Round 3 - Quick Wrap Up
Sunny and Tark take off after the ghoul. Sunny stays right on the undead monster's heels as it runs, while Tark lags further behind. The chase is stopped short, however, by a pair of silver fish that pierce into the ghoul's back and send it to the ground in a heap. When Sunny approaches it, it doesn't move. The ghoul is dead... again.

Combat's Over!
'Sunny' |
Sunny frowns as she tires to make Pai as comfortable as possible,
"Um...why can't ghouls climb trees? They in't zombies..." She asks. Her voice sounds more puzzled than anything else.
Is this the end for poor Pai? :(
And if so...What's to stop the poor person from becoming another of the things we have to worry about?
Tarchinis Verance |
Panting a little, Tark jogs back to the group, checking on Pai first.
"Don't scare me like that, mate. We have a lot more ships to board together!"
DM Bound shade, do Pai or Tark remember a decent campsite within a short distance of where we are?
DM Bound Shade |
@Tark: The entire island is only a couple of miles across, so it took you less than a day to reach the village on the other side. There's no place nearby where you stayed, although the tent where the ghouls were at was not there the last time you passed by.
@Pai: Give me a Fortitude save please.
Tarchinis Verance |
@Tark: The entire island is only a couple of miles across, so it took you less than a day to reach the village on the other side. There's no place nearby where you stayed, although the tent where the ghouls were at was not there the last time you passed by.
Tarchinis will relay this to the rest of the party as we're searching the ghouls.
'Sunny' |
Sunny offers to help carry the still prone seeming Pai.
"Here lass. If'n ye get a hankerin' fer...y'know...odd things? Be sure ta' speak up, okeys?" She says quietly to the Gnome.
Also hoping Pai isn't kept stiff fer too long.
'Sunny' |
Well...there also be hoping Pai is fit ta travel, but other wise? Aye, I be happy ta' get wood. (^_^)
DM Bound Shade |
There wasn't any actual search of the camp, but rather a mention of possibly doing it.
A search of the ghouls turns up little, but venturing to the tent yields more rewards, albeit ones only found through a messy and disgusting search.
Within the piles of rot, gore, and filth stained clothing, you manage to recover a small amount of portable and valuable goods. Therein, you find: a sealed leather hip flask depicting a crocodile, three very sharp, oft-used daggers (all of which are masterwork), a chest containing six flasks of alchemist’s fire, two barrels of very cheap perfume, a wedding dress inlaid with pearls and set with three tiny rubies, a whalebone corset set with mother-of-pearl inlays worth 20 gp, a dozen silver hatpins set with tiny obsidians, scattered gems, 56 gp, and 97 sp.
Aoro Osris |
Aoro cast a spell to detect any magic. Looking over the items.
"I will take two of the daggers if no one else can make better use of them. As for the rest it's fairly light, no more then that chest Sunny is lugging around already. But indeed the barrels can and will wait, not as if they are worth much. Depending on what we find at the wrack we could dump the perfume, clean them and put them to better use on our way back."
Tarchinis Verance |
"Shall we take the small and easily portable?
Take the coins, daggers, alch-fire, hatpins, gems, leaving the chest, barrels, dress, and - if Sunny wants to stay au naturale- the corset? Whatever is decided is good for me, ready to move on.
Gene Deathcraft |
Daggers are not arrows, they should not be wasted when used. At least I don't think so.
even arrows have a 50% return rate. Unlike my bullets XD.
"I don't mind lugging the extra items around for the group that arnt destributed." Gene hesitantly mentions.
'Sunny' |
Though, t'would be hard for anything thrown int'a muddy waters to be found again. I dun't see folks getting back what they threw in.
Sunny picks up the proffered item.
"What's a 'Corset'...?" She asks puzzled, even as she turns the item this way and that. Obviously trying to figure out what the collections of fabric and bones is for.
She opens her small chest and offers to help carry things by putting them inside. Then she uses some of the extra ropes found to work into a 'sling'.
"Now I can share me load with some one else!" She grins, indicating the new rope 'handle's she's affixed.

