With a wave of his hand Jin casts a simple spell and moves up and away from the enemy.
Taking the extra movement from blessing of fervour, casting grace as a swift action and double moving up out of danger

Sorry, for some reason, the update did not show in my thread.
Nikolai frowns, then flies above the drakes, and engulfs both in a blast of cold.
Cone of Cold: 15d6 + 15 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 1, 4, 6, 5, 4, 4, 2, 4, 1, 4, 4, 6) + 15 = 72 Cold damage. DC 26 Reflex for half.

Also, Sierra, that bridge is Less of a Platform, and more of 4 chains strung across a lake of Lava. You could probably stand on it, but to be able to move at all you’ll need to make an Acrobatics or Climb check. Additionally, it is unstable enough that you count as Flatfooted.

Bah, missed the window to finish editing. Let's try this again!
Jin-Goro's attempt to pull the Snout out of the burning magma is rebuffed, the heft of the beast resisting proving to be too much. Boris's axe skims the surface of the Lava, the sharpened edge skipping off the molten surface just shy of the Dragon Snout.
Kulik, temporarily dazed by the heat, snaps to before firing another volley of arrows at the terrifying Snoot-beast below!

![]() |

Is that enough to finish it off?

Borsaget, Keeper of Taal Mornat |

Narrowing her Sockets, Borsaget glances around the room, before focusing on the top of the Tallest Column. "Torag's T@$)#! That pillars covered in Coin! At least these Scaly F*$K$ were good fer something!"
Atop the pillar, is a mountain of various coins and artistic gems totaling around 9500 gp, partially covering a velvet-lined oak case holding a dwarf sized wedding gown adorned with pearls and moonstones. Attached to a battered quarterstaff is a Void Pennant, waving in the balmy Volcanic Draft.

GM Chie |

Across the river of Magma That you can all easily fly over is a solid iron door that is cool to the touch. On the other side, a small square chamber is oddly cool even though it’s located a few yards from a lake of molten lava. Empty cubbyholes line the walls, and a large mat made of woven grass sits in the middle of the floor. A small stone pipe protrudes from the middle of the north wall, carved to resemble the head of a mole wearing an ornate crown. Lining the wall under the pipe are five backpacks.
On a small meditation mat in the center of the room, is a woman of Qadiran descent. Seemingly out of it for a moment, she glances at the new arrivals into her room. "Huh. So the Decemvirate finally caught up, huh? Seems about right." Standing slowly, she rolls her shoulders back and sighs. "So, which group did they send this time? Are you the Kill First and Ask questions later type, or can we be civilized here?"

![]() |

"I will answer you as you answer me. I expect the rest of my party will offer the same." Sierra replies, watching the woman closely. "I am Sierra Heartward. I don't believe Torch ever had cause to introduce us, but I assume you are Muhlia al-Jakri? We are here to deal with Thurl and his allies. You might surmise that I have an interest in reconciling with rogue Pathfinders, however."
Lifesense registering on her?

![]() |

Assuming that it is Muhlia...
Nikolai nods politely to Muhlia.
"I can understand zat you do not recognise me, since I am currently vearing ze shell of one of Zurl's minions, but it is Nikolai Tesla (now a Trade Prince); if you recall, I vas zere in Taldor viz you vhen you took out zat bastard, Dalsine (and I dealt viz his cousin). Diplomacy - 'Take 10' = 43.

![]() |

Yes, as you must have already surmised we are Pathfinders and we are here to stop Thurl. While you may have lead my faction in the past your actions have made you something of a pariah. Perhaps if you were to help us now deal with Thurl you could improve matters in the future. What are you willing to tell us of his plans?
Diplomacy, heroism: 1d20 + 34 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 34 + 2 = 44

![]() |

"Most of those teams are at Taldane libraries or Chelish weddings, if I know Dreng's sense of humor."
Bellum spends a Veil Point to change into a very convincing facsimile of an old man in a nightgown.
"Good news Pathfinders! You managed to get 4 hours of sleep!"
As he continues to speak, Bellum's form shifts into various of his compatriots in the Society's leadership.
As Ambrus Valsin: "You don't survive as long as we have in the society..."
As Shiela Heidmarch: "...without knowing when to talk..."
As Marcus Farabellus: "...and when to fight."
As Eliza Petulengro: "We know that things are often..."
Returning to himself, in a flash of scarves: "...more than what they seem on the surface."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (14) + 28 = 42

