Misforstått |
Oh, what the heck. Here's goes nothing!
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
"You see? Haltani likes us! It's clear that she likes you, too. Can't we be friends? We engaged in a bit of trade back in Dalun. We also met Baroness Nadya! She has such a pretty ice garden." Misforstått's tail continues to wag happily. He has no weapons out, and he wears no armor.
Smiling, he continues: "You can check with the merchants back in town. We even came with a letter of trade! We mean no harm to anyone."
The tiefling catches Caswallon's eye. "Except when we feel cranky."
The alcehmist's tail curls. "Sorry about being cranky, by the way..."
Misforstått pulls out a rag and offers it. "Um... sorry about the snot, too..."

Haltani hums softly as Misforstatt is pleading his case and his words seem to have some added weight behind them.
The woman taps the tip of her wand against her chin and seems to consider the words being spoken
"Well..it's clear that my cousin is free to do what ever she likes..so it's obvious that you are not holding her against her will. And even though I personally do not like that one very much" she points her wand at Caswallon at this point ..some of you seem to know what you are doing...at least about some things ..she looks at the rag Misfortstatt is offering with disdain clearly showing on here face. "My cousin is a free person who can do what ever she feels like. I'm sure her mother will deal with her in what ever manner she sees fitting"
The woman nods at "Haltani" and motions for the others with her to follow her as she turns around and moves away.

Assuming nobody decides to attack the leaving party as they leave;
After the invading party has left
"Halatani" turns towards you (mostly Misforstatt) and smiles
"That was exciting, not just that last encounter..but exploring these ruins, talking to the Ulfen leader..even traveling for days by boat talking to you about your previous explorations and past experiences..if that is what the life of Pathfinder is all about, I'd like to sign up to join your Society"
Aryn Seavon |
"I bet you'll be an asset to the Society," Aryn tells Haltani. "You'll want to look into the various factions and see which one suits you best, but I'm sure you'll be a great Pathfinder no matter which faction you join."
Aryn bites her lip. "That said, we should refocus on the task at hand. Let's go back to town and translate the thing we found?"
Misforstått |
On the way back Misforstått tells Haltani more about the Society and preparing for missions. He warns her about the Aspis Consortium. He suggests a Ring of Sustenance so that Drendle Dreng's midnight missions don't wake her up. He also recommends speaking with Ollysta Zadrian--even if Haltani doesn't join the Silver Crusade, she can get honest information about all the factions from the Paladin of Sarenrae.
Caswallon |
She followed the group silently, in a way glad that violence wasn't needed in the end after all. When they all decided to persuade her for the faction within the Society she managed to hide a smile. She was sure that Haltani wouldn't be interested in joining the dark Archive. "Is there anything we have missed in the cavern? We were supposed to find a part of the sky key, not sure if we have performed it all well enough? Or a trail that might lead to where it is/was?"
Misforstått |
We did what we were supposed to do. :-) "From Under Ice" is a prequel to "Tapestry's Toil" where answers may be found! :-D
Misforstått replies: "I presume we will translate the runes on the gladdringgoch back in town. If nothing else, I'll buy a scroll of Comprehend Languages."
Yeah, for the sake of avoiding any ambiguity, I'll go ahead and make that purchase.
Tomas Kellner |
Tomas follows the group, happy with the way things turned out.
... been quit busy IRL recently

"Halatani"takes of her ice diamnond necklace and hands it Onix as a thank you (so now you have 2 of them, one you bought and one you got for being nice to Halatani and not attacking her cousin)
As you arrive back in town and Misforstatt wants buys a scroll of comprehend languages he asks "Haltani" where the best place to purchase one is. "Haltani" then saves him a bit of cash as she is willing to cooperate and confesses that she can cast the spell herself
She has no idea what the rune on the beard clasp is after she cast it, but can confirm it's a dwarven rune of some sort It's a personal rune of some big shot, sort of like an arcane mark
And if someone brings up the dwarven diary she reads it for you:
The journey from Dalun to Kalsgard proceeds without incident. Once you return to the Grinning Pixie, Venture-Captain Benarry initially expresses disappointment that you did not recover a piece of the Sky Key, her chagrin quickly turns to excitement as she reads through Vargrim’s journal.
Venture-Captain Benarry’s face breaks into a wide smirk, and she laughs heartily. “To think, Naldak’s piece of the Sky Key has been in the Hao Jin tapestry all along! Well, easy enough. I’ll just have to have a chat with the Master of Spells about sending a group of agents in to pick it up. The tapestry is vast, and we never would have known where to look it weren’t for you. To top that off, studying the section of Naldak’s Point that Hao Jin’s magic narrowly missed ripping out of Golarion could teach us more about the tapestry itself. Well done, Pathfinders!”
"Haltani" will act as a contact in Irrisen and The Society considers training her as a Pathfinder if they can get Baroness Nadya’s approval. Venture-Captain Benarry thanks the PCs for finding the Pathfinder Society “a new ally in an unforgiving country.” Benarry uses her network of contacts to keep in touch with Uliyara, trading books on customs of the Inner Sea for news from Irrisen.
Aryn Seavon |
Aryn smiles at Misforstått and nods. "I do hope so too, Misforstått. It's been a pleasure working with all of you."