At this time Sunny seems disinclined to strap into the corset.
'Sunny' |
:P
Sunn nods, happy with the split and ready to share the carrying of her load.
"Onwards!" She exclaims happily.
Yah, am hoping your back to yer normal self too, Pai! (^_^)
DM Bound Shade |
@Pai: The paralysis only lasted half a minute, so you're fine by the time that everyone makes their way over to the tent.
@Aoro: The only aura comes from within the sealed hip flask.
@Everyone: Remember that these items are covered and stained in old gore and rot. It's going to take a great deal of scrubbing(or liberal uses of mending and/or prestidigitation) to get them clean.
'Sunny' |
Yay! Pai be back ta' normal! *Hugz Gnome enthusiastically* (^_^)
Aye, but we's got's folks whut can do both back on'a ship.
Also, see? Another reason fer Sunny ta' not be wearin' anything. T'is all grotty. :P
Aoro Osris |
Aoro has mending and nothing better to do at the moment so at least the daggers will be clean and anything else he has time for. Sense these are masterwork daggers if anyone is going to use them as throwing daggers, your not getting one. Aoro has a normal one he can give for that. xP
Spellcraft vs Flask: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
DM Bound Shade |
@Aoro: Breaking the wax seal placed on the flask and pulling out the cork, you peer inside, examining the contents with your the sensitivity to magic granted by your spells. After a short time of examining the aura of the magical liquid inside, you determine that the potion is one that offers a moderate healing effect, capable of closing wounds that could fell most men.
The potion inside the flask is a potion of cure moderate wounds.
'Sunny' |
*Skippy, skip* (^_^)
Tarchinis Verance |
"Well, if we're all tidied up here, right this way." Tarchinis says, giving an exagerated court bow and sweeping his arm to point down the jungle path. He considers his chewed-up colleague for a moment.
"Pai, would you like me to take point, now?"
'Sunny' |
Yay! (^_^)
As Sunny pads along, obviously enjoying her bare feet scudding through the sands, her eyes grow slightly wider as she takes in the sight that is the ship Pai and Tarch are leading them towards.
Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
How close or far away from the beach is it? What state is she in? Etc, etc. (^_^)
DM Bound Shade |
Hey, I know that I'm being slow with this, and for that I apologize, but please keep joking around to ooc tags. I don't want things to get cluttered up or confused.
Day 27 - 28 Sarenith 4712
Coconut Beach
After travelling for a short time, you exit the jungle. It opens up onto a flat plain of sparse, tough grass and an extensive beach that runs along the eastern side of the island. The mountains to the west continue to rise upwards, covered in bits of scrub and other life, but otherwise still very sparse.
The trail grows closer and closer to the beach. Palm trees are the only large plant life that's taken root here, nestled amongst the tall grasses that are common near the beach. Large coconuts hang from the tops of the palm trees. A wooden palisade can be seen atop a trail on the mountain range further to the southwest, a trail leading to the gate. At the base of the path are a large collection of fields, plant-life that is obviously out of place.
You're about 3/5ths of a mile away from fields, and 4/5ths of a mile from the base of the trail. It's difficult to judge distance beyond that, as you're at a low point currently.
'Sunny' |
Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
"We can collect 'em all after we've fixed the ship. Maybe use one of tha' ship's boats ta' help carry 'em all?" Sunny suggests, then slows.
"Like whut Torque said. How did they taste Tarch? Pai?" She points with a free hand to some things lying scattered at the base of some of the palm trees.
Aoro Osris |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Aoro looks around while Little Ro takes flight to take in the lay of the land or spot anymore wildlife from the air.
"I would guess unless our guest say otherwise that this was done by something native to this island. It may still be lurking in the area. That being the case we etheir move on quickly or retreat as my more useful spells are exhausted. And luck does not seem to be favoring us today."
Ro's Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Tarchinis Verance |
"I'm afraid I have no idea who's responsible for this," Tarchinis replies, continuing down the coast.
"The Infernus should be just about due south from here, " he adds, glancing around.
