Axe 'Axe' Axe
Axe simply grunts as he swings his blade wildly, trying to hit the now sparkly bogeyman.
5' step over and up to get over the difficult terrain; since Axe has a fly speed, shouldn't be a problem :)
Axe: 1d20 + 13 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 13 - 2 + 1 = 17
Damage on hit: 3d6 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4, 5) + 10 + 3 = 24
Haste Axe: 1d20 + 13 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 13 - 2 + 1 = 32
Damage on hit: 3d6 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (4, 5, 3) + 10 + 3 = 25
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 13 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 13 - 2 + 1 = 31
Extra damage on crit: 6d6 + 20 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 4, 3, 3) + 20 + 6 = 47
Axe: 1d20 + 8 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 - 2 + 1 = 23
Damage on hit: 3d6 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1, 3) + 10 + 3 = 21
That may leave a mark.
GM Dinuci
I won't count that as difficult terrain. It's a slope, that's all. And yes... That sure did leave a mark!
Axe swings and hits the bogeyman. The man looks down in terror at a huge gash across his stomach.
Combat round 3:
- Bogeyman 5/6 rounds glittery [-38hp]
- Almalik [51/44hp & PfE]
- Nagbur [37/38hp]
- Axe (DR) [+15THP]
- Idris [60/68hp]
- Fish [+15THP]
- Ama [+15THP]
In bold may act!
Everyone except Nagbur is shaken.
Fish Silverscale
Fish steps back into a flank and attacks with both his claws.
Melee: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Melee: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 18
He exhales a frosty breath from his nostrils that chills the air enough to look like he is exhaling smoke.
GM Dinuci
Fish his first hit connects but leaves no mark on the man.
The bogeyman makes a bowing motion and walks away from you.
"I have seen enough for today! I will see you, later."
With a laugh he quickly moves through the forest away from you.
Combat over!
Do you want to follow him? He looks wounded but not gravely. He moved 120 feet.
Ama
Ama's usually not in favor of letting those who attacked her walk off, but her shaken state keeps her from chasing.
"He's a meanie and a creep, I'm not following him into the bushes or his van..."
Nagbur Damnstink
The vitalist harrumphs and folds his arms, but remains planted where he is. "Nagbur do whatever everybodys want. Where went stupid coward leprechaun anyways!"
Unless we're going to give chase, Stinky will refill at 1 HP/6 seconds, redirect to other party members, etc. I can work through the healing numbers if y'all want, but unless the GM flings something else at us immediately, I think we can assume we'll all be topped off by the next encounter.
Almalik Fezana
Almalik doubles over, clutching his stomach and groaning as Nagbur sends healing magic to him.
"That... bastard. We'll be ready for him another time. I have no intention of continuing that combat."
GM Dinuci
Sorry Fish! Totally forgot to put the DR thingy behind your name... You may use it in another battle!
Numbers aren't necessary, I'll assume you have full hp for next combat.
From among the trees green appears again.
"Hij is weg?"
Once he sees that it is safe he joins the group.
"Dat ding is door en door slecht! Zoals ik al eerder zei, we worden aangevallen. Niet de bogeyman, iets veel groters van een andere vlakte. De Fey wereld ligt onder vuur en jullie moeten ons helpen!"
The little leprechaun looks really sad and tired.
"Er is een dorp een stuk verder door het bos. Jullie kunnen daar uitrusten voor de nacht, als jullie dat willen. Daarna zal ik jullie naar onze koning brengen."
He waits to see how you respond before heading off again.
"He is gone?"
"That thing is pure evil! As I said before, we are under attack. Not only by the bogeyman but by something much bigger from another plane. The Fey world is under siege and you must help us!"
"There is a village a through the forest a little way off. You can rest for the night in the village, if you wish. After that I will bring you to our king."
Axe 'Axe' Axe
Axe tries to look sad when the bad guy is gone, but secretly, he is relieved as his fear slowly fades. "Axe.", he pouts.
"I didn't get to finish."
Ama
Ama ignores the fact the others don't understand Sylvan and replies, "Wat mij betreft gaan we gelijk. Weet je koning dat ik koningin ben van m'n eigen bos?"
