Aid Tokens:

During the event, it is possible for characters at one table to assist those at another with Aid Tokens. Each represents the assistance of allied Pathfinder agents who assist the PCs.

Once per encounter, any character at a table can use an Aid Token to assist the group in one of the ways described below. Once a table uses an Aid Token, one of the players then passes the Aid Token to a neighboring table for them to use. A table can only benefit from one token per encounter. Because there are a limited number of Aid Tokens, hoarding one means that somebody else doesn’t get to use it.

If a table receives an Aid Token and doesn’t need its benefits, they’re encouraged to boost its potency by expending some of their own resources or attempting a skill check. Boosting an Aid Token, including attempting a skill check, is part of passing that Aid Token to another table. A table can neither retry such a skill check nor boost an Aid Token more than once before passing it to another table. A table may boost a token even while in combat without taking any in-round actions; the scenario assumes the aid was granted before that encounter began. Using a boosted effect consumes the boost.

Some Aid Token benefits may only be used if already boosted by another table. An Aid Token’s benefits vary based on the table’s subtier, and these benefits can take one of the following forms:

Allied Offensive: A Pathfinder agent strikes a creature at the same time as the PC, increasing the damage dealt by one attack by 1d8 points. In addition, after the attack, anyone attacking the target is considered to be flanking it until the beginning of the attacker’s next turn. To Boost: Succeed at an attack roll against an AC equal to an Average skill check. Boosted Effect: +1d8 points of damage.

Burst of Healing: A Pathfinder agent heals all of the PCs of 1d6 points of damage. To Boost: Expend one use of channel positive energy or cast one spell with the healing descriptor with a spell level greater than or equal to your APL/2, rounded up. A PC must cast this spell, not simply activate a wand or scroll. Boosted Effect: +2d6 points of damage healed.

Timely Inspiration: A Pathfinder agent provides the effects of a bard’s inspire courage bardic performance for 3 rounds. In Subtiers 1–2 and 3–4, the competence bonus is +1. To Boost: Expend 3 rounds of bardic performance or similar ability. Boosted Effect: Increase the competence bonus by 1.

Provide Knowledge (must be boosted): Gain the benefits of a Knowledge skill check or Spellcraft skill check used to identify a magical item; the type and difficulty (Easy, Average or Hard) depend on the table granting the benefit. To Boost: Succeed at a Knowledge check of your choice, the result of the check (Easy, Average or Hard) should be noted on the Aid Token.

Provide Spellcasting (must be boosted): Gain the benefits of a beneficial spell cast by an ally as listed on the Aid Token. To Boost: Cast one of the following spells and note your PC’s name and caster level on the Aid Token: lesser restoration, neutralize poison, remove curse, or remove disease. Only these spells may be granted. Expending resources that produce the effects of these spells, such as a paladin’s mercy class feature, may also grant these benefits.

Blenta Benefit:
PCs gain a +1 on attack and damage rolls against animals and magical beasts for the rest of the adventure.

Borbus Benefit:
Before attempting a Bluff, Escape Artist, Perform, or Sleight of Hand check during this adventure, a PC can decide to roll twice and take the higher result. Each PC can use this benefit once before the end of the adventure.

Bukog Benefit:
Each PC gains a +5 bonus on any Day Job checks performed at the end of this adventure.

Gekgaro Benefit:
Each PC gains the Nimble Moves feat until the end of the adventure.

Graffa Benefit:
Each PC chooses either the Acrobatic or Athletic feat and gains it for the rest of the adventure.

Kardook Benefit:
Each PC can use Martial Flexibility as a 1st-level brawler once before the end of the adventure; if a PC already has the martial flexibility class feature, she gains 1 additional use per day for the rest of the adventure.

Mirtgog Benefit:
At the start of an encounter, each PC can choose to gain the Precise Strike feat for the duration of the encounter. Each PC can use this benefit once before the end of the adventure.

"Impossible...Ice Tooth...strongest..." he gasps before he slumps over.

Though the orcish vanguard has been taken care of, the assault on the caravan still rages! Now it's a matter of priority - protect the caravan, take out the archers, or take the fight directly to the orcish leadership?

Feeling emboldened by what was a surprisingly easy victory over the orcish vanguard, you all find yourselves in unanimous agreement to bring the battle to the ambush ringleaders. After a quick conference with one of the Twinhorn scouts, the party makes its way through mayhem and towards another set of ruins where your quarry awaits. You climb into the foothills until you spot the stony remains of a ruined edifice, an excellent place to shelter from the hot winds - and plan an ambush. Whether they saw the group approaching or were expecting someone to be brave (or foolish?) enough to challenge them directly, a large, brawny and scarred specimen of an orc stands waiting. An ogre stands to each side of him, grinning wickedly as they thump enormous greatclubs against the ground.

