Let's see if I can get a post in before the site decides to not function any longer

Unless I'm reading something wrong here..you don't get a free attack from flying through an enemy. Normally the enemy get's a free attack if you fly through them unless you succeed on the check. You get to choose which gun to fire and it will be at close range (as opposed to it's actual range/arc based on your distance/position to the enemy at the end of your move) - but it doesn't mention this being a free/extra attack

Flyby:

The ship moves as normal, but it can move through 1 hex
occupied by an enemy starship without provoking a free attack
(as described in Moving through Other Starships). During the
following gunnery phase, you can select one arc of your starship’s
weapons to fire at the enemy vessel as if the vessel were in close
range (treat the range as 1 hex), against any quadrant of the
enemy starship. To perform this stunt, you must succeed at a
Piloting check (DC = 20 + 2 × the tier of the enemy starship).
If you fail this check, your starship still moves as described
above, but you follow the normal rules for attacking (based on
your starship’s final position and distance), and the movement
provokes a free attack from that starship as normal.

So it's nice to get an extra gun to be able to fire (if you have another person who can function as a gunner and possibly avoid being to far away/getting a range penalty but it won't allow someone to fire twice in a round

Scarab Sages

Sorry for not updating sooner..but by the time I got around to it the website was down again..

Deciding to let your enemy flee before you you guys decide to have a short victory celebration before continuing towards your destination; the planet filling your main viewing screen with a nice green dot to show your intended landing location near the abandoned station you are here to visit.

As you approach the planet in your starship, you notice a dangerous storm that interferes with the ship’s sensors. The storm’s erratic movements and intensity make it too dangerous to land inside.
To continue with the mission, you must land several miles away and approach the site on foot.

After landing, you can make your way to the coordinates provided for the abandoned outpost. As you travel you take a look around at the almost empty sand flats around you as you see what appears to be a small village of roughly 40 houses in the distance right in the direction you are heading. What looks like 2 humanoids seem to be approaching your location, right now they are to far away to get a good look at..and they might not have spotted you yet

What do you guys want to do?

Their ears are much bigger and a lot rounder and their hairs are a lot shorter. They are also a lot bigger and judging by only these 2 a lot more muscular. Their tails seem to be more like a third arm and move around not only to provide better balance but are used to other types of movement as well. They even seem to play a part during conversation which becomes apparent when they come closer to you and you can make out that they are friendly and wish to communicate with you..a lot of sounds and gestures are made..but it's a language unlike any you've encountered so far.

@Dethara; not for this part. But diplomacy (and other skills) can certainly come in handy later

Avoiding a first contact foul up by not insulting the locals with using some rude gestures and driving them of mad you seem to make a favorable impression on the locals.

Mightily Impressed by Zapp's introduction of everyone along with Quip's performance of a spaceship. They introduce themselves as Throttle and Vinnie and motion you to follow them towards town. Halfway towards your destination there you come across a motorcycle with a combustion engine which produces a lot of black smoke and even more noise as Throttle gets on one and rides in into town to announce your arrival.

As you follow into town a few minutes later almost the entire village is standing in the town square awaiting your arrival. A lot of the younger men sit on motor cycles and rev up their engines as you walk past them towards the middle of the group, it gives of the vibe of being some sort of a tribute, or of them paying you respect.

One very old man covered in scars and with half of his right ear missing limps towards you and motions for you to come forward and tell the tale of your mighty space battle for the entire crowd - having been informed on how impressive it was by Throttle
Good luck on telling an equally impressive tale as before with your 2 natural 20's ;)

You can interact with the locals if you wish to do so. Diplomacy can certainly be used here, as can bluff. Other uses of skills can be tried if you can give me a good reason on why it would work. As a hint; you are pretty sure that getting into either a bike race or doing some impressive stunt on a bike will for sure cur favor with most of the crowd (= piloting check)

Quip looks around for some scrappy rubbish, and tries to build something functional. Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

Scarab Sages

As Quip assembles some spare parts into a bike and has Mec-01 race it and even win from one of the locals while the rest of you impresses them with your story telling, general friendliness and even the willingness to try one of Mad Eyed mooney's home brews they gradually open up more and more to you.

Mostly they seem happy and impressed that you managed to drive of the "Sky Monster"

There's still a language barrier ..but they tell you that the outpost "shoots fire" ..which may or may not be actual fire, or most likely it's laser fire which the locals are not accustomed to.

They give you directions on where to go by drawing a map in the sand for you to follow.

They also warn you that there is a toxic cloud storming around the area - which may or may not be caused by the exhaust fumes of the bikes they race.

And you think they are trying to warn you that there is one of there own, but not one of them (translation trouble) who's taken up residence in the outpost and scares everyone away. Some of them tried to talk to him once but he hurled blobs of something at them from out of no where. They are too scared to go near him now.

You are welcome to stay with the villagers or move towards the outpost; either is fine with the locals

"As much fun as it is to play with the locals," "Jack" notes. "We have a job to do."

The android hasn't a great habits of such games. What for a weird people is living here. Are every guys in the stars so funny? But the party has a job to do, like Jack repealed.

Well I think it's better to go now.

Scarab Sages

After saying goodbye to the villagers and taking some mystery meat on a stick for the road with you you depart for the outpost

After you depart the village, you eventually encounter the edge of the storm that forced you to land away from the outpost.
It takes 3 hours of travel from the village to reach the outpost thanks to the clear directions you received from the natives.
If you try attempting to wait out the storm you find that it is stationary — clearly some kind of ongoing phenomena that cannot be waited out. The closer you get to the outpost, the stronger the effects of the storm become.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Hazard: For each hour after the first you travel in the storm, you must succeed at a DC 10 Fortitude save or suffer the effects of the storm. The storm has strong winds and acidic rains

So 2 fort saves DC 10 for each of you and you take 1d4 acid damage for each failed save
