Tool sits quiet getting his thoughts together. i do not trust either of these groups. i don't see away out for this with out a fight. they aren't going to pay us and let us go that never happens. they will get what they want from us then they will wipe us out. Nor lied and miss lead us but he isn't trying to kill us. I feel we kill them before they kill us. i like credits just as much as the next guy. But i would want to live to spend them. I say we fight i would rather go out fighting, then die with full pockets. Tool readies himself for what ever the diction is.
Alim of the Qawiu Aldhihin Clan |
As the others speak, Alim is quick to calm down and hear what the others are saying.
Feeling that his last attempt at speaking was a bit more sharp than intended, Alim takes a deep breath and tries again.
Turning to Dahlia, Alim begins-"Dahlia, I did not know what you did with the funds you receive. However, I beg you to reconsider your choices. These Eoxians that are before us will not do anything worthwhile with any information you may present to them. They will take it, destroy us, and then proceed to the Station to retrieve what they desire. They will destroy anything in their path, including innocent civilians. Whether the Ambassador has done anything with them is besides the point right now. You can be frustrated and angry at the Ambassador and demand answers from him upon our arrival at the Station. But doing this sort of deal knowing that these individuals are arrogant and ruthless and will stop at nothing to get what they want..." Alim trails off, not sure how to wrap up his thought. He looks back at Dahlia with a pleading look.
Dahlia Morgandanger |
Dahlia considers all the input to their current situation, then motions everyone to their battle stations and clicks the Comms button.
"This is the Sunrise Maiden. You are interrupting a legal salvage operation and are currently not in good standing with the governing authorities in this sector. But we are not uncivilized, so we will discuss terms for the information you want. We will provide all the answers you seek when the following terms are met.
1. We demand 1 billion credits.
2. We demand you make reparations to all worlds and people's affected by your unlawful activities.
3. You will then remove yourselves from known space and never return." with a little smile, she adds the last bit.
"You have until yesterday to meet our demands.
Releasing the button, she yells to the gunnery post. "talks broke down! Open fire!"
LoreMaster GM |
You think you are in any position to give demands? You are funny and foolish. You will pay for your insolence with your lives. You all will be serving the Corpse Fleet soon enough.
Space combat begin!
The ship you are on has a computer that gives two +1 bonuses a round. You guys should discuss who gets them. The two most common strategies are 1 to your best gunner and 1 to your pilot action. The other is both go to gunners. That being said, you guys can take them where ever you want. So cast your votes to who should get the pluses. They can be changed round to round, but it is easiest to have a default strategy.

Alim's eyes become squinted as he smiles at Dahlia's decision.
Quick to action, Alim looks to Tool and shouts, "Let's not keep this fleet ship waiting! Let's see what this ship can do!!!"
LoreMaster GM |
You are a couple hours out (I believe 2 without double checking) and without a science officer, it is hard to say how quickly they move on if you could out run them.

Tool quickly gets used to the controls of the ship as he swings the ship out and around to face the enemy ship. Unfortunately, the enemy ship is able to lock on to you with their starboard side guns and blasts you! Luckily, those old shields are strong and the blast is unable to break through. But it is clear they are weakened at this point. 12 damage to your forward shields.

The enemy ship quickly loops around to get you in their forward facing arch. The pilot attempts to be evasive about it, but his movements are too predictable so it turns out to not be any harder to lock on.
Now for the bad news, once the enemy ship got into position they launched a plasma torpedo at you that found it's mark. It blows right through your starboard shields and actually damages the hull a bit. 19 damage in total, 4 damage to the hull.
The good news is they fired a lighter gun at you and that shot missed!

LoreMaster GM |
The enemy ship tries to press the assault on your starboard side, by the excellent flying from Tool makes it all but unreachable. They settle for an attack at your aft! They fire another torpedo at you but this one misses by a hair. Just so you know, given the flack thrower being your aft side weapon, if I did hit, you would get a free attack at the torpedo to blow it up but that is not anything we need to worry about right now.
While the torpedo flies by you, the light particle beam lands a shot against your aft side shields. The shot is unable to break though the shield though. 11 damage to aft shield but no hull damage
