Windel casts Detect Magic,

Windel:
And instantly he detects a cool yellow aura surrounding the weapon. Now I’m going to be a cruel DM right here, okay. Since you didn’t specifically express that you wanted to be patient about what you learned from the Spell, and announced you were touching the weapon, I’m springing this on you. The weapon is not cursed, but it is intelligent, petty, and controlling. It is not powerful enough to speak to you, but as soon as you touch it your mind is filled with delightful thoughts of ownership, pride in the weapon, and confidence. It conveys upon you it’s nature, I’ll send this to you in a PM so we can keep it a secret.

and picks up the weapon to examine it.

His eyes grow wide in excitement as a child with a new toy, and as if he already understands its purpose, Windel separates the weapon into two pieces. The lower handle pulls away revealing a slim, milky white colored dagger made from something that resembles bone. It appears almost too delicate for practical use, and looks ceremonial in nature. Then with a gleeful chuckle, Windel turns and tosses the axe, now heavy at the head, away from him. The axe spins through the air, and cackles with yellow light. It comes to a stop in mid air just a few feet away from Windel, and returns to his hand in a blur.

Hal hadn't said much for the last few minutes, but he hadn't been idle. As soon as the bugbear had started going on about the dead coming back to life, Hal had started collecting heads and tossing them one by one into the fire. The nuances of goblin politics and nobility were beyond him, but the gristly work of laying the dead permanently to rest, that he knew, and went about with stoic single-mindedness.

Miagnik blinked when Mazrim said the word Sister.

For some reason, even as she and Stephanie had spoken, it hadn't registered to him who it was they had just rescued.

He spun and pointed, surprise evident on his face. "Melodak!? Melodak the Terrible of the Fox-Spider Clan of Central Balor! You'd been gone so long... Many thought you'd died!!" A wicked grin spread across Miagnik's face. "But no. You are alive, a hero among our people and now we have you free again... Heh heh ha ha, now we are so much stronger."

Windel is fixated on the weapon he has procured. Snapping out of it momentarily, "S...s...sure Maz, I...I...I'll heal allies, not the enemy," He glances over at the bugbear. He possessively shifts the axe to one of his hand then he motions for the pup to be brought forward.

He begins to remove a splinter from a tender paw and he puts a little salve on an open wound, while Maz holds him offering comfort.

Day 7, Late Morning, 4/57 (Current Turn/Turn of the Clock)

As Hallister goes about the grisly task of beheading any of the already dead Goblins, he discovers that the Goblin that fell by the secret door (the Goblin Cleric) and two other Goblins burned by the flame of the webs and Miagnik's spells, are barely alive.

The Bugbear removes his chainmail armor, and leaves his shield and weapon behind, as he and the few surviving Goblins leave the room under Atharessa and Moralane's watchful eyes.

What is left behind are suits of leather armor, and suits of "Half-Chain" (a pieced together suit of armor made from mostly leather components with a few patches of Chain mail on the chest and back), as well as several small knives, four small morning stars, three small spears, and the medium sized gear of the Bugbear.

You find no coins on the bodies (apparently the Bugbear was telling some truth about the state of pay for the Goblins). But the Table where some kind of game was being played with clay tiles has thirty eight silver pieces, and ninety two copper pieces on it left (After the escaped Goblin had already scooped some of the coins up, remember?)

The Dog responds well to Mazrim and Windel as they feed and care for the animal.

Mazrim, do you have any questions about this animal? Let's treat it as a Dog with limited, 30', dark vision. When the party is ready to move on, and you have finished stating the animal, let's say it is still suffering 2 hit points of "non lethal" damage, that will go away in a few hours, but is otherwise ready to fight at your command.

The "Half-Chain" armor is small sized, light armor with the following statistics, +3 Armor Bonus, +6 Max Dex Bonus, -1 check penalty, 15% arcane spell failure, 30' speed, weight 15 lbs

The secret door indicated by Melodak is in the south wall of the cage room.

Rownig triggers the stone that opens the secret door, and Melodak, being impatient, forces her way through the opening before the door has completely cleared the wall.

Beyond the door is a small space, only 10 foot by 10 foot in dimensions, and the floor and walls have an unfinished look to them (perhaps this is a more recent addition to the layout). On the south wall hand several lengths of heavy rope, and a few short lengths of chain, otherwise the room is empty.

The Dog with Mazrim begins to whine, quietly.

So did we just leave the unconscious goblins behind then? That's a little dark, even for Hal, given what we've learned from the Bugbear.

Did Windle's last Channel hit the survivors?

Before they'd left, Hal had done his best to make sure the wounded wouldn't die, but keeping things alive was a whole lot different than keeping things dead.

He had set the bugbear to caring for them, telling the big furry fellow what to do if they didn't make it.

Not knowing what else to do, he followed the others, sticking close to the front of the group near Rownig.

I totally get that, Windel. If the Goblins, regardless of how some Goblins have presented themselves as pawns in this struggle, are opposed to the rule of the Dwarven King, and Windel sees them as revolutionaries with an illigitimate claim, then I can see that he would not heal them.

Mazrim cannot tell what it is that is making the dog whine, but the animal seems reluctant to go in the direction that everyone is headed.

When the secret door is opened, a short narrow hall extends to the east, and then opens into a room that extends toward the north. Melodak and Rownig creep forward when they hear a soft, non threatening kind of “munching” sound coming from around the corner. When the two of them peer around the corner, to the north, a strange creature is seen standing at the far end of the room.

It, at first, appears to be a large pig, or some other domestic animal, but no, not at all, as it turns in place you can see that it is almost insect like, with spindly legs and a fat armored body. It has a long prehensile tail that ends in two “fins”. Its head is a cross between a lobster (common in the waters north of the island) and a goat. On top of its head are two long antennae that end in feathery appendages.
The creature has its head down near the floor and appears to be “eating” a pile of silver and copper coins.

The room is 10’ wide from east to west, and 25’ deep from south to north, you have entered in the southern most section of the west wall and after a 5’ “entrance way” the room opens toward the north, I’ll try to update the map tonight
