Hallister 12
Goblins 8
Miagnik 8
Mazrim 8
Windel 2
Day 1, Turn 4, Round 5 (Initiative count 16 to 8)
Moralane and Rownig thrust and jab with their weapons but the small goblins prove to be elusive and agile, even though they are wounded.
With all of the Dwarves moving around, the goblin in front of Hallister is distracted, panic fills its eyes, and that is the moment Hall needs. With a downward swing his axe cuts deep and the Goblin is finished.
Atharessa reaches for an arrow imbedded in her arm and yanks it free. She presses her hand against the wound, and does not have the courage to remove the other. Keeping her eyes focused on the passageway where the goblin arches had fled she slowly backs into the space at the opening to the room where her friends are still fighting.
The last remaining Goblin stabs at Moralane with its spear
Melee Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
But the attack misses
Mazrim and Miagnik are up, and then Windel
BigGoblin - dead
Goblin at –A,19 has taken 16 points of damage , and dies
Goblin at –B,19 has taken 7 points of damage
Atharessa has taken 5 points of damage
Rownig has taken 12 points of damage

Miagnik |

Seeing the fighting coming to a close, Miagnik dropped his spear and moved in to finish the Goblin. In a moment his claws extended and he slashed twice into his foe.
5 ft. adjust and full attack with claws.
attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 1 = 17
damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 1 = 22
damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Hallister Silverspike |

"That's why it's a bad idea t' break ranks. I know ye wanted t' git a better angle, but next time ye might want t' wait until we've thinned 'em out a little first."
Hal is looking pretty worse for wear himself, the large goblin having caught his with a few solid cuts. He looked down at himself and winced, obviously disappointed in his defenses.
If they'da been ghould instead o' goblins, I'd have been dead. I really got t' stop lettin' myself get hit all the time.

Windel Warhaven |

Windel finishes braining the goblins then he will do a healing channel.
healing: 1d6 ⇒ 4
"'ressa ye can't be runnin' like dat, battle fury can be dangerous git yerself and other killed."
3 of 5 channels
"Healings low and same wit me spells."

Rownig Fleetfoot |

Rownig will begins frisking the dead bodies looking for potions, rings, coin and whatnot.
He nods to Hal's statement, "Hal...sorry ta break ranks and charge ahead but my talents are best used if I'm hitting fast and flankin." He shrugs and goes on doing his search.
perception, if needed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Miagnik |

Miagnik liked it a lot when the wash of glowing white waves touched his skin and healed him. It made him feel alive and good. Almost as good as when he sat near a fire, the two were a lot alike only... fire burned him when he touched it, but it was a lot more fun to watch and it lasted longer. It then occurred to him that the reason he liked the white waves was because he had been hurt. He didn't like that very much at all. It then occurred to him that he didn't think he had much powerful magics left. So he started going over and rifling through the other goblins belongings, looking for a suit of armor or shield he could use.
Miagnik is looking for a suit of leather armor and/or light shield.
"The big one, the big one was waiting for us. Look at him. I check room. We best hurry, more come if we not quick."

Terquem |
Day 1, Turn 5
Rowning and Miagnik search the bodies of the fallen goblins, and come up with the following:
seven small knives, six small spears, six small suits of “Brigand” armor (this is a combination of Studded Leather and pieces of Chain), one medium suit of chain mail armor, one medium scimitar, five silver rings, four silver earrings, eight copper rings, three copper bracelets, twenty eight silver pieces, sixty three copper pieces, one small short bow, eleven arrows, one small suit of leather armor, one wooden flask containing a powerful alcoholic beverage.
When everything is collected and counted, Rowning takes a glance around the room and he notices something
Small Brigand Armor: Armor Bonus, +4; Max Dex Bonus, +3; Armor check, -1; Arcane Spell Failure 15%; Speed, 30, 20; weight 13 lbs
The medium sized goblin was portly, and his armor will fit a Dwarf. It is a suit of Chain Mail. The armor requires about thirty minutes of "repairs" otherwise its AC bonus is reduced to +5