GM Chie |

Hearing Nikolai's voice come from the Giant Minotaur incites a small smirk from the otherwise dour woman. "Nikolai, it Has been a while. So you are a Trade Prince now... How is Qadira? I'm afraid with the people that I have on my back, I won't be able to return. It truly is a shame how many bridges I have burned up to this point..." With a downward glance, she looks at the locket, and pops it open. "So I suppose that you found my escape route. No matter. I didn't expect an esteemed group such as yourselves to be in charge of Tracking me down. I suppose occasionally, Mutton-Chops picks the right team for the mission."
"I'm not really certain what Thurl is up to at this point, he has kept himself locked in one of the deeper chambers, keeping company with Demons gated in from the Abyss itself. Between that and..." she shudders, gripping one of the Kukris at her belt, before continuing. "That thing that Thurl slopped together from all of those bodies... I'm not entirely on board with his ongoing operations."
"Thurl's been manufacturing these monsters of Bone and Demonflesh, and sending them back out through the Labyrinth. I'm certain that you've seen something of their ilk on the way in? About 10 feet tall, Calcified bone and Gobbets of Flesh? Several dwarf skulls lined up on the top, with a mockery of a beard made from rent skin?" Jin-Goro, from what research you did Earlier with Page-Bound Epiphany, you've got a pretty good idea that these are FIENDISH YOUNG ADVANCED FOSSIL GOLEMS Let me know what you want to know about them, (I'd give you 4 questions with your 40 Something.)
"As for his plans...", she begins, looking to a 'Scroll' made of blackened flesh with tattooed ink. "I heard Thurl speaking with these Massive Green creatures, with multiple arms and large horns. In their talks, I heard mention of my name, as they looked back over at me. When I started hearing that, I waited until they weren't paying attention, and grabbed the Scroll and one of the Rune disks that he was Siphoning energy from. I'm not sure what this means, but perhaps it might help you decipher his plans? I've stayed out here since then, and that was a few days ago."
Taking 10 minutes, you can decipher the Arcane secrets of the scroll! Although it is nonmagical, is valuable for the arcane secrets inscribed upon it — specifically a ritual of transformation that enables a powerful mortal cultist to attain a true demonic form through numerous rites, including the sacrifice of a trusted mortal ally. This... probably doesn't bode well for Muhlia.
Nikolai, how are you fitting in here BTW? The corridors get pretty narrow at this point...

![]() |

Jin would like to know special attacks, special defences, DR and immunities.
Jin floats forward and cautiously takes the scroll, alert for any sign of betrayal.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (6) + 25 = 31
Hmm, its written in Abyssal which isn't too surprising. It seems to be a ritual of transformation permitting a powerful mortal cultist to trasform themselves into a demon. The final stage requires the sacrifice of a trusted mortal ally...if Thurl is doing this I wonder who he has in mind for that? he asks Muhlia with one eyebrow raised.
So, what are your plans now?
Jin has +34 religion and +31 linguistics so cannot fail the check. Is Boris able to fit down here? I suspect not in which case I shall consign his bones into the lava.

![]() |

Aderyn hangs back, letting the others do the talking, and keeps an eye out for trouble; Kaze sits on his shoulder looking the other direction.

