KULIK's step is light as they bring the dwarves out; any day he liberates someone who is a captive, whether slave or prisoner, is a good day.
The half-orc does little talking, but raises his brow as Krali chatters on. KULIK not recall dwarves so talky, he thinks to himself. But maybe KULIK just not paying attention. KULIK do that often when others talk.

Bellum will re-cast freedom of movement before leaving the central chamber, so he should still have about 30 minutes left when we enter the cavern.
"My, I wonder if we might locate the skull of Borsaget? I've always found chatting with the dead utterly fascinating."

![]() |

Overland Flight and False Life have 3 hours left once we arrive at the current chamber; not casting any new buffs at this point.
"My, I wonder if we might locate the skull of Borsaget? I've always found chatting with the dead utterly fascinating."
"That would seem to be a prudent course. More information is always good."

![]() |

Sierra listens to Krali's stories absently at first, looking at the skeleton of the minotaur leading the way. May it be destroyed to spare our living allies. If not, I'll take care of it myself. The mention of the architect finally pulls her focus to the dwarf. "I think confirming the status of the interred spirits is a very good idea. There is no way to know what our enemies may have done to them."
Sierra will wait to renew her 10 minute spells rather than have them expire again.

![]() |

Missed that we had a new map up, even though GM Chie posted about it. Whoops!
After a bit of additional wandering, you pop back out in a large natural cavern with a smooth floor of polished granite and a high ceiling studded with stalactites and limestone draperies. Deposits of quartz and huge veins of iridescent minerals bathe the cavern in a soft pale-green radiance. The walls of the cavern are lined with hundreds of dwarf-sized burial niches from floor to ceiling. Many of the lower niches are empty, aside from dust, stray bone fragments, and empty funerary wrappings.
KULIK takes a careful look about the chamber before them, taking particular care about the stalactites overhead — things lurk among those often, experience has taught him. Take 10 on Perception for 37 (darkvision). He recalls what talky dwarf person Krali said about Borsaget, and keeps an eye out for that name as well.

Jin also keeps a close look out for a magic skull. On the assumpting that it might be some sort of strange undead or spirit he casts Deathatch as he floats along.
Does anyone know anything about this Borsaget? In fact, does anyone know much about this Magrim either? Given we are tramping through an Ossuary dedicated to him it might have been an idea to ask...

A little more detailed information about this room: It is DIM LIGHT, from the glowing minerals. Additionally, the ceilings are 60 feet high!
Peeking around the corner, Kulik and Jin-Goro can see four large dinner plate sized Gouges in the walls of the burial chamber. From what you can recall about Runeplates, this is where they should have been.
It is also readily evident what happened to all of the bodies of the revered dead from this chamber. A large pile of Scrap Metal, armored bodies, and leftover bones are piled haphazardly in the corner of the room.
Jin-Goro's deathwatch can immediately recognize the Overwhelming presence of the undead from that pile. which is enough to give you a surprise round!

My surprise round action depends on the result of Jin-Goro's spell, and where the creature actually is. Can you place it on the map?

GM Chie |

Additionally, as with many powerful undead, they can sap life with just a touch, exacerbating any additional strikes Energy drain! Hope you guys brought Diamond Dust!
Seeing how this Mass of bodies is oddly slapped together, you think it might have the ability to add bulk from any Dead or Dying bodies in the area This one's the doozy. I'll just copy paste:
Absorb Dying Creature (Su) A demonflesh warsworn can consume any dying creature by moving into the same space. This immediately kills the creature, absorbs the corpse into the demonflesh warsworn, and heals the demonflesh warsworn by an amount equal to the creature’s Constitution score. Absorbed corpses can’t be resurrected by any effect short of a miracle or wish until the demonflesh warsworn that consumed them is destroyed.
Additionally, being constructed mainly of Bone, Gore and Armor, and motivated by Bloodlust and War, the Warswarn has some control over Weapons and Heavy armor in the immediate area. Telekinesis and Animate Object, but only for Weapons and Heavy Armor!
The Warswarn attempts to resist the lure of Urgathoa!
Will: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29 Seems important, I'll reroll this!

