See what I did there, it's not magic it's just steam punk science hehe
Going to be fun if she meets a Mage.
"It's magic"
" no it's not its ..."

Well there you see you are wrong
Its not magic, that's an archaic and misleading word. The so called "prayer" is in fact the act of manifesting a perturbation the energy fields inherent with in the natural world. The manifester leans a cogitative pattern normally a sequence of thoughts and actions that allow the brains synapse to alter its electro-gorganic field is such a way as to felicitate a desired perturbation the energy fields. Such things a spirit, energy, life, anti life fields. The so call divine part of the cogitative pattern is in fact just focus for that particular sub-set of cogitative patterns.
:)

@wombat/sallrana: wasn't saying anything about pvp, I just like to apologize in advance for playing jerk characters, cause I'm not a jerk in real life, and it can be hard to differentiate context in a text-based format.
@Gatsby: I have no problem with describing what I wanna do and letting the dice fall where they may. just figured I should ask before hand so I didn't step on anyone's toes.
@chillblame: normally, ya, the aegis gets to summon armor. with my archetype, however, I don't summon armor; I channel the abilities into my body instead.

chillblame |

Vrog, I have no problem with the way your character acts, provided that he develops. If roger stays the same then it might pale after a while.
Take for examplr the charactervof jayne from firefly. He starts as a mercenary dick and he devevlops through the show, making mistakes and learning and eventually ends up as, well, still a mercenary dick. But he fights by his friends side in a do or die battle and despite some moaning about the fact, he saves people and survives.
Sorry, dropped into lecture mode.
Still I hope you get my point. As I said beforehand I like the interplay between the characters, it makes the situation interesting.
Besides, its fun to play the low wisdom thug from time to time.

I personally have no problem with Roger-style characters either - one of my longest tabletop campaigns had one of the characters caught, and with very little prompting he tried to sell the characters to a group of duergar slavers. At first i assumed that this would break the party, but instead it gave them a lot of rp opportunities player to player ad the character slowly earned back the trust of the party and became highly prized as a rather amoral strategist.
I think chillblame has hit the nail on the head with the character development thing - the bruiser can be a reljable go-to character for many things that the main party woyld benefit from but would find unpalatable to actually do, as long as the relationship between him and the rest of the party develops over time.
I guess what i'm saying is, i like Roger. Your party was created, on purpose, to contain characters whose backgrounds contain inherent conflict, because resolution and acceptance (even if begrudging) are both rp opportunities that, in my experience, rarely get to be fully explored.
To put it in a single sentence - there's a reason that Belkar is one of the most popular characters in Order of the Stick. :)

No such thing as magic, it's just some thing science has not explained yet
:)

Vrog Skyreaver |

btw, if you guys don't say anything, Roger is gonna end up trying a buncha different things because he doesn't know any better: drinking salt water, not pulling guard, over eating, forched marching, etc. He knows nothing about living in the wilds, and is pretty well unprepared for it. get him into the seedy underbelly of a major metropolis, however, and he's back in his element.

Jack Mister |

I'm liking the fact Jack is used to a system that is falling down - as things get complicated he's reflexively chatting away in Hunter's Cant.
The fact we're going after the ghost sound is a but sad though...

GM Gatsby |

No problem Gator, I got Baldwin a decent hit on a creature for you in your absence.
Sallrana and John, you're both lucky that guns deliver ranged touch attacks - you're hitting, but the damage dice don't seem to be favoring you.
As soon as Jack posts I'll update the combat, but I'll let Baldwin save an action for the next round.

chillblame |

how does jack get three bite attacks doing two different damages?
attack, bite: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 2 = 14damage: 2d6 + 8 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 8 + (1, 4) = 20
attack, bite: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 2 = 17damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 8 + (1, 5) = 20
attack, bite: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 2 = 19damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 8 + (2, 2) = 18
I'm not saying its wrong, but are two supposed to be claws

Jack Mister |

Damnit, yes two are supposed to be claws. Thanks! Mn, 3, 6 and 8... I must have insulted the dice roller's mother...
