Grax will buy a cloak of resistance +1 (1,000 gp) and a potion of lesser restoration (300 gp), both from his Chronicle of Master of the Fallen Fortress. I can PM you a link to the chronicle if you'd like, Aarvid. :)

He'll also purchase 9 bullets (9 sp) and 9 doses of black powder (9 gp), and 5 paper alchemical cartridges (60 gp). The prices of the first two are modified by Gunsmithing, the last is not.

Can we make another Day Job roll? If so:

I have carried the alchemist fire as replacement for the one I chucked at the swarm. I took the silken rope, so I assume the grappling hook as well. The tokens, I had apparently glossed over when they were first mentioned, but I think it's safe to assume Yndra to them for further study. Same goes for the potion, unless someone else wants that one?

I left the bow and sleep arrows, because I can't use those. They might come in handy now, though. Shoot an archer off the bridge and watch it feel down when asleep. Can anyone use a longbow?

Edit, to discuss the current situation: Those were some seriously nasty rolls. Did you intentionally forget to confirm the crit on Yndra?
Grax, what's your plan with retreating? We can't all take cover behind the tree, as was shown in the first round. I can't really help in ranged combat, as well. My best bet would be to stay below the drawbridge, and take out the stuff on the ground first.

Grax's items look correct. I agree that the tokens were probably going to be held by Yndra (and she definitely had the alchemist's fire). Other items I'm not sure we specified...as the resident climber, it'd make some sense for Grax to take the rope and grapple, but I'm not sure he did. Unless they were with the same person that had a climbing kit, he took one of those off a corpse at some point.

As to strategy...on the first round they attacked me and Thaia, and I think that I at least had moved myself out from cover to try to spot what was going on. I'm just assuming that if we can all get north of the tree they'll have to at least come around to shoot at us, and the ones above may (?) have to descend. (can they shoot straight down from that platform thing? Or would we have cover?)

I also thought things were slightly more desperate with Thaia's hit points than they actually are, so this isn't quite as urgent, I guess. Still not good, though. :P

OK, in that case I'll probably move adjacent to the archer on the ground, and ready an action to follow him around. Will mean he draws an AoO of he wants to shoot, and gives me some decent protection from the archer above, since I'll be on melee. What do you think? Good plan, or suicide?

As far as I know, GD4 finishes tomorrow.
We can try to wrap tomorrow (which would be good and we get a chance for boons) or we continue without rushing. Hopefully we can get one more round in.

For part-3 (after GD4), I suspect we want to recruit another player or two to replace Majal. I think your current party will have major problems in the combats without help.

Finally, I will be driving my family to Florida on Monday, so I will have some short posts. If we wrap tomorrow, I can try to get chronicles out before I leave.

Otherwise I will not have them until after new years most likely (no scanner on the road). Since (I think) you all wanted to continue to part 3 with me that should not be a problem. I can can give details so you can calculate purchases/level etc.

I don't know of anyone currently looking for a game (particularly part tree of a three-part game). If you like I have a 2nd level melee fighter who I could replace Thaia with if folks think that would help. Thaia herself won't level until the end of part three.

Got the chronicle, looks good. Yndra doesn't have a day job, I'll cross that off. I'll also cross off the subtier 4-5 rewards, I guess you may have forgotten about those.

I'll update Yndra's stats to level 2 tonight. I'd rather play her than any other of my characters for the third scenario, because of the dwarven connection. With so many possible players on these forums, I'm hoping we'll be able to get one or two more in the PFS recruitment thread, so none of us will have to switch.

Last question: are there limits to the sort of equipment we can buy before the third part?

Edit, because I forgot: I like the way you resolved the last combat. It felt fitting.

I've finished leveling Yndra to level 2. I also picked up the Iconoclast archetype, while I could still rebuild at level 1. It seemed fitting for the direction I'd be taking her.

Will do some final shopping, when I know what's possible.

Grax is leveling up to 3...and I'm debating taking a level of barbarian, which would increase his front-line viability slightly. Any thoughts? (I'd grab the Urban Barbarian archetype so that his rage could boost DEX.)

Also: can anyone explain the second part of the grippli boon to me? Does it do anything, or do you need a second "part" (ie. a boon from another scenario) to actually create a character with "grippli options?"

G'Day all, thanks for the invite.

I have a grippli boon from GenCon whose back story ties in nicely with part 2. I haven't played her/him yet, but have built a magus and a druid HALO troop (GI Joe's Ripcord, not the video game). I also have a second level triceratops shaman.

I don't know if you have any holes that need filling, but I can run the grippli as any class (so long as Aspis can be preyed upon :)

Preferences? Choices? Suggestions?