Be careful friends, I control this creature for now but it wont last for long. It absorbs the dead, dooming you to oblivion and denying you the chance for resurrection with anything but the MOST POWERFUL magic. Take care. I would suggest we destroy this thing now before my magic lapses
Turning to the creature he addresses it sharply, stay where you are, offer no resistance to I or my allies here
As part of the spell it automatically understands what I tell it to do. I suggest we destroy it while it cannot do anything to us. I dont particularly want to be dragging around something that seems as dangerous as this.
Turning to Boris he says, Boris, hack this thing apart

![]() |

"Gladly. If weapons are not effective, I will burn it away."
Assuming nothing else bad happens, I'd be happy to burn a heal to get it low enough for a quick cherry-tap.

Boris the Minotaur Skeleton |

Boris clanks forward towards the creature, greataxe raised high and begins to chop at it.
OK, a few rules questions. From what I can tell control undead is complete control. Given its a 7th level spell and only lasts 1 minute per level that seems appropriate. I dont believe anything breaks that control, there is no mention of it in the spell at all. If you think it would break control then I wont do this. I will take a differrent approach instead.
Secondly, having told it to offer us no resistance is it effectively helpless and if so can it be coup de graced? Obviously it would be immune to the fort save but does the auto crit apply? If not Boris will just start full attacking it provided it doesn't break control.
Surprise round he moves up, round 1 he starts attacking

If weapons do not work I am inclined to plane shift it to the positive material plane, its quick, simple and clean and doesnt waste our healing resources.

I'm not super worried about it, Especially if it is disabled for 15 minutes or so. Presumably, hacking it apart is the next plan of action as soon as you guys take care of the Glabrezu (Glabrezus? I'm going to use Glabrezu as the plural of Glabrezu.)

As Bellum looks into the eyes of the Skull, a pale blue flame begins to glow in the empty sockets. Over the course of the next few moments, the flames grow Brighter and Brighter. The rigid jaw creaks for a moment before a disembodied voice booms from the empty cavity.

Borsaget, Keeper of Taal Mornat |

"It's about F~@%ing time that you lot freed me from that slop! Can you imagine Bumping and Grinding against all those other Dwarf Corpses? It was like an Urgathoan Bachelorette party!" One of the flames flickers for a moment, almost like the skull was winking? "Name's Borsaget, but you folks seem to have figured that out already. What brings you to Taal Mornat?"

![]() |

"I did not expect the fiend to retreat so readily. Perhaps I should have attempted to bind it." The Pharasmin's musing is cut short as the skull begins to speak. "We are seeking the traitor that defiled this place with his foul necromancy. If you can help us navigate the ossuary and perhaps provide any information about what has occurred here, we will return as much peace as we can to those interred here."

Borsaget, Keeper of Taal Mornat |

"Well Thank Magrim that Someone's trying to put this shit back together. That One Eyed Bastard dwarf came in earlier, and started tearing the place apart! Dragging all the bodies off the shelf, Cutting apart these big fleshy things, before slopping that in with the bones. He must know about the Runeplates, because he even pried those out to help animate that giant wiggler. How did you all manage to take the thing down?"
Borsaget struggles in Bellum's hand, trying to get a closer look at her surroundings. "It truly is a shame... All my beautiful work, scattered across the floor like Trash! You'll show that Short Shit who's really in charge here, won'cha?"

![]() |

Jin turns to regard the skull and Sierra. It was dealt with by means of "foul" necromancy...

![]() |

"And if you were a white necromancer I might forgive it." Addressing Borgaset, she smiles grimly. "We have sent him to the Boneyard once. I intend to make the second trip permanent."

![]() |

![]() |

"No, I suppose not." Sierra murmurs quietly. "So long as we cooperate."

![]() |

Bellum's eyes light up with delight as Borsaget begins speaking.
My! She certainly has a way with words. What a delight!
"I assure you, we'll have this place ship-shape in no time! Any advice you'd like to give us about your domain? Secret passages? Ingenious traps?! Automated defensive measures?!? Mysteeeeeeeerious artifacts?!?!"
The gnome's voice rises with excitement as he considers the possibilities.

![]() |

Aderyn has nothing to add, so remains content keeping an eye out for trouble while the others speak to the skull.
The winged monkey emerges from the elf's skin, and returns the wand to its place.
