The rune is the mark of King Gutheran's family line and is the basis for the modern dwarven run for "royalty" or "king's blood"
The group heads back to the entrance, when they see a group of people blocking the way. There is man, apparently a guard, some sort of white bear, a woman, and a creature that is apparently completely made of ice.
The woman says in a strong voice, "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

Davorin picks up the clasp as they start heading out and says to nobody in particular, "We at least have some evidence that this was the Dwarven clan leader. Sounds like betrayal was at and but at least one got away, but we should deliver this."
As they turn the corner and see the party standing in their way he looks over his shoulder at Uliyara and says simply, "Friends of yours?"
He looks at the creature and tries to get a grasp of what kind of creature he is looking at.

They can walk through or on ice without any trouble, as if it was normal terrain. They are also vulnerable to fire.
The woman does have a familial resemblance to Uliyara. "You are in the presense of Jadwiga Kiryena, niece of Baroness Nadya. I order you to lay down your arms and surrender yourselves and Jadwiga Uliyara to me."

Davorin looks at the woman quite obviously full of exasperation at being stopped yet again, and at the general lack of an exciting find in the Dwarven Hold.
"Didn't we already say no once to that request? Did you not get the memo? It's outside painted in blood in the snow if you need to double-check. We can wait."

"ah so you two are cousins great!"
Lya will take an extended look at Uliyara while speaking.
Lya will look accusingly at her ally. "That was truly uncalled for. This lovely lady is family to our friend. Clearly she is not in league with that winter wolf creature who was ever so rude."
She turns back to Kiryena "I am afraid you will be disappointed in our answer. We have the baroness's personal blessing to be here, and surely you would not want us to spit upon her gracious permission by not returning her daughter to her"

Davorin, clearly having done the math in his head, speaks quietly to Lya "Kiryena here is the niece of Baronness Nadya. Uliyra is the niece of Baronness Urgalaena from the town of Saarbotten. You can have only so many nieces and aunts. You remember the town of Saarbotten, right?"
Davorin tightens the grip on his sword further.

Uliyara steps over to Davorin, tapping him on the shoulder. "While it is true that I am the niece of Baroness Urgalaena, I am also the daughter of Baroness Nadya. The two are truly not mutually exclusive. You did mention that 'Haltani' says hello, when you spoke to her, did you not?"
Kiryena speaks up, also looking directly at Davorin. "Outside, it is apparent that you know little of our lands. We are both nieces of Baroness Urgaleana! I was sent to make sure that the b@~*~ from Saarbotten did not try to kidnap Baroness Nadya's daughter! Now, stand down, or face the Wrath of Winter!"

Quizzically observes the family drama, desiring greatly not to care. But. Peril prevails. Ready for a fight should it come to that but not interested in delivering the first blow.
“Clearly we are not attempting to kidnap Baroness Nadya’s daughter, nor are we in league with those who may wish to do so. I see no reason you should be hostile with us if this is, indeed, your mission. Uliyara is safe and well traveling with us. How about you leave us out of your family drama and let us be on our way. Travel with us if you truly wish to ensure Uliyara’s safety. Either way, we have a mission to attend to, and must be on our way.” Begins stepping away, well aware this may trigger combat. And if it does, a valuable bit of information will be gained. Kiryena would only attack if, either she doesn’t believe me, or she is not actually all that concerned with Uliyara’s safety.

Kiryena relaxes and calls off the ice bear and elemental as Davorin stands down. "My apologies, cousin, we assumed the worst when we saw the winter wolf outside. If you trust these outsiders, then we have no quarrel with them."
"I do, Kiryena. They have handled themselves most honorably. In fact," she says, turning back to the Pathfinders, "I find myself interested in joining their Pathfinder Society. Would that be something that you all could help arrange?"
Kiryena gets a scowl on her face, but says nothing....

She turns quickly to Prizm. She reaches under her cloak, and removes the necklace she has been wearing. "I would like you to have this, Prizm. While I don't know what you need this for, I expect it will be for something amazing. Keep trying, and protect that wonder of a bird of yours. His humor is quite remarkable!"

Davorin looks a little sheepish, "I apologize for assuming the worst, but after the first ambush I wasn't willing to let an attempt on Uliyara succeed a second time."
He turns to Uliyara at the word 'Pathfinder'. "I think all of us would be willing to sponsor your involvement in the Society if you feel that you would be happy there. You handle yourself well and honorably. Do not expect an easy path though, we've all had to work quite hard for this honor, as will you."

"Thank you, Pathfinders." says Uliyara. "It means a lot to me that you would be willing to sponsor me... especially given how my people have not always treated yours with respect. Perhaps there will be a day, soon, where the Jadwiga will open trade with your people. We certainly need it." Kiryena scowls even more at this.
The journey from Dalun to Kalsgard proceeds without incident. Once the Pathfinders return to the Grinning Pixie, Venture-Captain Benarry is able to translate the dwarven journal, if needed. While she initially expresses disappointment that the PCs did not recover a piece of the Sky Key, her chagrin quickly turns to excitement as she reads through Vargrim’s journal.
Venture-Captain Benarry’s face breaks into a wide smirk, and she laughs heartily. “To think, Naldak’s piece of the Sky Key has been in the Hao Jin tapestry all along! Well, easy enough. I’ll just have to have a chat with the Master of Spells about sending a group of agents in to pick it up. The tapestry is vast, and we never would have known where to look it weren’t for you. To top that off, studying the section of Naldak’s Point that Hao Jin’s magic narrowly missed ripping out of Golarion could teach us more about the tapestry itself. Well done, Pathfinders!”

As Logg boards the vessel to sail home he's feeling pretty good about himself, he explored, he cooperated, he did that other thing... wait what was the other thing. He is abruptly reminded as Venture-Captain Calisro Benarry extends her hand and waits.
"Ahh, my report? I would have, I mean I was writing and the ah, the ink froze, yeah it's really cold up there, that was, er would have been in the report. There was so much, that I will report when we get back to warmer weather. Let's see... wolves are not to be trusted, women are not to be trusted, well I mean not you of course, not that your not a women, not that I don't think of you as a woman, not that I think of you as a woman, ahh....
Dodo's are not to be trusted. It appears one has infiltrated the society and has some form of control over the gnome that goes by Prizm. I have no idea what his name was before the damned bird got to him.
There is so much more, but I will save that for the written report. Let me just add that if I were to rate your service as a Venture-Captain, I would give you five stars."
