Iskar |
Wiping the vomit from his mouth, Iskar trudges back towards the swarms. His face as red as his rune, he mumbles "Sorry bout that. Lets see here..."
UMD: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Zaas |
Ignoring his momentary lapse entirely, as if it never happened, Zaas makes his way back to the swarms.
"So, as I was saying, you've got to finesse these things." he advises, promptly shoving his paw straight through the tiny icons.

Iskar manages to find an important connection between the runes and thinks that they're close to disabling it. The quadrupedal eidolon, however, blunders badly and upsets the swarm.
The swarm of living runes moves and reshapes itself, demonstrating its intelligence (and little known features of swarms) to spread itself across the Pathfinders trying to shut it down. It stings quite a bit, but, fortunately, Holly is able to stay inside the swarm and makes the final adjustment: the runes all stop moving and humming.
Roughly two minutes later, Fandral reappears, likely quite befuddled and disheveled from his efforts to find the exit of the extradimensional labyrinth.

Special Success
As you retreat to the edge of the quarantine, Sergeant Svaralk asks, "How's it going in there?" He offers you a flask of watered down wine.
Where to next? Live guardians, animated exhibits, animated guardians?
Fandral |
"I do not know where I was, but that was not fun....." He looks to the party and regains his composure, " .. oh, you guys are still here." He straitens his jacket, "Nothing I couldn't handle"
Iskar |
"Well...thanks guys. You performed quite well." remarks the half-orc sheepishly. "Hopefully I'll prove myself worthy of your company before the days out."
Eyeing the bumps and bruises covering himself and his companions, Iskar produces a wand. "If ya don't mind a little demonic influence, this should help."
Once he's satisfied no one else wants a tug, he swaps out for a different one and taps himself a couple times, mumbling "I am a god"
"Well, I feel better now. So, where to next?
I'd tap each injured party member (thats willing) with a wand of infernal healing - 10 hp back over 1 minute and you detect as evil during that time period. I'd hit myself twice.

"Impressive finale' ."
She shakes her head at the offer of infernal healing.
"Thanks, but I am going to pass ."
She draws a wand and fiddled with it for a bit.

"Well done everyone. Well done. Now shall we head in and see to the rest of this mess?"
Holly casts Heightened Awareness as they head into the museum.

Long shadows cast by ruined displays and broken furniture litter the floor. A humanoid-shaped figure made of shattered clockwork lies slumped over a bench. Above, an elaborately painted sign reads “Crusader’s Chronicles.”
Two large cats with dark, iridescent coats marked by lighter blue and violet stripes stand apart from the nearby battles and stare fearlessly at you with their bright, yellow eyes.

Fandral considers his options.
Both of the iridescent cats suddenly enlarge to lion-like proportions. The blue striped cat stares intently at Henderson--nothing obvious happens--and then retreats around the display wall. The pink striped cat growls and charges Brutus. Unprepared for the assault, the cat mauls the half-orc savagely. The beast locks onto the paladin with its knife like teeth, tears at his shoulders with its fore claws, and then rakes his belly deeply with its hind claws. When it lets go, its face and paws are covered in blood, as is Ironheart's armor.

Brutus actually doesn't wear any armor except mage armor.
Also, one of those hits will miss. With the haste he's AC 25.
Brutus casts off his shredded bloody tunic and locks his powerfully muscled form into a defensive stance. Before the cat-things can strike again, he lunges forward with a series of hammering punches.
Free action to activate defensive stance. Swift to spend a ki point for AC. Brutus is AC 31 for this turn.