Almalik Fezana
Almalik sighs, translating the disgusting language for more civilized ears.
"Ama is pretending she's a Queen. There is some evil being which is attacking the Fey World. We're being asked to kill it- after that point, we will be brought to their King. I believe we are up to the task - if properly armed, and with some decent weapons of cold iron. The latter may be hard to secure in the fey world. Of course, I will let their representative know we do not work for free."
Almalik turns to the others, speaking in his halting Sylvan.
"Hoeveel gaat u ons betalen?"
"How much will you pay us?"
GM Dinuci
The leprechaun's eyes widen, seeing not everyone speaks Sylvan he switches back to Common again.
"You want to take it on? You just barely managed a bogeyman!"
He responds to Almalik.
"The king needs the evil minions to be taken care off. He will fight the great evil, but cannot stand against it if he is distracted."
Green looks horrified at Almalik as he asks for payment.
"You ask us for payment? I helped you before! I gave you the coin to summon me in time of need. Innocent fey are being slaughtered!"
He looks at Ama, sure she would understand.
Ama
Ama slaps the back of Almalik's head. "Bad Alma! Bad!"
She nods at the leprechaun. "As the goddess queen of my own realm I fully understand the weight that rests on your king's shoulder, sir leprechaun. I will assist this kingdom with the help of these proud men."
Ama draws her nodachi and, holding it with one hand, points the tip at the sky. She gives the others an expectant look, obviously wanting them to join in. "One for all..."
Even if no one joins her, Ama finishes by loudly declaring, "...AND ALL FOR ONE!"
GM Dinuci
The leprechaun visibly sighs, a weight lifting from his shoulders. He nods and continues on the path you were following earlier.
"They be advancing fast. The king must be worried, we must move with haste!"
As he keeps a half running half walking pace through the forest he keeps talking.
"Them evil things come from a portal. Till now only the weakest attack. The bogeyman... He be a formidable foe, nothing like weaklings. The master of death be coming soon..."
You may ask any question! Last game you missed out on some important stuff so I'll give you a moment of breathing space here to ask away.
Idris Elbow
"Wait, you brought us here to help defend a portal from attackers, while your king handles the main enemy? I'm pretty sure that by any definition that makes us mercenaries. And mercenaries get paid! And why is this "great evil" attacking, and who is it? "
Fish Silverscale
Fish leans over to whisper to Nagbur, "Look like we get volunteer again." He perks up when the Leprechaun says something abou the master of death. "Uhhhh what you mean by master of death?"
GM Dinuci
Green's eyes fill with fear as Idris talks about pay again.
"We have nothing to offer you! Our world lies in ruin!"
He says with a half shriek.
"The name itself says enough, why would the master of death not attack?"
Fish suddenly cuts off Idris.
"The master of death is... he is terrifying."
Green stammers.
"A creature, a spellcaster. It is said that the master of death slings a spell with each stride he takes, devastating everything and everyone around him."
The little man falls silent for a moment.
"Me think our king and the master of death are about equal power. If the king is distracted he might get killed and our world will fall in the death master's hands. I think the king knows more about it than I do."
Ama
Ama looks disappointed no one joined her when she raised her weapon. She sheaths it and quickly follows Green.
"Maybe your king could let Nagbur make a temporary link with him, so Nagbur can provide healing from a distance? It could give him an edge in the fight with the master of death, especially if the healing is channeled through me first."
Nagbur Damnstink
Nagbur shrugs back at Fish. "If Fish say. This no make sense same like last time stupid leper Khan mess with us."
He blinks up at Ama when she makes her suggestion, "Who you be and what you did with Ama?" Then he shrugs again. "Nagbur been practicing, brain bigger now. Me gots room for all us and more. But is bad enough for to keep us going, how you think Nagbur keep even more healthy?"
GM Dinuci
Green shrugs as he doesn't understand what Ama and Nagbur are talking about.
"More questions, or you want to continue?"
Fish Silverscale
"So you want us fight others while King fight Master of death?" Fish asks to recap what was told to him. "What kind others you want Fish fight?"
GM Dinuci
"They be terrifying creatures..."
