GM:
Not to be a stickler or anything, but it seems to me that the vial wouldn't land where you said.
The rules wrote:
If you miss the target (whether aiming at a creature or a grid intersection), roll 1d8. This determines the misdirection of the throw, with 1 falling short (off-target in a straight line toward the thrower), and 2 through 8 rotating around the target creature or grid intersection in a clockwise direction. Then, count a number of squares in the indicated direction equal to the range increment of the throw. After you determine where the weapon landed, it deals splash damage to all creatures in that square and in all adjacent squares.

So, a 1 would have ended up falling short (NW of Holman), and rotating clockwise from there (because you rolled an 8) would end up W of Holman. Then, it's 30' from the alchemist to Holman, and bombs have a range increment of 20', so it's in the 2nd increment, thus should end up 2 squares away from Holman. I'm not 100% sure on the two squares thing - it might just be 1 square, but that would mean that if it misses from less than 20' away, it would always be 0 squares away, which wouldn't make much sense.

Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 So I take 8 damage from the splash? Am I reading that right?

Grand Lodge

Human Male Swashbuckler (3) HPs 31/31, AC 19, FF 15, T 14, CMD 17, Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2, Init +5, Per +7

Splash damage in this case is 5 save for half

the d8 roll was to see where the splash damage landed for the miss

Alchy splash damage stuff:
Splash damage from an alchemist bomb is always equal to the bomb's minimum damage (so if the bomb would deal 2d6+4 points of fire damage on a direct hit, its splash damage would be 6 points of fire damage). Those caught in the splash damage can attempt a Reflex save for half damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the alchemist's level + the alchemist's Intelligence modifier.

Also - with the appearence of all the new threats, Kath will be attempting a parry if he is attacked. No holding back on his panche. Kath will defeat them with his coolness!

Parry if attacked: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Riposte if Parry is successful - PA: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 - 1 = 25

Likewise, Bo'alo moves up, and another man was hiding around the corner.
swrd: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 for dmg: 1d6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (2) = 7, but misses, only to be slashed by the gunslinger's blade.

August's blow hits the woman hard, and she cries in pain but does not drop.

The woman screams at August as she steps back and throws another bomb his way.

"I will burn you, dwarf, beard and all!"

But it lands short again, right between August and her bodyguard, splashing all 3 of them (reflex), burning both of them and she drops by her own hand (or claw as it were).

There are two trap doors, and they lead to the guild's training room and sleeping quarters.

You explain your findings and the overwhelming evidence against the thieves guild. Even the claws used by Robella in her feral alchemist state to simulate the sphinx attacks.

"Great work, I must say. You have done our town a great service. With the villains utterly defeated, the Umbra Carnival is completely exonerated. The crowds can return to the carnival. " .
The sheriff sends a constable immediately to release Amara and lift the quarantine.

In the days and weeks that follow, the town seeks a replacement for the kindhearted Sister Woodmere, as well as guardians for the Braeton children. Chelaxians and Varisians set aside their differences in an annual memorial to the victims. A greater understanding is reached, and the community grows even stronger.

The townsfolk and circus offer rewards for all of their returned stolen goods and reputation.

The Gearwright Brothers offer you lucrative work acting as security for their trip back through Varisia, back to Absalom where your chase for slavers started. You return from the deadend on that mission but heroes nonetheless for saving the circus. Potentially more enticing is a personal invitation from Ika and Almara Delisen to join the Umbra Carnival and travel all across Avistan as part of a new family—and the start of a unique campaign.