Windel Warhaven |

Windle focuses on the copper bracelet trying to determine the power and number of auras.
Thereafter the next round he will focus on the strength of the aura.
As long as it's not necromancy he will then manipulate the item using his spellcraft and detect magic to try to ascertain the items properties.
detect magic/spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Miagnik |

Miagnik, who was busy putting on the suit of leather armor, looked over at Windel and called up a detect magic spell on the coin he was holding.
Arcane Spell Failure: 1d100 ⇒ 42
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
"Ooh, ooh Miagnik knows! But first shiny's. I have idea for later. Need some copper and silver coins as well as a bracelet."

Terquem |

Atharessa Deloui |

Day 1, Turn 5
Atharessa will move passed the others examining the bracelet and put her ear against the wall where Rownig has said there is a secret door
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
"I think I can hear someone moaning for help on the other side of this wall."

Moralane Vessocho |

"Quick, Rownig, how do we open this," Moralane says as she moves to stand next to Atharessa and begins running her hands across the stone surface.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
She searches for a hidden mechanism or some means to open the door but cannot find it.

Rownig Fleetfoot |

Rownig will check for trap,
traps: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
the dwarf listens for the sound described,
general perception to listen for moaning: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
He will then try to disable the trap, or find the means to open the door,
DD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Miagnik |

"The coin is lucky, lucky coin."

Terquem |
Day 1 turn 5
Rownig examines the fine outline of the concealed door hidden among the stonework of the wall and discovers that there is a trap built into the wall. Peering up at the ceiling he can just make out a narrow panel, also concealed in the stonework, that probably opens if the door is not opened correctly.
It may drop something unpleasant, or even fire darts down in front of the door, it is hard to tell.
As he goes to work on the door, trying to work it open without setting off the trap, he hears a click, and gulps. He has set off the trap!
The concealed panel in the ceiling opens and a thick oil falls in a whoosh down upon Rownig. As the panel was opening a flint was dragged across a steel rod showering the area below with sparks.
Rowning suspected there was a trap, the signs were obvious, so I will give him a +2 circumstance bonus to avoid the flaming oil. This is a Reflex Save, the DC is 20 (for half damage, but as he has evasion, he will take no damage on a success). The damage is 16d from fire/heat as the oil ignites before it falls on him. A second Reflex save is required if the first is failed, the DC is 14, to avoid catching on fire and taking another d6 damage. If you do catch fire the normal rules for being on fire apply.
Atharessa and Moralane were not warned to stand back while he worked on the door, so they must make Reflex saves as well.
Atharessa: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Moralane: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage from flaming oil: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Atharessa screams and leaps backward swinging her arms in great circles as she back steps away from the flaming oil. Turning to see what she is screaming about, Moralane is slow to react to the trap and is burnt by the flaming oil. She slaps at herself hoping to not catch fire
Moralan’e second save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
The heat and flames burn at Moralane’s arms, but she is quick to put out the fire.
With the trap sprung, Moralane reaches to where Rownig was trying to open the door and adds her strength to his. The door opens.
On the other side of the door is a cramped space, only five feet wide and barely six feet high. The space goes west for five feet and then turns to the south. Lying on the ground immediately beyond the door are three figures, two appear to be Dwarves, one male the other female. The third is a beautiful Half-Goblin (Gnome) female. All three figures are bound hand and foot, and gaged with filthy rags. The Half-Goblin woman seems to be in better shape, physically, then the others, and she has worked her gag up onto her nose, and she is pleading for help.
”I think the dwarven woman is dead, but the man is barely alive. They have tortured them, but they dare not torture me. I am Princess Stephanie. My parents are Ginolik and Walinda Voqnik, the King and Queen of Balor. Thank you for rescuing us.”