Green says in a solemn voice.
"Bogeyman is one of em, same as Skin stealers, Spring heeled jacks and spriggans. Oh and Baobhan Sith's, them also. Bad folk them. But I dunno what will come through to you. Never sure."
Almalik Fezana
Almalik frowns as he listens to the problems with the fey and the evil creatures that plague them.
"Fine, I agree. And although it is an anathema to your kind, we should very seriously consider weapons of cold iron if we are to do battle with such evil fey."
Is there any way we could get some cold iron?
Nagbur Damnstink
"Fine, I agree. And although it is an anathema to your kind, we should very seriously consider weapons of cold iron if we are to do battle with such evil fey."
Nagbur looks up at his spear point, then clears his throat. "Me got this," he says, waggling the spear side to side.
His most effective weapon (both melee and ranged), and it's masterwork cold iron. But he knows he's not built for fighting, so he'll give it up if someone else can use it.
GM Dinuci
"Villagers been working en weapons. King say no way to close gate once open. Bad part be it already be open..."
Green answers.
"Let us go to the village, you got your answers?"
You may roll appropriate knowledge skill checks to identify the creatures mentioned above.
Nagbur Damnstink
Nagbur tilts his head at Green. "Why for gate no can be closed?"
To Almalik he says, "Maybe better answer than fight is block gate?"
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Dinuci
"Gate be large archway with portal in it, same as you came through. How you close portal that be over 100 feet high?"
Green says to answer Nagbur's question.
Nagbur Damnstink
Ama
"Yeah, yeah," Ama says a bit impatiently, eager to get on with it.
No question from me, I'm ready to move on.
GM Dinuci
Yeah... That is something they should've thought of ;P
I'll update tomorrow, very busy (birth)day. It'll be somewhat later tomorrow also, a colleague is getting married in the morning :)
Nagbur Damnstink
Happy Birthday to you, and congratulations or condolences as appropriate to your colleague. :o)

Thanks!
Green turns around and turns the group around a corner, back on the path to the village. After a good 15 minute walk Green cries out.
”No! Nonono!”
The leprechaun runs forward towards some trees. Looking closer at what he looked at you see several wooden huts built into the trees. Several small critters and leprechauns lay in pools of blood littered across the ground.
”Noooooo! What happened?!”
The leprechauns face contorts in rage and pain.
”He will pay! You!”
With the last words he glares at you angrily.
”Follow me!”
As you cross the last distance to the village you now not only notice the pools of blood but also that the bodies have been stripped from their skin.
There are two tree houses which you can choose, you could also talk reason to Green and convince him to move on and come back later. Inside one of these buildings the cold iron tools are made.
Ama
"Yeah! He will pay!" Ama yells.
"Who though?! Who are we going to beat up?! He has to pay!"
GM Dinuci
Green answers angrily.
"The master of death of course!"
He keeps moving in the general direction of the two buildings, muttering curses and the like.
Almalik Fezana
Almalik looks at the grisly scene with a certain amount of fascination.
"The strange dark rituals of these people..." He blinks, glancing up.
"Right, so I suppose we simply choose one building or another. A moment."
Almalik flicks a hand, a wand appearing out of his quiver, he enchants himself.
"Would one of you large, muscled types like to try door number one?"
Protection from evil. Available to anyone else who wants it from the wand.
GM Dinuci
Will update tomorrow! Busy preparing to defend my thesis and in the process totally forgot to post here...
GM Dinuci
Pfff, yea like I would want to do that... ;P As of today I am officially an engineer!
You make your way to the first tree and start climbing the rope ladder hanging down from the lower platform. You find yourself in a type of hallway. As you are climbing the sound of someone screaming becomes louder and louder.
The room looks simple and there is no furniture inside it except for a few simple pegs for coats and the like. Several pairs of small leather boots lay beneath the pegs.
Almalik Fezana
Congrats!
Almalik wipe some sweat from his brow, and quickly casts a detect magic spell. He allows the frontliners to go ahead of them, quickly tapping them in turn with protection from evil spells as they reach the top floor.
Protection from evil on Idris, Axe, and Ama.
