Aelden Cormallen |
Aelden advances a step, and pokes at the robot with his sword. "I said, stand down! Got any ears in that head o' yours mate?"
I will look for any lever or something that might be obvious. "On/Off" switches are not a known entity in medieval societies, so I'm looking for anything that would be 'odd' to me.

Aurora Ulfurdottir |
Translating as quickly as the machine speaks, Aurora summarises
It's following its programming to take the place apart to get spares to repair something, doesn't say what though.
she stares for a moment more, as if fully absorbing the image in to her mind, then carries on
Whether it's following another's directive or not, we can't have it disassemble the place
moving to a better vantage point she levels her staff and cries a word of arcane power, electricity flashes up and down it, focusing on a strange device on top of the staff, before a bolt of blue-white energy flies through the air towards the machine

"Intruder Alert, prepare for countermeasures, security is off!"
Charging the one who attacked him it moves to engage Aurora. You see a buzzsaw descending on you Aurora cutting open a gash on your left leg.
Charge: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 201d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The Chosen are next.
Aelden Cormallen |
Would I get an AOO on its charge? Aelden would be ready for such a thing.
AOO, in case: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 15 wpn focus, slayer trait
dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
"Damn!"Aelden moves get between the robot and Aurora, launching into an attack! "Move lass! Get behind me!"

Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Distracted by fighting with unfamiliar allies, the attack is...less than impressive.
Helikon |
With a mighty swing Aelden hits the robot, and although the hard casing prevents full damage he manages to break a little essential chunk out of the machine.
With the combined might of strenght and magic the machine sputters and breaks down.
Combat over.
Val hobbles back into the Foundry hugs Aurora and inspects the broken machine with her walking stick. "Thanks a lot, this machine suddenly came alive and started to dismantle the foundry. I would have been able to handle it, I think, but with my broken leg. Well Aurora what have you brought to the Foundry? I am sorry the tavern is closed, but I think the least I can do is over you a fine glas of sherry."
Aurora Ulfurdottir |
hp 4/7
Clamping a hand on the injured thigh and gritting her teeth, there is a brief flash of light and the wound has cauterised. Aurora frowns at the tear in her robe before looking up and nodding gratefully at Aelden
A good blow and well struck, I am glad the machine was not able to cause further harm
She hugs Val back and smiles
These able-bodied folk have volunteered to help find your father, we've already seen they are very capable of handling themselves, I have no doubt our faith is well placed
She favors her leg slightly as she moves to the doorway.
A sherry would be good about now, I'm sure we could all do with a little relief if you wouldn't mind Val, but rest your leg I'll go and fetch it.
As she returns with a filled glasses and hands them out, she notes
So this machine was triggered in to a 'repair mode' by something, and if it was found recently I wonder if that is anything to do with what's happening below to the flames?
Aurora takes a closer look at the machine to see if there is anything of interest that can help them.

Val:"You want to help find father. Well, the Tavern is closed, but I can offer you free lodging and food. Get yourself comfortable, while I clean up her. And maybe I find a few... trinkets you might use."
Vanya Ellian |
"Thank you for your hospitality. What trinkets were you talking about? Did your father find something useable?" Vanya continues the conversation while eating bacon and eggs.
Helikon |
Oh, my father found many useable things, and quite a few more were brought to him for inspection and identification. Mind you most is pure junk, but he has a knack for getting items together that work. Well somehow. And quite reguraly. Mostly. A well, get yourself comfortable and maybe get some shopping done. And then we will see. Maybe you should talk to the priest, too before you follow pops footsteps."
Mardavig |
"Very well, thank you Madam Baine," he says without any hint disappointment.
He turns to the other Chosen. "It seems we are together in this investigation, regardless of how Aelden feels about this. I have heard that the junkmaster may have something of interest to look into as well. We should pool our information and resources to most efficiently gather as much information as possible, as well as ensure we all have the necessary supplies."
"We will need a method of traversing submerged passages, as well as curatives and rations, including clean water."
Aelden Cormallen |
Val looks at Iosif and raises her eyebrow. "You just.. .wrecked it!"
"Good. Th' only good robot is a dead...well a broken one."
To Iosif he says: "Maybe I mind and maybe I don't, lad. Either way I'll be watchin' ye. Closely."
Aurora Ulfurdottir |
Well I can't make sense of where it came from, only what it was doing
Aurora looks crossly at the inert machine.
That's very kind of you to put us up Val she smiles.
Turning to the rest of the group she agrees with Vanya and Iosef
We should see the junkmaster if Iosef believes he might have a lead, the priest too. Let's acquire some supplies on the way to the nearest of those two
Breakfast finished, she leads the way out...
Aelden Cormallen |
Finishing his meal, Aelden lets out a sigh of content. "That were right proper that were, lass." He sits back and kicks his heels up on the table.
No sooner does he get comfortable than the group gets up to leave. "Don't you folk have any sense o' decency? A man needs time ta enjoy his bloody meal!" With an exasperated grunt, he drops his feet to the floor and stands up.
"Lets go then."
Iosif Laurentia Blandinus Monik |
Aurora Ulfurdottir |
Aurora too goes to the same shops as Iosif, after grabbing her pack from the tavern's hallway. She purchases rations, but trusts to the gear she already has for her own scavenging expeditions, thinking that should be sufficient for now.
Helikon |
With the councellors shop, you all buy at a decent discount. Rations are no problems and neither is rope. Uran leads you to the apothecary and you can buy up to two potions of underwater breathing, 2 Potion of CLW, one of CMW and one potion of endure elements.
Arriving at the Tempel the Headpriest warmly welcomes you and offers you to cast water breathing on, you, even extended via rod, wich should keep you 4 hours safe. He will tell you that he will prepare this for the next few days, as the return of Baine is paramount for the city.
Uran |
Uran thanks both the apothecary and the Headpriest for their generosity and promised to do all he can to return Baine.
So Uran has 135gp, but not a lot of equipment (due to his background) so he will spend the 35gp in purchasing basic supplies (backpack, rope, rations, etc) and keep the 100 to put in a group 'pot' to help purchase the potions (if this is what we decide to do). Not sure of the discount, but Uran should be able to purchase the 2 CLW with his donation.
Aelden Cormallen |
Aelden shakes his head ruefully at his new-found group of friends. "Could use some of the Pathfinder basic training, they could." He goes over his gear: rope, rations, waterskins, etc. All present and accounted for. He also makes sure both waterskins are - more or less - airtight. In a pinch, they will double as an air bladder. Just like the Venture-Captains taught him.
With a bit of sarcasm, he says: "Bloody well ready when you are."
Vanya Ellian |
Vanya has 30 gp to spend and puts them into the group pot.
"We should return to Val before departing, she wanted to show us the trinkets her father found. Maybe we can use some parts."
Aurora Ulfurdottir |
Iosif, if you feel there is value in engaging with the junkmaster prior to leaving then we should do that, fifteen minutes will I'm sure make no difference to achieving our goal, whereas a missed clue may impact us greatly. Lead on
Helikon |
