Speaking to the king.
"Death comes to claim us all eventually but I aim to not have it be this day or the next. Instead I seek to bring fire to the ice cold heart of the threat we now face and show them the Spire first hand."
"We stand upon a precipice looking out at events that might forever change the world in which we now live. We have the ability and moral responsibility to stand up and take charge for that future."
"Whether you fight or not, that’s up to you. You know who we are and what we are doing here, but if you are going to fight alongside us there are a few things I want you to know."
"All of us volunteered to serve the Pathfinder Society. Some came mainly because they were bored at home and thought this looked like it might be fun. Some came because they were ashamed not to and
many of came because it was the right thing for them to do."
"All of us have seen men and women die."
"We are a different kind of force though. If you look back through history you will see men fighting for pay, for women, for some other kind of loot. They fight for land, power, because a king leads them, or just because they like killing. But we are here for something different. We are here to keep our world free. Free from tyranny and oppression. Free from an evil that would destroy us just because we exist."
"We all have value – you and me. What we are fighting for, in the end, we’re fighting for each other."

Brutus: Technically, no, but it's hard to ignore Holly's 30+. Also, I didn't mean that you couldn't use them or re-use them. I wanted to make sure those without Diplomacy or Intimidate knew they could participate.
Vallahk stares at Holly for a good long moment after she speaks. His eagle eyes boring into her until he finally answers in a dry tone that gives nothing else away, "You speak well."
He narrows his eyes at Victoria as she makes her political argument, clearly unimpressed.

Quiselle beckons Vallahk over and the two confer in whispers. After a moment, the queen looks to you with a sly smile and says, "Your proposal intrigues us. We will consider giving you our blessing when your need is greatest."
The hamadryad waves her hand and a rush of oak leaves falls from the tree and swirls around you. When the leaves settle, you find yourself back at the edge of the frozen lake. The bodies of the kobolds and their drake allies lie where you slew them. The path the kobolds took across the snow is clear.
You may at any point as a free action invoke the blessing of the fey. The benefit lasts until the end of that encounter. You choose at the time you invoke the benefit either DR 5 or Resist Cold 10.

The forest path leads northeast, where dense evergreens give way to steep, rocky foothills. Several intersecting trails lead up to the cave system’s main entrance partway up the Tusk Mountains. The raised outcroppings in this area are about 10 feet tall.
Scaling the outcroppings requires a Climb check vs. DC 12. Acrobatics checks suffer a -2 penalty.

![]() |

And here we are back again.
Victoria will let the better climbers try first. She is willing to cast fly and take herself and/or let a stronger person carry her up if needed.

![]() |

"That went better than expected. I would have expected them to be either hostile or totally indifferent to our needs."
Holly casts Heightened Awareness as she ascends the pathway. Coming to the rocky steps she looks them up and down and with a slight smirk leaps to the top of the first rocky outcropping.
Taking 20 on an acrobatics check to vertically jump to the top of the outcropping providing there is no looming threat. DC 42 Acrobatics to vertically jump 10 feet.
Acrobatics, Take 20: 20 + 24 = 44

Hendersen calmly spends a point of mental focus, summoning a Medium Air Elemental to carry him to the top of the outcropping, thereby allowing him to keep his bow at the ready for any threats.

Producing a wand, the half-orc motions for Zaas to step forward. "May your girth grow for your use is mighty." he mumbles as he flicks the carved bone a few times. As the beast grows upward and outward, he smiles. "That's better." and climbes into the saddle strapped to the creature.
"When you're ready, let us get up there."
Use Enlarge Person Wand on Zaas. Now that he's large, climbed into the exotic military saddle on him.

Zaas |

"As you wish, sir." grumbles the beast. With surprising skill, it makes its way up the crag. Glancing over it's shoulder to Victoria, it calls down "If you need, I can retrieve you in a moment. I do hope you have some skill in riding."

And you should have gotten the following Overseer announcement prior to this room:
The kobolds continue to mount a frustrating defense, luring Pathfinders into cramped and trap-filled tunnels and unleashing captive monsters on unsuspecting agents. Even so, the kobolds are losing ground with each battle. As another skirmish echoes from elsewhere in the caverns, a tremendous roar reverberates through the cave complex, rattling stalactites and causing snowdrifts to slide down the outside slopes. As the sound dissipates, the voice of a massive creature booms from deep within the kobolds’ warren.
“Long ago my ancestor Grathatonhakis ruled here, and a meager dwarf challenged his might only to become his trophy. Both were fools, and both are now dead. I am neither, and your paltry attacks shall not change that. Fall back, kobolds of the Shiverscale tribe! Let these intruders die in sight of the last fool to challenge Horralydax, the master of the Tusk Mountains. Rally to me, my children. Today we dine on adventurers!”
The kobolds kowtow to the booming voice, scramble to their feet, and begin retreating deeper into the caves. For once they aren’t covering their tracks, so the way to the dragon’s lair is clear.
Table GMs, please move to the encounter in area N swiftly.

Fandral and Brutus meet the nearest kobold warrior between the piles of ice and snow. The Mountain accurately if not critically strikes the white-scaled warrior in the chest.
The kobold farther away pulls a flask from his belt and drinks it. He slowly begins to increase in size. The embattled kobold swings his large sword with all his might at Fandral. The first blow knocks the swordsman's attempt to parry aside by sheer force and tears a painful wound across Fandral's arm. The second blow is deflected, and Fandral takes advantage, repaying the kobold warrior with a wound to its arm.