Miagnik |

Miagnik made his way past the Dwarves, and he saw the burning trap that Rownig had set off. He felt a momentary twinge of regret as the lucky coin he had could have saved them from being burned. But then he saw Princess Stephanie, and immediately forgot about his regret. He felt a rush of energy as the tiny flame he felt in his chest light up and soon the fire had rushed through his entire body. Standing up straighter, he marched over to the open door.
"Move, move!" He said pushing his way past Moralene and Rownig. He came up first to the Male Dwarf on the floor and pulled out his dagger and cut him free. "Windel, heal them." He then moved over to the princess and removed her gag before also cutting her free. "Princess. My name is Miagnik, it is good to see you unharmed."

Rownig Fleetfoot |

reflex save: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15
reflex save 2: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 2 = 24
Sure wish those rolls were switched around.
Is that 16d6? damage? or is it 1d6?
damage: 16d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 1, 2, 6, 6, 1, 4, 4, 5, 2, 4, 6, 6, 6) = 64
or
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
On the bright side he did not catch on fire!

Hallister Silverspike |

Hal moves to help Moralane put out the flames, wrapping her in his cloak and trying to smother them. Once they're out he realizes that he was manhandling her a little and steps back quickly, color rising in his pale cheeks.
Aid another to put out the fire, just in case.
"Er... sorry. You alright?"

Windel Warhaven |

Windel moves closer and send a wave of healing energy over the group.
1d6 ⇒ 1
Afterwards he announces, "We need t'be thinking about resting...we are battered and running short on healing."
That stunk.
4 of 5 healing surges used.

Moralane Vessocho |

Moralane stands perfectly still while Hallister ensures she is not on fire, and then blushes when Hallister tries to apologize,
“No, no, thank you, that, that was nice, that you did that to help me, and well, uh, why are these people prisoners here?’ she quickly changes the subject.

Georgiana Rulais |

Day 1, Turn 6
“Thank you, Miagnik,” Princess Stephanie says as she steps away from the ropes he has freed her from. She hears the dwarven ranger ask about the prisoners, and answers, “I was travelling with Princess Farina Rosaria Fredrosse, the daughter of the dwarven king, as an envoy and ambassador of good will. We had just left the village of Saint Lorelei, in the lands of Sir Vessochio when our group was attacked by a strange group of Goblins. We had been in the village celebrating the rite of the Blessings of the Seeds in the Church of Denari in the village. The Goblins that attacked us were in league with a group of undead who were unlike any that I know of. Among them were conventional kinds of necromantic cohorts, zombies, ghouls, and skeletons, but there were also three riders, all of them emitting an aura of intense cold and death energy. We were attacked and many of our party were killed, and we were separated. I do not know what has become of the dwarven princess, nor do I know what has become of my half sister, Princess Melodak. The dwarven woman here was tortured by the Goblins, taken out of this room and beat repeatedly just on the other side of the door, I heard her screams for hours. They demanded that she tell them where, in the dwarven capital, a strange artifact is kept, something called the Silver Glass of Alsonde, but she claimed to not know. If she did know what they were asking her about, she took the secret to her grave. I learned, from overhearing them that these Goblins are followers of a goddess called Zeenthia, a Goblin Goddess of Tribal Motherhood, unity, and strength, and they are part of a sovereignty movement that plans to overthrow the dwarven king and drive all dwarven people from the island. They also mentioned that they must be careful with us, the prisoners, they referred to us often, and they mentioned others, for fear of angering someone by the name of Umara, but I have never heard this name before.”
Princess Stephanie moves to the dwarven woman’s body, and examines it closely.
“Yes, even with the healing energy of your faith,” she says to Windel, “This brave woman is dead.”