GM Chie |

Muhlia's face turns pale, and looks back to Jin-Goro. "Well, that makes my decision much easier. If he needs to have me present to complete this Transformation... I need to be anywhere but here. Perhaps a little corner of Golarian where no one has even heard of Qadira. That should give me a chance to start over. I will remember what you did for me. If you ever need a hand out of a rough spot, I'll be watching."
After scooping up one of the Backpacks from the wall, and filling a water skin from the stone pipe, Muhlia looks back to Sierra, and shrugs. "Is there anything else that you need from me, or should I be on my way?"
Fossil Golems slowly draw the moisture out of living flesh with each strike, slowing their opponents as they go. Once all the moisture is drawn out of a creature, It solidifies into a Statue, that only powerful magic can return! Deals Dexterity Damage per attack (Fort Negates) if Damage exceeds Max, as Flesh to Stone!
In addition, their Tough bones augmented by the Additional Fiend-flesh causes them do be resistant to almost any sort of Steel Bladed weapon. DR Negated ONLY by Bludgeoning Adamantine AND Good weapons (You guys brought your Holy Adamantine Warhammers, right?
Special Defenses and Immunities are more or less the same? As many golems, they are immune to most magic, but for a few exceptions:
1) A transmute rock to mud spell slows a fossil golem with no saving throw for a bit of time.
2) A stone to flesh spell negates its damage reduction and petrification ability for 1 round.
Anything that allows SR isn't going to work on this guy!

![]() |

"Your information has been incredibly helpful. We will deal with Thurl, and should you find yourself in need, you will have friends at the Grand Lodge once more." Turning to the party, she sighs. "Golems, then. I knew I should have picked up that periapt."

![]() |

Jin-Goro nods at Sierra. I wouldnt go running too far, the lava cave is dangerous and beyond that is the Labyrinth. We dont know where Thurls demonic allies are and given their ability to teleport you could run into the unexpectedly. There is at least one powerful Glabrezu out there that escaped us. I might suggest you hang around somewhere nearby and we can get you out. Maybe you could come and see Ambrus with us, try and smooth over some of those past difficulties...
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (15) + 36 = 51
Also, how do we reach Thurl?
Before we push on Jin will recast False Life and cast Greater Heroism on himself and reactivate his mirror image and heightened awareness wands.
False Life: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Images: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

![]() |

Apparently my post got eaten...let's do this again
Aderyn listens to Jin-Goro's description of Fossil Golems. "I have a spell that can make our weapons adamantine for a while, but I didn't bring anything good for smashing with, just stabbing, and I certainly don't have anything holy. Anyone else?"
GM: in case it comes up, what is your opinion on Heart of the Metal affecting natural weapons, such as an animated corpse's slam?

![]() |

KULIK has holy on his bow, 20 blunt arrows, and two adamantine weapon blanches from umpteen levels ago. Perfectly willing to share a blanch with someone else who has a bludgeoning weapon, as he can also cast align weapon.

GM Chie |

Easy enough! It sounds like we've got a Plan!
Muhlia smirks for an instant, before gesturing toward the wall. "There's a secret panel in there, and another one beyond that. The first one is a workshop, full of Toxic Fumes. Thurl's been raiding the Boxes of Bones to build those creepy Golems, but it might be worth a look to see if there's anything else good in there. As for myself... I'm a Big Girl, and can take care of myself now that I know the risks. Best of luck in there!" she adds, before clicking her heels together and disappearing in a poof of dark gray smoke.
A cursory spellcraft can identify those as Boots of Teleportation. It seems that she was a bit more prepared to Beat Feet then she initially let on. At least once she knew the Jig was Up here.

![]() |

Toxic fumes would sound bad...if we all weren't protected by life bubble. Let's press on and find Thurl
Jin heads towards the secret door and see's if he can open it. Everyone ready?

![]() |

"Yes, let's track down Thurl and put an end to this!"

Borsaget, Keeper of Taal Mornat |

"Bah! Serves the B*+(# Right. She helped the Traitorous little rock get in this place. Shoulda known he weren't to be trusted."
Trying to pull her current Bearer Let's say Bellum? toward the section that Muhlia pointed at, she continues. "Touch that little brick right there, and the door should pop right open! Watch the Squeeze though, some of you Bigger Fellers might have a bit of trouble getting through."
Any Last minute Preparations, or away we go? I would say the Big Folks could probably squeeze in the Hallways, but getting by them would be really rough. Also, the Big Bad Fight is in the Room to the Top Left, so Line up in that hallway ahead of it!

![]() |

Are we able to search the room full of Toxic Fumes? I would at least try a detect magic in there before we get to the final room. (Also Borsaget is a peach. hehe.)