Old Man Henderson fires a series of arrows into a tight cluster very near the pink-striped cat's heart, earning him a baleful look from the cat. Brutus then brings his own offense to bear. Zaas scurries around the display wall to find the cat and bites at it hard, but its hide feels like enchanted steel and resists his teeth. Fandral joins Holly, sped along by Victoria's enchantment, and misjudges the distance he is from the cat. His blade flashes well over the beast's back. He gathers his wits and strikes again: the first misses by a hair, the second strikes but fails to penetrate very deeply, and the third misses by a hair once again.
Then things change for the worse for the those closest to the blue-striped magical cat: everything begins to slow down for both Fandral and Holly, Holly's vision no longer seems a sharp, her body no longer as dexterous, her mind no longer as sharp.
The giant cat actually seems to chuckle right before it mauls the dervish that wounded it. The beast tears through her armor like an adamantine blade through mundane steel. It's onslaught nearly drives her to the floor.

Holly's blade scores a minor nick on the beast but it dodges the rest of her blows. However, it shifts right into Fandral's range and takes another shallow score to its shoulder. The cat spares Iskar a moment's glance, seeming to cower down slightly. The effect is exaggerated as the cat begins to shrink.
Zaas seems to flicker in and out--out specifically when his claws enter the field--of existence as he attacks.
Growling, it shifts its position and tries to take out the two closest tormentors with a savage flailing of teeth and claws. Holly falls to the ground, unconscious while the cat's claws tear through Fandral's armor like adamantine through mundane steel.

Note: I *do* ignore the cover provided by Holly. Since it worked so well last time, I will continue to use Cold Iron (as is my default).
Victoria Hennessee |
Oh no! Holly?
Victoria will rush to the side of Holly, assessing the state of the field and possibly drawing a wand from her wrist sheath and trying to revive the woman.
If there still seems to be a antimagic field, Victoria will pull Holly out (if the cat does not threaten her further).
Otherwise, try to heal her with a wand.
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Please I hope this works!
If the wand is used vs hp and NL damage, that may be just enough to revive Holly, I think
Zaas |
"Coward!" spits Zaas as the beast shrinks away from him. Tentatively, he sticks a paw inside the field and feels the pull of his homeland. "Come fight like you've got a pair! 'Less you've been neutered, then just lay down!"
Delay. As a note, Zaas is wearing an 'Eidolon Anchoring Harness' so as a free action I can expend a use of Summon Monster to keep him here for 1 round (in case the antimagic field moves over him
Iskar |
"Sorry buddy, I don't have any way to get you to him. Just be ready if it comes out of there."
Making his way around towards his fallen companion, Iskar readies his trusty axe. "I'll keep it off her." he whispers as he passes Victoria. "Faundral!" calls out the half-orc, with a nod.
Once in position, he slashes hard for the beast.

P/S: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Fandral rolls perfectly behind the cat, but nearly drops his swords as he swings. Iskar joins him beside the cat, but the beast easily dodges his ax swing.
Victoria drags Holly out of the field. Brutus considers his options.
Henderson's arrows loose a great deal of their force as they near the cat, but three of the four arrows do hit.
The blue-striped cat attacks Fandral again. This time his armor actually manages to protect him from the claws, the cat still being somewhat hesitant to full extend itself after Iskar's fierce invective. However, its fangs tear into something vital.
Combat! Round 5. Bold may post.

Iskar |
Seeing Holly safely pulled away, Iskar sidesteps around the beast. "Now I've got you!" taunts the half-breed. "Zaas, come here and watch my back!" he orders.
Feeling confident of their chances, he slashes at the kitty with two grand swings of his blade.

Victoria Hennessee |
Victoria will use her wand on the fallen woman, Holly.
Come back to us, we need you in this fight yet, dear one.
See readied/rolls above
Zaas |
Gingerly reaching a claw out, and feeling the unsettling tug from before him, Zaas shakes his head. "Yeah, I'm not doing that."
"You all chase it out of that thing and we'll talk!"
Setting back on his haunches, the eidolon waits patiently for the right moment.
Holly Day |
Holly finds herself waking up laying on the floor with the sounds of fighting going on around her and Victoria kneeling over her. "Ouch! That was a nasty surprise. Where is my sword? I need to get back in the fight." Holly brushes herself off and stands up.
If she is close enough to her sword she will also pick up her scimitar.