"I've been waiting for strong opponents," the orc greets you with a toothy smile. "Your deaths will give me honor among the Black Suns!"

Anticipating some charges coming, Marcus decides to soften up one of the ogres before the main battle is engaged. yellow

I'll be camping with the kids at a cub scout campout today through tomorrow morning. Marcus will try to not maneuver outside of 5' steps. (He gets +4 to hit if he can use his move action aiming.) He takes 1 shot a round. Only things that should change things is +1 hit/dmg from PBS if they get within 30', any buffs that go up, and possibly no cover depending on how the battlefield sets up. I've assumed cover for these rolls in the spoiler that I'm providing for bot/forward purposes. Doubt we get through 3 turns, but its here just in case.

While no one seems to know anything in particular about the orc leading this ambush, both Katswiri and Marcus know a few things about ogres. Katswiri knows that ogres are quite tough, tougher than most of the orcs the party has encountered so far (BAB +3, CMB +9, CMD 18), while Marcus knows that they're hardy and perhaps even a bit more strong-willed than one might expect (Iron Will, Toughness).

And armed with that knowledge, Marcus decides it might be prudent to soften one of them up a bit. He sends an arrow speeding into Yellow Ogre's shoulder, who howls with pain and anger!

Though Scritch has the right idea to try and angle around for the shot, Blue Ogre proves a little bit harder to hit than he might've expected for such a large creature.

With first blood having gone to their stupid pinkskin prey both ogres raise their clubs in challenge and lumber forward, ready for some payback! Yellow Ogre lumbers forward towards Dekion and the rest of the party, while Blue Ogre sets his sights on the strange little snake-creature that dared to try shooting at him.

Once it is high over his head, Arbiscar sets a foot to the front, then another and starts getting speed and momentum as he charges over "For the Society and AbadAAAaaaaaar!"

In a descending movement of his earthbreaker he tries to stomp the ogre's foot while avoiding the ogre's long reach.

"Ay! Leader! An enemy mage tricks your ranks! Look on your right, it a big pile of poo that is attacking you!" he shouts.

Katswiri moves closer to the melee, opting to take a more cautious approach despite the group showing their ability to hold their own quite nicely. LeepoBot also moves forward and fires a shot from her crossbow, deciding for the moment that her bombs are too precious to waste on the likes of mere ogres...

Finding their stride, the group set about on a sort of divide-and-conquer strategy: Katswiri and Leepo focusing on Blue Ogre while Esh and Arbiscar go for the orc leader! Though Katswiri's mace strike misses the ogre Leepo's bomb throw is more accurate, splashing against his arm with a sickening sizzle of flesh.

While Esh has little luck in striking the Red Leader, Arbiscar once again wields his earthbreaker to devastating effect - swinging it around in an arc and shattering the orc's skull in a gory explosion of blood, brain, and bone!

Well, that was violent O.o

And though it doesn't quite finish the ogre off, Marcus' shot does come close. The Blue Ogre puts up quite the fight but the group's combined might is no match for him and you finally finish him off for good.

With the vanguard and leaders both defeated, you feel as if you've struck a decisive blow against the orcish onslaught. However, there are still some loose ends that might need tying up before you all can rest easy!

I know we're pushing it a bit close but you still have the option of tackling the archers or protecting the caravan if the party likes!

With a bow, I'm probably good for either. I think a caravan probably fits most of our party more than chasing ranged people though.

I'm not sure what the above post means, but I vote caravan if still applicable. With a +1 will save, I could use the cloak if no one minds. Maybe the potion of CMW too in case I'm in melee and really need healing.

Hoping that some of the more mobile groups will take care of the remaining archers, you all divvy up your spoils and hustle back down from the foothills and towards the supply wagons of the caravan. The most vulnerable part of the caravan travels near the base of a cliff where the sounds of ever-louder chanting echo from a shadowy cave. You arrive and set up position, waiting for the attack that is sure to come...and then you hear it.

"bIQ Suq! 'eymo' Hoch nIH!"

The cry comes from inside the cave and you see a couple of orcs appear from the north, heading directly for the caravan. Further back on the hill, you can see - to your surprise - a human readying his longbow as the orcs surge forward.

Orc:

"Get the water! Steal all their food!"

Right now you can see Purple, Orange, and Blue. You technically can't see Red from your current positions but you can hear him so you know that *something* is there inside the cave. I tried to guesstimate roughly where everyone would position themselves around the wagons. And on a final note, you may attempt to climb up those hillsides with a DC 10 Climb check instead of taking the long way around!

Similar to the warriors you faced earlier when assaulting the vanguard, Marcus recognizes the oncoming raiders as being focused falchion-fighters. Must be an orcish thing? (Weapon Focus: Falchion).

He then steps forward and shows the opposing archer a fine demonstration of his own skills, planting an arrow right between his eyes! The brigand utters a pained gurgle and collapses to the ground.
