| Kontha |
poor thing has been out of action so long she cant hit anything, lol
| GM Fez |
Man, no one can hit this thing right now.
Target: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Marina again
Snap!: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3) + 7 = 13 Plus a new DC 18 Fort save vs poison
The phase spider shifts back into the plane, weaving around all of the attacks launched its way and assaulting Marina once again. It seems to be chittering in mockery as it disappears.
Dissa swears and sets up again.
Readied slash!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Order 1st Round
Phase Spider
Dissa, Dulomak and Kontha, Marina
| Kontha |
kontha will attempt to bite 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 2 = 19 also with power attack
1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9
| GM Fez |
Target: 1d4 ⇒ 2 Dulomak
The Phase Spider slides into the plane to be met with lots of slashing blades and angry dinosaur jaws. It lunges at Dulomak with dripping fangs as it gets sliced and chomped on.
Crunch!: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 1) + 7 = 12 Plus a DC 18 Fort save vs poison or take 1d2 ⇒ 1 Con damage
It retreats into the ethereal plane again, looking on the brink of collapse.
Order 2nd Round
Phase Spider
Dissa, Dulomak and Kontha, Marina
Marina, Servant of Wadjet
|
fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
cure: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Marina continues to try and heal up her wound with a wand and fight off the poison, trying to stay close to the other 3....
"please...kill it...got me good...wounds deep..."
| GM Fez |
We'll count that previous roll for Con damage against both Marina and Kontha, so Marina's at 3 Con damage.
Dissa sets up again, waiting for the spider to come.
Slash!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Confirm: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Damage: 2d10 + 28 ⇒ (10, 8) + 28 = 46
Order 2nd Round
Phase Spider
Dissa, Dulomak and Kontha, Marina
Marina, Servant of Wadjet
|
fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
As the poison finally runs its course (?) Marina takes out a scroll and spends 3 rounds channeling the magic to hopefully fix some of the damage
lesser restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 1
...very unsuccessfully, leaving her wounded but as healthy as cure spells can do.
Marina, Servant of Wadjet

"In all the excitement, I feel very silly for forgetting my anti-toxin. I also have a kit, if anyone can try to treat the poison."
However, i remembered a bit too late for this save, so here goes
fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Marina, Servant of Wadjet
|
The healer's kit provides a +2 bonus on heal checks, such as treat poison, but it's required for treat deadly wounds (which we're not doing because it takes forever and we have PFS wands)
"There might be more though, and the alchemist who sold me this said it works for an hour, so I'm going to drink it anyway just in case."

The door groans open, revealing the room beyond. A wrought iron framework supporting thick glass panels creates an imposing dome, though sediment from the dirty harbor above blocks most of the light that might otherwise stream into this underwater chamber. From the apex of the dome hangs a gigantic fossilized spider, which swings from a thick rope of roughly woven, silver silk.
The presbytery shows signs of age: puddles of leaking seawater form on its tessellated floor, and its glass panels are clouded between webs of rusted framework. A petrified idol dominates the chamber, hanging suspended and upside-down above the water-damaged pews and makeshift cots of the assembled cultists. Similarly suspended are six webbed cocoons. 12 people are chanting and swaying as they suspend the cocoons, while the rest are reading esoteric literature. One woman is observing everything and describing Mog-Lothar's promises to the world. When she turns and sees you, some still covered in the blood of cultists she pauses. "Faithful, rise! Who are you intruders, and how many have you killed?"
Marina, Servant of Wadjet
|
"Well, I haven't killed anyone ... so...uh...maybe we could talk about not getting a bunch of citizens killed and causing nightmares and things? Is that an option? I'm a concerned citizen, my name is Marina" Marina tentatively hopes...briefly...
| GM Fez |
The cult leader lowers her spider-legged sickle and waves for her congregation to do the same. "At least one of you has manners. I am Myra, and I can assure you that we are not to blame for these murderous nightmares. In fact this sanctuary," she gestures to the leaky presbytery around her, "is the only place that we ourselves can avoid the nightmares."
Marina, Servant of Wadjet
|
"See there have been these terrible spiders, and a spider woman named Aranae told us the Mog Lothar was going to kill us and/or have us sucked into a nightmare realm and that sounds bad - you said, rise, faithful - to whom are you faithful?"
Marina, Servant of Wadjet
|
Ok now i'm dubious
sense motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Marina considers her words, she may be a pacifist but doesn't want to be duped.
"I would love to talk to you one civilized person to another why I think being devoted to a dreaming spider on promises of immortality might not work out for you, but if we really can keep the people of this city safe without further violence I'm listening..."
| GM Fez |
Myra is certainly pugnacious, but genuine. She reaches into her robe and pulls out a silver key. "Thank you for believing me. This holds the answers you seek. The true culprits are a sect of our brotherhood—excommunicated heretics—sought to open a portal to the realm of dreams and awaken a powerful artifact. We pushed them through and shut the door behind them. I believe that we did Korvosa a favor, but it has had..." she pauses uncomfortably, "unintended side effects."
"One more thing, there was a book that told all, a large tome that held the secrets of the ceremony. But our associates stole it and went into hiding..."
Marina, Servant of Wadjet

Marina also makes a torn face as her eyes scan over the dead. "We...will be back, to discuss not...doing that and not selling shiver, but time seems of the essence for now. "
You can barely hear her whisper to herself "can't save people who are already dead..."
Wait, is there any way to make sure they're dead without cutting them out or anything?