Georgiana Rulais |

Day 1, turn 6
The male dwarf is barely alive, and is at 1 hit point. He is conscious, but does not try to stand. He looks as if his legs have been broken, and he is bruised all over his body. He wears no shirt, and his pants are torn to shreds, but his belt is still intact, and the buckle of his belt is wooden, round, and displays the symbol of House Guisse. He wears no shoes. He asks for water, and lets the half-goblin Princess speak without interrupting her.
Princess Stephanie takes a step toward Hallister, and eyes him suspiciously. Her eyes narrow as she examines him.
“Are you treasure hunters? Grave robbers? Hmmm, I wonder. A small group, but you are well armed. Do you know who I am? I suppose you do not, as it is not like your king to tell his people the truth. Hmph, never mind, his daughter is of a different mind, yes, and she is the future of a peaceful existence between the Goblins and Dwarves on Baylor. There were twenty two of us in the group. Princess Farina, and her personal assistants numbered fourteen, including these two. I travelled with my half sister, the warrior-princess Melodak, and six attendants. When we were attacked, before I was rendered unconscious by a wave of negative energy unlike anything I’ve experienced before, I saw three of my people killed and two of the dwarves killed. That means that there could be fourteen other prisoners held by these revolutionaries here in this place, somewhere.”
As Hallister and the others listen to the Gnome Princess they may get a feeling about her scrutiny of them, you can make Sense Motive Checks if you like.

Miagnik |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Miagnik |

Bluff/Secret message: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Finding you was... a chance encounter. But we failed to kill all of the guards and now due to several fights with this revolutionary band of followers of Zeenthia and some traps, a number of us are in need of rest. It is likely your half-sister will be better guarded if not moved somewhere else. For now it should be our priority to get you somewhere safe.

Day 1, Turn 6

Georgiana Rulais |

“I think I begin to understand what is going on here, and I am no stranger to dark, yes dark secrets. A Sailor indeed,” she says to Hallister, “If there were goblins, followers of Zeenthia, that ran from you during a fight, then it is certain they are getting more numbers and will return soon. Maybe we can hide here, behind the secret door. I do not know how many of them knew of our existence, there was one of them, he seemed to shout the most, and he keep this door guarded by his favorites, and berated them constantly if they ever left their post, but he wouldn’t say anything about why they were ordered to stand by this wall. I even heard them ask him why guarding the wall was so important, and he would not tell them.

Miagnik |

Miagnik looked at Rownig and Hallister and shook his head.
"No no, silly Dwarves. She meant the wall where they were being kept."
He then turned to look back at the Princess. "You did mean that wall, right?"

Miagnik |

As Princess Stephanie smiled, Miagnik considered the possibility of sitting next to her in the tiny room. But the gravity of their situation, as well as the thought of Rowning, Moralene, Wendle, Hallister and the rest of the Dwarves cramping together inside the small area, did much to dispel the happy notion from his mind.
He turned away from the group to hide his private thoughts and began to speak aloud. "There's too many of us for fitting inside the room as it is. We may learn some information if we stay, but resting won't be comfortable or easy for any of us." He looked down at the dead Goblins in the room.
"I might be able to dress as one of the guards and learn things that way, while the rest of you leave to recover. I could aid you once you return."

Terquem |
Day 1, turn 8
Hustling as quickly as you can, while trying to keep the noise of so many people on the move down to a minimum, you retrace your steps back to the trapped hallway.
There is a 1 in 12 chance that the Goblins have returned with reinforcements and you encounter them here
Running into Trouble: 1d12 ⇒ 2
You're in luck! The hallway is empty, and with Rowning taking the lead and ensuring the safe way is clearly marked with chalk, the whole group, except for Miagnik, safely exits the tombs.
You are back outside on the little clearing on the mountain in front of the entrance to the Palace of the Vampire Queen. You are helping the wounded Dwarven guard along, and it is Rowning, Hallister, Mazrim, Atharessa, Moralane , and Windel.
What will you do now?
Miagnik can strip one of the goblins of his armor, and drag that body into the secret room. When the Goblins return he will need to make a bluff check, with a +2 modifier for wearing the right garb for a goblin who was assigned to this area

Miagnik |

Miagnik waits in the front of the room near some of the other dead Goblins. He takes some blood and smears it on his face and practices feigning pain and a severe headache, as though he was knocked senseless.
Bluff: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 = 27

Miagnik |

Forgot earlier, but when Miagnik hears others coming down the hallway he will quietly cast Resistance on himself before resuming his pain.
