see the circuitry tattoos on her skin moving. Incredibly they start to slide off of her, glowing with an azure light as the lines coalesce in to the shape of an owl, perching on her shoulder. She gestures and the creature flies off, up and around the cavern, evidently searching for anything hiding in ambush.

If it all seems safe
She begins a slow climb towards the door, taking her time as the owl continues to circle overhead.
Climb take 10 for total 10

"Seriously, lass?" When are ya gonna learn?" Then he carefully follows her down.

She studies the door, looking for anything obvious that might open it. The owl returns to perch upon her shoulder, its own head movements uncannily matching hers as she adjusts position to get a better look at the door's structure.

Any creature in this area must roll two d20s whenever a situation calls for a d20 roll (such as an attack roll, a skill check, or a saving throw) and must use the lower of the two results generated. This is a mind-affecting effect that does not work on animals, other gremlins, or gnolls.
